The Beginning Of Their Spring

I have properly read the map of the field before the game started. But, the vastness of the field is something I can appreciate twice.

It has been three minutes of roaming around the forest, and I can't still find my next victim.

Still, I am patient. He, who lost to himself, is a loser. I am no loser; I am no winner either. I am a hunter.

What does that mean? I don't know. I said that out of boredom. But, why should I explain myself in my own monologue?

Rustle.

I have finally spot a mortal to slay!

He is hiding behind bush, but I am also behind the very bush he is hiding himself. Therefore, he is showing his back to me. What an easy prey, indeed.

Rejoice, mortal! This God of War, Hachiman will fuck you from the back!

WAIT! I should have worded it better.

Rejoice, mortal! This God Of War, Hachiman will end thy pitiful existence!

Yes, that's better.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Aw, aw, aw! Alright, stop it! That's enough!"

Oops. Who knows Full Auto will be that wild?

I pay the dead mortal no attention and move once again. Now, including me, there should be 6 people left. I am sure two of them are Asako and Julia.

Venturing the forest deeper, I run into an unfortunate mortal once again. He is hiding inside a building. But, this idiot doesn't really know how to hide.

I can plainly see his rifle's barrel sticking out of the window. Since I am coming from the side, he can't tell I am approaching the building he is in.

I let go of DDM4, leaving it hanging, and take out my Glock 19C. I walk carefully as to not make any sound.

Upon arriving right beside the window, where the barrel is showing itself, I crouch down and slowly move to the other side of the window. When I peek inside the building, as I expected, no one is holding the rifle.

There are two possibilities of why this happened. First, the idiot forgot to bring the weapon with him. Second, it is a trap to lure people.

As the first one is very unlikely, it must be the second one. Therefore, he must be waiting behind the other side of the wall.

True to my expectation, I can see him slightly away from the rifle, right behind the wall that separates him from the outside world

Since he doesn't notice me yet, I quickly end his pitiful existence.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

|Kyaa! Damn it!|

Oh, it's not a he, but a she. Her voice is also familiar. So, I get up and look inside the building; at the mortal I have just shot.

|Hello again.|

|It's you!|

I don't know what is shocking about seeing me. But apparently, it is shocking enough for her to immediately open her mask.

|Hikigaya Hachiman at your service.| I bow mockingly at her.

The unlucky mortal is none other than Julia Bardera. She glares at me sharply, before eventually snorting, then heads towards the dead zone while carrying her guns.

I don't know whether she is doing it consciously or not, but she is swinging her hips too much. Well, judging by how she has treated me up till now, I believe she is doing it unconsciously.

What a natural temptress!

|Although I prefer my girlfriend's more, your ass is great too!| A great man should be honest in his compliment.

Julia turns around, and glares at me colder than ever. "Keep that to yourself, pervert!" She replies me in Japanese.

I give her a thumbs up, and say, "Your welcome."

Her face contorted, but she made a great choice to walk away. Well, I thought I could stop her swinging hips unconsciously by that. It seems I was wrong. Her nature is too strong for me to beat.

I shrug, and stop minding her. I still have one more person to hunt down—Asako. Judging by how cunning Julia has played her game, I believe Asako, that crazy woman, will be a bothersome opponent.

Asako has ARES SR25-M110K, a sniper rifle, and that is definitely her main weapon. She is observant, quick to act, and has an amazing spatial awareness. She has the trait of being a sniper.

Therefore, I have to be careful, and spot her hiding place as quick as possible.

Let's do a quick analysis. ARES SR25-M110K should have at least a shooting speed of 350 FPS. The wind speed is around 8 knot, and it poses little to no problem for a short distance shooting.

But, judging by Asako's cunningness, she will be at least 25 meters away from her target. BB is light. So, the friction with the wind will definitely affect its trajectory rather significantly

The only way for Asako's shot to not be affected too much by the wind is to follow its direction.

Since the sun is behind me, I am currently facing west. The wind is blowing towards my right, so it is heading North. Therefore, Asako should be in the North.

...

I am heading Northwest, and I haven't found a single unlucky mortal yet. I guess, Asako and I are the only remaining people. Upon reaching a certain point, I stop moving, and look around.

I am looking for a tall tree, or a building where Asako should be hiding in. When I find none of them, I start threading the path once again.

All the way, I am doing it as carefully as possible; I am on high alert. I stop moving once again, and hide behind a tree.

30 meters ahead, there is a convenient place for a sniper to reside. It is a two storey building that is conveniently facing towards my direction.

I haven't seen any light reflected from a scope that signifies the position of a sniper, but I am pretty sure Asako is there. So, I decided to test the wind.

Bang!

I wait, and there is no reaction. Peeking from behind the tree, I still see nothing. So, I approach the building ever so slightly. Of course, I am hiding myself behind a tree from time to time, before eventually arriving at the building.

