Lots of News

If Kuchel was identical to Levi on the outside, she was the purest copy of Hange on the inside.

Within just a few days of life, she had shown to be a very extrovert and charismatic baby, although it was still too early for her to start smiling like a normal human being.

The first days were pretty challenging, because, despite already having Lara as a daughter, now Hange and Levi were "half" first-time parents, and everything was very different when it came to a newborn baby.

Levi, for example, took at least a whole week to finally feel safe enough to hold her. He would still give a silly smile when he gazed at Kuchel in his arms, as if Levi couldn't believe the baby was really there. He had also become much stricter in cleaning the house and if he spotted a tiny dust on the floor, Levi would already take the broom, leaning on the crutch. When it was his turn to change her diaper, it looked like he was going to face a radioactive field, such amount of cloths Levi would wrap around his face to avoid the stink.

Hange was dealing with maternity as best she could, for she knew it was not a bed of roses. Her mood still swung a lot and Hange was feeling quite exhausted from having to wake up in the middle of the night to breastfeed. However, it was clear on her face how delighted she was to finally have the baby she had dreamed of. Incredible as it may seem, now Hange had a much sharper sense of hygiene because of the baby, even having times when she would bathe twice a day, which can be considered a miracle. After about two weeks of rest, Hange started to feel much better and was now getting back to her normal activities.

Lara and Kuchel seemed like blood sisters, so well they got along. The baby would grip her older sister's fingers and squeeze them tight, while Lara read some children's stories from some books she had bought, and they slept together on the couch. Lara worked very hard to help her mother with whatever was needed, such as washing and ironing Kuchel's clothes so that everything was as clean as possible. Lara was also in charge of bathing the baby, and often the two of them would stay together in the bathtub, with Lara affectionately wetting Kuchel's head with the handheld shower at a nice cozy temperature.

Armin was a special case and seemed to have the gift of babysitting. For some reason, he could identify all of Kuchel's types of cries, knowing exactly what she wanted. The teddy bear he had given her became the baby's best friend, and she would only sleep with it in her crib. Kuchel was very restless and always seemed to fight sleep, as if she was facing the biggest Titan ever at every time it was nap time or at night. Hange, Levi, and Lara would try everything to make her sleep, but only Armin could do it, which resulted in him being woken up in the middle of some nights by a desperate Levi with dark circles, begging him to make Kuchel sleep.

When Kuchel was a month old, she was finally able to receive some visitors. Onyankopon and his parents went to visit her and Imani was surprised at how well the baby breastfed. On another occasion, Sasha, Niccolo, Connie, Jean, and Mikasa also paid a visit, bringing some very useful presents, such as diapers, bottles, newborn toys, and even some tiny clothes.

Everyone held her a little in their arms (only Connie couldn't quite make it, for he thought the baby was going to jump out of his arms and crash on the floor at any minute, and gave up). Just like she did when she was still in the womb, Kuchel continued to show that she was very fond of Mikasa, crying out loud when Mikasa wanted to give her back to her mother, making her have to hold Kuchel for at least another ten minutes. At one point, Lara poked Armin and they noticed how Jean gazed at Mikasa and the baby with a twinkle in his eye and a silly, passionate smile. Mikasa didn't seem to notice, for she was too busy, shyly playing with the tiny baby's hands.

Time went by and Kuchel was growing up strong and healthy. When she was three months old, Sasha and Niccolo got married, inviting Lara and Armin to be their bridesmaid/groomsman. The newlyweds moved to a small apartment they rented downtown, which was close to the Headquarters and the bakery where Niccolo worked. Sasha's parents also moved into a smaller house they bought, making the temporary home available to another refugee family.

Now that Hange was fully recovered from childbirth, they saw fit to finally seek medical help for Levi's right leg problem.

After researching for a few days, they found an excellent Orthopedic Doctor who was a day's train ride away from where they lived. Lara and Armin asked Sergeant Hans for a few days off, so they could accompany their parents, explaining Levi's condition and that they didn't know if the trip would be long or not. Comprehensive, the Sergeant released them, as he knew they weren't going there to have fun. Armin left the leadership of the Sasageyo Squad in Jean's hands.

