The Cat on the Mat

Lyle felt something warm hit his back.

"Ekk! Don't tell me!"

He had an inkling of what it might be but he did not look at or touch it as he was afraid that his suspicion might be true. However, he was blessed with such warmth again after a short while. As a fishy smell entered his nose, Lyle knew that his suspicion was right.

His stomach felt funny. Lyle had an urge to vomit. He held it back as he heard the couple sat on the chair in front of him. He pretended like a dead man and did not look at them. But he heard the noises more clearly since they were nearer.

"Ah… ah… Ngh… master, it hurts! Please… not… uh… any… more…"

Meonando, who was moaning non-stop, spoke up. Lyle could not tell what was happening from his words alone.

"Fufufu. I can't stop it. You are too cute right now. Don't close your legs."

Lyle felt that Huvel's giggle was like that of a demon. He wanted to close his ears if possible.

"Master… It feels too strange. I can't take it anymore."

"Is that so? Hey, Lyle, get up!"

"Did you call… PHOO!"

Lyle, who got up from his lying position and looked up at the couple, was showered with warm, yellowish but mostly transparent liquid. His face and and hair were all wet.

"Ekkkk!!! Mas… Master, what should I do. I accidently pissed on Mister Algernon!"

The startled Lyle was awakened by Meodinand's cry. His stomach acted again and he vomited. The tears in the corners of his eyes fell down together with the yellowish liquid.

"Mas… Master, he is vomiting. He must be disgusted of me! Of course, he must be! I'm sorry! I'm sorry Mister Algernon!"

"Calm down, kitty. What is wrong with a cat pissing on a mat? It's pretty normal. Well, go rest now. Summon two servants to clean this dirty thing on your way out."

"I… I understand, master. I want to apologize you once again Mister Algernon. I really did not intended to p... piss on you. I don't know why I lose control. I... I will call some servants to help you clean up immediately."

Lyle was petrified like a statue. He did not hear anything after he puked. Only disgust and shame occupied his mind. He did not react in the slightest even when Huvel roughly grabbed his hair.

"How the 'golden shower' of my kitty felt? Was it warm and cozy? What? Cat got your tongue? Are you going to continue to act like a mat? Well, it is better than hearing your nagging."

Meonando came back with two servants and cleaned the room. They took away the still petrified Lyle and washed him up in the bathroom. Since that day, Lyle Algernon did not beg Huvel to take him as a consort anymore and even avoided him as much as he could!

"Master!"

"What happened, Karl?"

Huvel was about to go back to his potion studies after a short tea time when Karl came into the room looking pretty excited.

"They say a monster is coming out of the forest."

"A monster?"

"Yes! There might be a battle at the wall. I ask for your permission to go to the wall."

"Hmm? Do they ask for you join them?"

"Ah, they did not. But Captain Mylan said before that if there is a monster attack in the future, I can go to the wall to observe it."

"Only observe, not participate?"

"Yes, since I am not one of their soldiers, I will only get in the way if I participate. So, the captain told me to only observe."

"Is that so? I'm also interested to see how they fight monsters. Let's go together."

"You are going, Master? It might be dangerous!"

"It's fine. I'll use magic if it becomes dangerous."

"That is why I said dangerous. What if someone sees you using magic?"

"Haha. You are worrying too much. It'll be fine. We're going to miss the battle if we don't hurry!"

Huvel put on a coat and left the room quickly. Karl had no choice but to follow after him.

When they arrived at the wall, the battle had already started. They wanted to find a good spot on the wall to watch the battle but they were stopped by the soldiers. Huvel could not use his authority of the lord since the Wall of Boswell was not within his jurisdiction. He could only tell the soldiers to inform Captain Mylan that he wanted to see the battle.

A soldier went to report and came back quite quickly. Captain Mylan had approved their visit. Both of them were escorted to where the captain was. The captain was surrounded by two knights and a few soldiers as he gave commands. When he saw Huvel, he greeted him with an indifferent face but scolded Karl for bringing his lord to a dangerous place.

Although no one else spoke out after Mylan, the air was tense. It was clear that the knights and soldiers were not happy with Huvel's visit. They thought that the lord of Boswel was sticking his nose into where he should not. Though their stares were intense, Huvel he had a clear conscience.

All he wanted was to see the battle. He had no interest in command or control over the troops on the wall. As such, he did not care about the stares and watched the battle silently. The monster that came into his sight was a fox as large as a bull.

In turn, the soldiers on the wall shot arrows from numerous openings. The monster instinctively evaded the arrows but the few arrows that landed on it could not pierce even its skin. The fox in turn gathered mans near its forehead and casted a spell. The mana formed into a big rock and it was shot to the wall. The rock hit the wall with a bang and small vibrations followed after it.

"So, this is earth magic," Huvel though. "This wall seemed to be firm and sturdy but this monster's magic is also strong enough to slowly destroy and make a hole to it. Let's see how they fight against such monster."
