The First Prince of Soleil Kingdom

The streets of Musteronis were filled with people. Anticipation, admiration and smile were on everyone's face. They were waiting for the war heroes. They were welcoming the soldiers lead by the first prince, Leonard Soleiverner, and their lord, Duke Mustero. Their applauds could be heard throughout the whole city when the heroes entered the city gate.

Huvel stood at the entrance of the courtyard which was at the middle of the city with other family members to welcome their lord. He saw his little brother Albert among the crowd and waved his hand at him but he was ignored.

Soon, the sight of the troops entered his sight and became clearer bit the bit. A man on a white horse was leading the troops. He had blonde hair and a lean body. A white bright sword sheath was hung on his waist. He was none other than the first prince of the Soleil Kingdom.

Huvel found him very attractive. He was elegant in each of his actions. He had beautiful face and body shape. Huvel felt as if he was the precious jewel that everyone adores but could not afford.

"He looks so mesmerizing!" Huvel praised in his heart. "He'd look even better without those dirty clothes on him! I'd love to see it, but too bad, he is a prince. I can't afford him. Or should I try?!"

He was busy admiring the prince's visuals that he did not even realize when the welcoming ceremony ended. He got a nod from the duke but did not get a chance to talk to him. He noticed his elder brother, Delano Mustero, behind his father. He looked stronger and more aloof.

Delano was the first son of the duke and the duchess. Duke Mustero brought Delano who was 20 years old to the battlefield in order for him to get experience. Since he had returned from the battlefield safely, the position of the heir of the family was secured for him. He had all the rights to be arrogant at his home.

The duke threw a banquet for the prince at night. Huvel attended the banquet although he was not invited. He attended not because he was interested in the banquet itself but because he wanted to see the prince again. Looking at the prince, he recalled the time before he let Parcivel go.

At first, he did not believe when Parcivel told him that he was an agent of an information guild. But he could actually tell the reason for the duke to detour to Musteronis was because the commander of the army, Prince Leonard, wanted to see the city.

Befitting an intelligence agent, Parcivel stubbornly refused to disclose any information of Prince Leonard, that was, until he had suffered enough of tickle torture. According to him, the first prince was not love by the King because the King despised the Queen, the first prince's mother. He wanted the second prince, who was born from the concubine he loved most, to inherit the throne. That was a rumour known by everyone in the royal palace.

The King clearly showed his intension when he made Prince Leonard, who was only 19 years old, the commander of the whole army. He would rejoice if he fell in the battlefield. Even if he won the war, with the help of Duke of Mustero, he could put all the blame for the losses during the war on him, and that would destroy the prince's prestige.

"The King's heart is so dark." He thought while he, himself, had a creepy grin on his face. "Maybe, I should pull some strings to make the prince to be exiled and made him mine when that happens?"

"Hello, Sir! I noticed you kept staring at me."

A polite and pleasant voice interrupted Huvel's chain of thoughts. He was startled to see the person in front of him.

"Pardon my rudeness, Your Highness!" He changed his grin to a polite smile and greeted Prince Leonard. "This humble one is called Huvel Mustero."

"Huvel Mustero? You are the duke's …?"

"I am the second son of His Grace."

"I see. But why were you staring at me?"

"I could not resist your charisma and dared to stare. I hope Your Highness will not take it as an offense."

"Surely you jest, Sir Huvel."

"I hope you enjoy the banquet, Your Highness. I will take my leave now."

"Very well."

Huvel was satisfied with just savouring the glimpses of the prince. He left the banquet and returned to his house.

"He's quite polite for a prince." Huvel thought. "He does not look happy but he does not look stressed out either. It seems he have not given up his right to the throne! Then, the reason for him to come all the way here to Musteronis will be to get the support of father and some other nobles. Father is one of the most powerful nobles in the kingdom so it's worth a try to persuade him.

He is more of a smart and tenacious prince than just a handsome prince. I wonder what benefits will he promise to the nobles to support him. I would like to find out about it when I have enough political power. Hmm, but since I'm planning to leave the family, we will be at odds with each other if father decides to support him. Well, the power struggle of the royal family is out of reach for me now. Let's not think about it."