The train ride was quite pleasant and fun, because now Kuchel had learned to laugh and was able to grab some things with her hands, especially her teddy bear and the hair of whoever passed by. Kuchel was already beginning to recognize the voices of each one of them and was very smiling and playful.

Levi looked apprehensive during the trip, for he was fearing to stay in that condition forever. But, Lara, Hange, and Armin tried to say optimistic things, claiming they would be by his side for whatever he needed, even if nothing went well. Even Kuchel gave Levi some encouraging smiles that made his heart melt. He was relieved to see that his youngest daughter was not afraid of his scars, on the contrary, she seemed to like them, always running her tiny hands over her father's face with great curiosity, widening those big gray-blue eyes.

They stayed at an inn and, on the next day, they went for the medical appointment. Fortunately, the Doctor was a great professional. As soon as Levi walked into the office, leaning on his crutch, the Doctor exclaimed:

"This leg is not in the correct position, sir!"

While Armin kept holding Kuchel in a corner, trying his best not to let her mess with the Doctor's books and devices, Lara and Hange explained how Levi got into that condition. They told him about the explosion he suffered and how, under a much stressful situation, with Hange still pregnant, they had to flee by a river and tend to his injuries in the middle of a forest, in a very precarious environment and that finally, they had to put his leg back in place as best they could at the moment.

The Doctor was gaping and widening his eyes at the end of the story, pretty impressed. He then examined Levi thoroughly and it didn't take him long to come to the conclusion that, indeed, his leg was badly placed, which made Hange feel terrible for having been responsible for that (the Doctor comforted her, claiming that, under the conditions they were in, she had actually done a great job). The big problem was that Levi's leg had calcified while still in the wrong position, that's why it was hurting so much.

Unfortunately, the problem could only be solved through surgery, which made Levi quite scared, as he didn't like the idea of being dissected like a lab rat. But the Doctor assured him that he would do a good job and, if all went well and with a few months of intense physical therapy, in about a year, Levi would be able to walk normally again. It brought great hope to the family. Knowing that he could go back to a normal life really made Levi consider it, and in the end, he accepted it.

Surprising everyone, the Doctor said he could operate on him on the very next day if he wanted to. Levi sought the approving look of Hange, Lara, and Armin, who nodded. Even Kuchel squealed at one point, drawing laughter from them all.

On the same afternoon, Levi was admitted to the hospital where the doctor worked and, on the next day, he had the operation. The surgery was a success, and Levi had to stay in the hospital for just a few more days until he was fully able to return home by train (he would only need to use the wheelchair for a while). Before leaving, the Doctor left them a contact of a good Physical Therapist who worked in the refugee city region.

About two months passed and Levi was already feeling much better. He did all the physical therapy exercises very diligently, and Lara, Hange, and Armin always helped him. Kuchel also contributed to her father's recovery, making sure to shout loudly when it was time for Levi to start doing the exercises proposed by the Physical Therapist.

By that time, Kuchel was already able to sit by herself on the floor, without needing support, and began to show signs that she wanted to crawl when she was lying on her stomach. One night, while they were having dinner and Kuchel was trying to steal some vegetables from her sister's plate, Levi was so glad with his recovery progress that he claimed that maybe it was about time for them to finally look for a permanent house to live in.

At first, they thought about buying a house that was already built. However, they always remembered so fondly of the wooden house they had in Paradis, that they ended up coming to the conclusion that they should buy a piece of land and build a similar one, with some improvements here and there, like a bigger laboratory for Hange, for example, and an extra bedroom.

After dinner, while Levi and Hange sat drinking tea on the couch, with Kuchel now playing on the floor, Lara and Armin stayed at the table, organizing their finances as they always did every month, and came to the happy conclusion that they could also buy their own piece of land as well.

Excited, they asked Hange and Levi what they thought of the idea of buying two pieces of land nearby, who promptly agreed, excited as well, for this was exactly how Lara dreamed of living when they were in Paradis. They were all so happy, that Lara and Armin hugged and cried with emotion a little because it was their first achievement as a couple.

A few days later, on Armin and Lara's day off, the five of them went in search of two nearby pieces of land to buy, with the help of a realtor. After visiting some, they finally found two pieces of land that were close to downtown, but were also still located in the rural area of the city, with that countryside aesthetic they liked so much.