Upon reaching there, I am slightly disappointed. There is no Asako in the building. Still, I decided to explore the building.

Like any building in any Airsoft field, it is nothing more than a ruin. It takes me three minutes to explore every part of the building.

"Huuh... This is frustrating. I learn how to shoot, not how to spot someone." I shake my head, before deciding to exit the building. But then, something happens.

Rustle.

Someone is approaching toward this building. I crouch down, and approach the window slowly. Peeking out, I can see a player. Turns out, there is another player aside from Asako and I.

Since he doesn't notice me, due to my amazing hiding technique, I quickly point my muzzle at him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"I'm hit!" He shouted.

Right after that, I exit the building. The player looks to me briefly, before eventually heading towards the Dead Zone. I frown, then look around.

"Where the hell is that woman? I will definitely spank her ass, when I find her." Right after saying that, I feel something ominous coming towards my way.

Whoosh!

A BB just passed besides my cheek. It wasn't an intentional miss; I just managed to dodge it. I have finally found the sniper. She is in the Northeast.

Quickly running there, I make sure to hide myself behind a tree from time to time. That crazy woman took a shot at me from 100 meters away with an Airsoft Sniper Rifle. She is undoubtedly talented.

When I covered 50 meters, I stop in my track. I can already see where she is. She is hiding in a bush, and I can see the gap she makes for her scope.

I look through my own scope, and take a shot at her.

Bang!

In my defense, I missed because I am fighting the wind.

Bang!

Asako responded in kind. Her shot almost hit me. But, I have tree-chan to cover me from her shot.

I move from behind tree-chan, and find tree-chan's siblings to shield myself from Asako's shot. Along the way, I am almost shot twice.

I wanted to take another shot at Asako, but she beats me to it. I haven't peeked from behind tree-chan yet, but she can already shoot the barrel of my gun that is peeking.

She is talented, indeed.

"Let's conclude it like a man, kid!"

"You are not one. So, you will definitely cheat!"

"Tch!"

She is shameless, isn't she?

I peek from behind tree-chan, and shoot Asako once again. This time, I managed to almost hit her. Yeah, I know. Not my proudest shot.

I move once again, and there is 25 meters left until I reach Asako. Hiding from her shot is getting harder. Her gun must have a shooting speed of at least 400 FPS, and that's cheating!

Still, I need to stay calm. Let's bombard her with BB.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

I love Full Auto. It completely stops Asako from sniping. She gets out of the bush, and takes out an AR-15.

Wait, an AR? I don't remember she brought any with her. Did she take that from another player?!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Of course, that's not important. My ass is at risk! So I need to run, while shooting. Asako's shot precision doesn't change at all. I don't even know how I even managed to dodge it.

Luckily, my magazine houses more BB than hers. So by the time she is out of BB, I can finally take a shot at her.

Bang!

"Damn it! I'm hit!"

Of course, I don't mean to stop. Letting go of my DDM4, I take out my Glock 19C.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"You little shit! Stop shooting!" I don't listen to any of her word, and keep shooting. What can I say? It's fun. "You will regret this, bitch!" Then, Asako dashes towards my way. A grin is plastered on her face.

It's time to run away from the crazy bitch. She is definitely up to something.

Upon reaching me, she shouts, "Generation Killer!" Then, aims her kick at my crotch.

Of course, I managed to catch it with my hands. But the power behind it is crazy. "Hey! What the fuck do you think will happen to my balls if that hit?!"

"They break?" She laughs.

I let go of her foot, and look at her silently. I am waiting for her next sneak attack. Seeing that she has no intention to attack, I let down my guard, and turn around.

Bam!

Of course, not! I have known this woman for more than half a year. I know all of her trickeries. Therefore, I managed to block her sneak attack.

"Hm. A good reflex." Asako nods in appreciation.

"Why are you targeting my balls?"

"Since I can't have them, might as well destroy them." She shrugs.

"Fuck you!"

Asako laughs loudly, and it is honestly irritating. But, a smile slowly creeps on my face.

Although she's a little bit crazy sometimes, she's a good companion. I am never bored whenever I am with her. Furthermore, she is true to herself. So, that's a good point in my book.

Asako stops her laugh, then suddenly clutches her head. She lost her balance right after, and topples over. Luckily, I am there to catch her.

Enveloping her in my embrace, I look down at her in mild confusion.

I take off her mask, and ask, "Are you alright?" Asako's eyes are closed. "Ah, shit. It's starting," she mutters. Opening her eyes, she weakly asks, "Can you bring me back to the Dead Zone?"

I don't say much, and merely bring her to the Dead Zone. I wish she is joking like usual, but she is not joking right now. Her body has completely lost its strength; she is motionless in my embrace.

She ended up getting hospitalized, and it's definitely not because I shot her too many times.
