Caleb killed the remaining 13 monsters on the floor within 20 minutes. Since the [Forest Gnolls] he met were always paired and not in large groups, he can slowly whittle down their number.

He gained a total of 460 EXP on this floor and he was now 540 EXP away to level 5.

Leveling was truly a tedious job. To level up again to level 6, one would need a total of 2000 EXP and 3000 EXP to level 7.

However, he planned to raise his level and at the same time accomplish his goal. By entering this Rift, he can get his purpose and also gain a level. In his next plans, it would be the same.

For 13 [Forest Gnolls] he killed, three of them dropped an item. One was a Common sword with an attack power of 2, an Uncommon glove that can increase his attack speed by 10%, and lastly a skill book.

[Skill Book: Frontal Speed (Active)

Description: Upon activating the skill, the user temporarily gained an attack speed of 200% for 1 second. Attacking the enemy from the front will give a bonus critical chance of 15%.

"Ho. If I remember correctly this was the second skill I obtained in my previous life," Caleb mused as he slightly smiled at this fact.

He quickly learned the skill and attempted to level up it but he remembered that he used Skill Points a while ago. That's why he can only move on and decided to rest while waiting for his stamina to restore. After some time, he was then again transferred to another place.

The place where he stood was just a small island in the center of a lake. It was very small that a regular house could only fit in it. Around him was water and he cannot see any land ahead of that in all directions. There was no monster in the vicinity but of course, he didn't slack for a single moment.

Seconds had passed and a large disturbance in the water has been made and at the same time a single silhouette comes out from it.

He stared at the figure and he first noticed the gills in every side of its neck. He knows this monster.

Fishman Cretos (Elite Monster)

It's an Elite Monster. Cretos was the name and it was a member of the fishmen family. It usually uses a trident but this time, in its hand was a sword.

Caleb knows the only condition of this floor. Defeating this Elite monster was the primary goal, though even it was just a level 3, it was still hard to solo it.

Cretos on the other hand didn't wait for Caleb and directly rushed at him with full of vigor. A bluish glow started in its sword as it swing down to its opponent. The impact created a small crater however there was no figure in there.

Subtle damage appeared in its head. Caleb was already on its side, activating a [Slash] skill, but the damage was too small because of Cretos' defense.

"Still the same huh." Caleb can only mutter as he hastily retreated backward to gain some distance. The area was small so he was mindful of his position to have multiple choices in case an unpredictable will happen.

After that, he let out a [Moon Slice] to Cretos. A damage of 40 was inflicted on it.

"Shikk!" Cried the monster, probably irritated to Caleb. It strides forward aiming its sword again.

The glow in its sword never flickered off from the start. This skill was the continuous ability of Cretos.

It always deals a heavy blow and if someone who's level 5 or below received the attack, it can take half of their life or even an instant death.

Another blow was struck in the ground where Caleb standing at. He on the other hand uses his reflexes to precisely dodge the blade.

Activating the skill [Frontal Speed], he gained a temporary attack speed of 200% for one second as he directly slashed his sword diagonally from the left shoulder of Cretos until its right leg. Before one second will end, his sword didn't stop moving and trailed upward to trace the previous slash he made.

Blood splurted out as another double -31 damage floated in Cretos' head. It was a critical strike!

But he was not done yet as he didn't dally after these series of attacks and circled around causing his shoulder to graze at the shoulder of the monster as he position himself in its back.

Before Cretos can turn its head, Caleb already struck his sword in its back delivering a major damage of 32 adding the activation of his passive skill [Swift Blade].

This continuous move was a combination of skill and movement speed of Caleb. If his Dexterity was not enough, he will surely not be able to turn around as well as land a quick attack.

After delivering the combo, he then reposition in the distance as he once again looked at the Elite monster, waiting for a chance of counterattack.

He already cleared the 1/5 of its life. If he continuously does this method he will surely be able to end this fight easily, but his stamina would not last long either. So he decided to only stand in defense instead of occasionally running in the field to properly conserve his stamina.

After three minutes of clashing, Caleb's mana depleted while the life of Cretos was already in 150+.

A blade nearly scrape at his cheeks as he swayed his body to his left. He quickly made a normal counterattack swing as he cannot use a skill again because of no mana.

But the blade only passed through to the body of the Fishman. It seems its body suddenly becomes liquid and no damage value appeared in its head as well.

Caleb mentally clicked his tongue because of this. He already knows whats that skill but he never expected Cretos to use this skill when its life was still almost 200.

Normally when its life drops to 50-100, it will change its body to a liquid state from time to time in 60 seconds.

That was a whole minute of immunity to physical attacks!

But right now, Cretos used it. Caleb's only choice was to attack head-on without inflicting damage or to retreat until its skill was over.

Of course, he will choose the latter since his stamina, however, was enough to last because he masterfully conserved it.

But the island was too small so he also assumed that the Fishman in his front will surely catch him.

He steps backward and started retreating while drinking an MP potion. Cretos never stop either and pursuit him until half a minute, they arrived at the edge of the island.

He could choose to dive in the water and reposition himself but that was a suicide move. Cretos' movement speed in the water was great while his attack speed will be reduced.

In the end, he chooses to receive the full brunt of the Cretos' sword. A large value of -74 appeared in his head. 3/4 of his life was over in an instant.

Caleb gritted his teeth and pushed back Cretos. He then made a lunge to its waist, and his sword, as expected only passed through to the body of the Fishman.

However, Caleb in the first place makes this move not to damage Cretos but for him to use the momentum and be able to run back to the center.

He passed to the side of the monster and continued to run. After gaining a distance again, he brought an HP potion to his mouth and make use of the time before Cretos can catch up to him.

Back to its mad pursuit, Cretos swing the sword downward to its slippery opponent but Caleb timely jumped backward. At the same time, he activated his skill [Moon Slice] while in mid-air. A full wave of bluish energy travels to Cretos.

A damage can be seen in its head.

"Now let's go back to what we'd started." Caleb coldly muttered as he stared at the monster.

1 minute had passed and the annoying skill was no longer activated this time. With a glint in his eyes, he decided to attack head-on as he dashed forward.

The Fishman lifted its sword but Caleb was faster and already arrived in its front, once again uses the [Frontal Speed] skill to quickly deliver three consecutive lunges to its body.

He then swayed to his right side to avoid the incoming blade from above and his sword glow as he activated the [Slash] skill inflicting 21 damage.

To the continuous onslaught, Cretos let out a shriek before bursting into light as its life turn to zero.

After the notification, Caleb heaved a sigh and just sit on the ground while checking the drops. His opponent dropped three items. One was a common sword with an attack power of 5 and two Uncommon equipment that was part of a set.

A set of equipment, once completed can give additional attributes to the wearer. So set equipment was so valuable on the game.

He was also excited about this, quickly checked the items while crunching a bread.

Caleb was elated to know the effects. Aside from movement speed it also has water magic resistance effects. He quickly equipped these two items as he waited for the transferred countdown.