Lara and Armin were very emotional when they signed the land purchase document and, after leaving Hange, Levi, and Kuchel at home, the couple went to visit their new piece of land again. Armin took Lara in his arms, spinning around as they happily kissed in the middle of that land, making them both dizzy and falling to the ground, laughing heartily. Lara had brought a clipboard, with papers and pencils, and together, they started to draw the house plan right there, the way she had described it to Armin on their first date, but with some improvements and adaptations, because as they scribbled and talked, new ideas were popping into their minds.

However, they had to be content with only the house plan drawing, because they still didn't have enough money to start building it. But just the fact they had already taken the first step was a reason for great joy, and the couple celebrated that day by going out to have some pizza at a restaurant downtown, with the right of having a nice ice cream for dessert.

Levi asked Lara to also draw the house plan of the old house they lived in Paradis, because he wanted to start working on their new land immediately, as each day that Kuchel grew, they felt that the temporary home was getting smaller. Unlike what he did in Paradis, Levi finally did the favor of hiring a contractor to build the house. He didn't like that idea so much and preferred to be in charge of things himself, but Levi hadn't finished his treatment yet, so he couldn't make any effort.

Building a house is not something you do overnight, and it would take a good few months to be fully built. Then, on one very stressful night, with Lara and Armin practically squeezing themselves into the kitchen to finish dinner, with Hange chasing after Kuchel, who, now about seven months old, was crawling on the floor (but not quite making it), and with Levi trying to do some cleaning, the four adults talked and came to the conclusion that they should at least rent a bigger house until the official one was ready, because it was no longer possible to live so many people crammed into such a small place.

And so it was done. About two weeks later, Levi returned the temporary home key to Akin, thanking him immensely and notifying him that he could now lend it to another refugee family.

They moved to a slightly bigger house. It had four bedrooms, which were small, but at least now Kuchel would no longer need to sleep in her parents' bedroom, having one of her own, which seemed to lighten her mood a bit, for even a baby can get stressed when her afternoon naps are interrupted by a father who kept wanting to polish her crib. Besides the fact that Hange and Levi didn't have any privacy to make love at will in their old bedroom of the temporary home they left. The new house also had a bigger kitchen and two bathrooms (thankfully, because they couldn't stand having to wait for the other to bath, let alone having to wait to use the toilet).

Unfortunately, a few days after the move, on a Tuesday afternoon, they received the news that Jean's father had passed away due to a heart problem. A beautiful funeral was done, with even some soldiers from the Headquarters and Sergeant Hans attending to pay their respects. Shortly after that, Jean, Connie and their mothers, and Mikasa decided that maybe it was also better for them to move to a smaller place and free up their temporary home. Each of them wanted their own place, but since they enjoyed living together for all the past months in the same house, in the end, Jean, Connie, and Mikasa ended up renting three small flats from a building downtown. Each would have their privacy, but at the same time, they would still see each other a lot. However, Jean was devastated by the death of his father, and spent many days much dejected.

One morning, some days later, Lara and Armin were walking through the Headquarters' corridors, talking about how they should act to capture a new gang that was stealing pigs from some farms, and, without meaning to, they witnessed Mikasa take the initiative to give Jean a hug, who was crying in a corner of the Headquarters' empty refectory. Trying to stay hidden, Armin and Lara watched Mikasa pat Jean on the back as he sobbed, his forehead resting on her shoulder.

Indeed, Mikasa seemed to be becoming a new person, leaving the "old Mikasa" really behind. Day after day, she seemed to be more cheerful, and her typical sad and downcast face, which she had always shown when they lived in Paradis, was replaced by a sweet and gentle look. They couldn't even remember the last time Mikasa mentioned the name "Eren".

The matter of having a hobby of her own really stuck in Mikasa's mind. So, as time went by, she tried new things. Until one day, during her break time, Lara found her sitting in a corner of the refectory, while embroidering a washcloth in a wooden hoop. Lara approached, surprised to see that Mikasa really had a talent for embroidery, and asked what had led her to choose this activity as a hobby. With a contemplative smile on her face, Mikasa explained that it was something she constantly did with her mother when she was a child. Embroidering brought her a sense of peace and tranquility, while she felt a warmth in her heart as she remembered her late mother. Lara got much delighted to hear that, and felt relief in her chest to see that her friend was slowly recovering very well.

