A Nymph Met a Human

Everyday after praying in the temple, Huvel meditated in the forest on the burial ground for rest of the day. He put a wide range [Dark Shroud] to know if anyone, priests or wild animals approached him. He also put casted some spells that could trap any living being in place as an emergency measure.

The dark energy in the forest was thick enough to be suffocating. Huvel absorbed a large amount of dark energy, converted it into mana and stored that mana in his mana pool until it was overflowed. When he could no longer hold the mana in him, he casted the light magic spell [Heal] multiple times to exhaust the excess mana.

Although he could not cast higher tier light spells because he did not know the structure of those spells, [Heal] was a good spell to use repeatedly because it helped him recover a little from fatigue.

After tirelessly meditating for twelve days, Huvel successfully broke the seal of another circle of his mana pool and acquired the 4th mana circle!

"I have finally stepped into the tier of mages!" He marveled. "Visiting here is really the right thing to do. But it took me longer than I expected. Should I try to attain the next circle? I'm quite sure it will take longer this time. But I can't continue to meditate leisurely. If I don't return to the capital, Tournesol, soon, the damn bootlickers of the King might realize that I fooled them. The mercenaries I hired are getting anxious too. How troublesome!"

While Huvel was pondering on how he should proceed, he felt that his [Dark Shroud] was suddenly canceled! He was alerted. He felt an overwhelming presence from his back so he turned to face whoever that came to him. A human silhouette soon appeared from behind the trees. When he could clearly see the person, the first thing he noticed was the short antlers on their head.

"A hucervid? But it is not the head priest! This one's antlers were much smaller."

Huvel sized up the person that came closer to him. He was ready to launch attack spells. But he forgot to hold his ground when he saw that person's face. It was too beautiful! In his eyes, it was more beautiful than any man or woman he had ever seen. He could not clearly tell whether that was the face of a man or woman. It had large, lustrous, golden eyes and thin, pointed brows. The small nose on it fitted the V-shaped jawline very well. The lips were thin and they looked to be very soft. The black wavy hair that reached the hips enhanced the allure of the fair face. Two light brown antlers protruded from within the curves of the dark hair.

Huvel stared at that person's face unconsciously for a long time until they became very close. His senses finally came back. He then realized that the person in front of him did not wear anything on them! There was no Adam's apple on their throat but there were no dangling boobs on the chest either!

Overcame with curiosity, Huvel looked down at their groin although he realized that he would appear to be very rude. To his surprise, the groin was clear like the surface of a glass ball; there was no body part that extended outward nor intruded inward! There was not even a single strand of hair there as well!

"Asexual?!" Huvel thought. "No, no, that is not important. What important is whether they are enemy or not!"

"I sensed someone with Light Prowess breaking through to a higher tier and came here to see but what is with those dark magic spells around you? Are you a dark magician? And a human at that!" They spoke to Huvel as they stopped in front of him.

Huvel was dumbfounded. The person in front was like a hucervid but much bigger than anyone he had seen. Their body was not muscular but they were at least two feet taller than him. More importantly, he felt that there was a strong elemental power surrounding that person.

"Is this a nymph?!" He thought. "The Nymph of Graveyard that destroyed the army of three thousand soldiers?!"

"Indeed! I'm Huvel, a human dark magician." Huvel replied with courtesy considering that the one in front of him might be a nymph, a being on a different level from humans. "May I inquire if you are the one called Nymph of Graveyard?"

"I'm a nymph but I'm not Nymph of Graveyard. You humans can't even differentiate... oh, you must have never seen her so you don't know? Anyway, you can call me Flying Leaf Nymph!"
