Rain Follows an Unlucky Person

After collapsing in front of his mother's grave, Huvel did not regain his consciousness for two whole days. He woke up on the third day, however, he did not remember anything, including his own name.

Alois Mustero, the butler of Mustero Mansion was anxious since the duke was away and the responsibility of everything in the family was on his head until his master came back. He invited all physicians in the city but none could cure him. The only thing they could say was that he had lost his memories because of his unstable emotion and he might recover after some time.

Alois arranged for Huvel to live in the guesthouse he was currently recuperating at and send some servants. Even though he had lost his memories and became an idiot, he was still the second young lord of the dukedom after all.

Karl also moved into the new house. He told the young master about his childhood in case he would recall the memories but Huvel was not interested and instead he got annoyed and shut himself in his room.

A worried old servant gave Huvel some wine in the name of celebrating his coming of age. For the better or worse, Huvel spend everyday drinking wine from that day onward. When he was drunk, he often harassed the servants.

Another day, a servant who wanted to do him some favour brought a prostitute for the young master to 'relief' his stress. And the young master got addicted to that 'relief'.

Everyday, the young lord Huvel played around, drinking wine and f*cking women until all of his allowances were wasted. When he had no money, he ordered the servants to sell of the furniture in the house. The former guesthouse that could graciously receive noble guests without shame turned into an empty building in three months. The servants tasked to serve the young lord also left the house.

When he was younger, Huvel was regarded as a prodigy. He was smarter than the children of his age; he liked to read books; his thoughts and opinions were different from other people; he usually spoke in more refined manners than most nobles.

People believed that even though he was only the second son of the duke, he could make a name for himself with his own wits when he became an adult. When people heard this genius young boy was wasted in wine and women, they could not believe the news. Those who admired him shook their head out of pity while most people berated him.

Some days later, people were shocked by a new rumour again. The rumour said ... that the second younger master Huvel was stabbed to death by a maid he harassed!

-----

Huvel opened his eyes slowly. It took a long time for him to adjust to actually see anything under the intense light around him. His head was dizzy and he could not feel his limbs although he could move them. When he could see well, he found himself flying over a river! Everything in his sight was in the shades of gray without any colour. Soon he crossed the river and reached a barren land filled with rocky hills.

"FILLIP!"

He suddenly heard finger snapping and the sight in front of him changed! He found himself inside a place that looked like a stone monument. On a big throne in the form of a bed in the middle of the building, there sat a woman who looked to be in her forties. The woman had a mysterious aura around her; something looking dark yet radiant!

Her face was beautiful and had majestic features. Her long straight hair hanged down from behind her head and spread all the way to the front of the throne. Her eyes were darker than anything Huvel had ever seen. He looked away quickly because he felt as if his soul would be sucked into her eyes if he stared any more second.

Her waist was thin but her chest and bottom had beautifully developed mounds. He could tell that because her body was covered only by a single piece of long cloth which only concealed the most private parts of her body.

There were two men beside her. They looked a little younger than her and they sat on each of her sides. Their faces looked very charming and their body was covered with athletic muscles. They had the same clothes and radiance on them like the woman, but their radiance looked insignificant when compared to the woman.

While Huvel was in a daze, the man on the right side of the woman spoke up, in deep and dominating voice, "Bow down human! You are in the presence of the holiest, the Goddess of the Underworld!"

"Go...Goddess of the Underworld?!" Huvel stuttered. He was intimidated by the man's voice and bowed down to the woman.

"We welcome you to the Underworld, human!" said the goddess. "You may raise."

Her voice was clear and calm yet it made Huvel felt like his very soul was trembling.

"You must be unaware of your death since you have just crossed the River of Severing the Past..." The goddess spoke in a tone that lack any hint of emotion.

She moved her left hand to the side in a very elegant manner and the man on that side respectfully lifted a small bowl. The goddess dipped her index and middle fingers into the bowl and splashed the liquid lingering on her fingers towards Huvel. Huvel fell to the ground as soon as the droplets of liquid touched his forehead. He gripped his head in his hands and his whole body quivered non-stop.

"Did We give him too much? Or is it that humans simply cannot withstand the power of Memory Invoking Sap?" The goddess said solemnly. Her brows were slightly knotted.

"My God should not be concerned. If his soul break from just this, it means he is not suitable to carry out the task." The man on her right said.

"Hmm.." She said no more and lied her head on the man's chest. She watched Huvel's struggle as she chewed the fruits the man fed her. The man on her left put his chin on the goddess's thigh. The goddess did not drove the big child away but even patted his head. The corners of her lips slightly curved upwards after a while.

"Do you remember who you are and how you died now?" She asked Huvel whose body was shaking the whole time while he tried to stand up.

"My heart ... was stabbed by a maid..." Huvel mumbled. His face was distorted as he recalled the scene. His hands touched his chest unconsciously.

"So, my life is really over?! I did not even get a chance to avenge my mother and just died like that!" He wailed. He trembled in anger.

"If," the goddess eyes sparkled as she opened her lips, "We were to give you a chance to go back to your world, dare you take it?"