Now, almost a year after they had moved to Italy, Mikasa's hair had grown a lot and she was already able to tie it in a high and stylish bun, with her bangs falling elegantly through her face, making Jean more in love with each passing day because he liked her hair as long.

Jean was always very loving to her and would make everything to see her smile. Everyone (especially him) was respecting Mikasa's time so she could be healed from her broken heart, never dropping hints about having boyfriends or such. Unlike Eren, Jean always encouraged and praised her, highlighting her positive qualities. He also noticed that Mikasa had started to embroider, and whenever he saw her practicing, he would tell her how talented she was and that her embroidered designs were beautiful. Mikasa was so flattered by Jean's heartfelt compliments, that a few days later, she gave him an embroidered face towel with the name "Jean Kirschtein" on it as a present, and he had to hold himself back from jumping for joy in the middle of the Headquarters. Without even realizing it, Mikasa's self-esteem started to raise a lot and she already seemed to see things with a more optimistic look.

Time went on and when Kuchel was eleven months old, Levi was already able to do practically everything on his own, except when he had to make some effort or walk great distances, mainly when going out. So, to make life easier for the family, Levi bought a used car, since both Lara and Armin had gotten driver's licenses according to Sergeant Hans's advice, which now made it much easier when the five of them needed to go somewhere.

On the day that Kuchel turned one year old, they had a little party in the backyard of the house they were living in, and to the utter surprise and joy of everyone there, after they all sang "Happy Birthday to You", Sasha announced that she was pregnant, rendering a toast and warm hugs from all, with the right to a lot of mockery towards Niccolo, where they said that now he would definitely break since Sasha would now be eating for two. Armin saw fit to no longer let Sasha participate in the more dangerous tasks at work, such as chasing and imprisoning thieves, leaving her now doing the internal work, which was also of utmost importance.

Days later, on a pleasant Sunday afternoon, while Hange and Levi were napping, Lara and Armin danced glued together to the sound of a phonograph, while Kuchel played on the floor. The couple was giving light and soft kisses, whispering details about their future house that they believed they could soon start building. Then, Armin suddenly stopped talking, for he felt something grab his leg, and when he looked down, he saw none other than Kuchel getting completely on her feet, leaning on him, as if she also wanted to dance, for she was shaking on her small legs with a big smile on her face.

Lara exclaimed with joy so loudly, that Kuchel fell to her butt on the floor, blinking several times. She and Armin crouched down and started clapping, which Kuchel began to imitate, laughing heartily. Seconds later, a completely disheveled and sleepy Hange appeared, startled by the noise, followed by Levi, who was still limping a little. When Lara and Armin told them that Kuchel had gotten on her feet for the first time, Levi and Hange instantly woke up, and they all spent the rest of the afternoon trying to get Kuchel to walk from one person to the other. By seven o'clock at night, Kuchel finally managed to walk all by herself, from Lara to Levi. They ate Margherita pizza to celebrate Kuchel's locomotive independence, who tried just a bite but no more than that because Levi was very strict about his younger daughter's diet.

Now that Kuchel was able to walk on her own, Lara finally fulfilled her promise to take her to the playground. But, Lara only got to do it once a week, when she and Armin had their day off. They always had a fun time and Armin would buy ice cream for him and his fiancée, who would let her little sister taste it a bit.

One day, when Levi was changing his daughter's diaper, covered from head to toe with cloths to protect himself, he almost had a heart attack when Kuchel simply gazed at him and let out a "DADA!". Instantly, he removed the cloth that covered his mouth and nose, staring at his daughter in complete bewilderment.

"Wh-What did you say?!" he stuttered, ignoring the terrible smell coming from the filthy diaper.

Kuchel didn't quite understand what her father had asked her, but she thought it was funny that he was staring at her in such a comical way, that she ended up repeating:

"Dada!"

Now it was Levi's turn to exclaim loudly, which made Kuchel fart right in his face, making him almost pass out, if not for the fact that Hange, Lara, and Armin came rushing into the bedroom to meet them. Waving his hands, Levi told them that his daughter had said her first word and that it had been "Dada", which made Lara, Armin, and Hange lean over her, who was still lying on the changing table, and start exclaiming their own names. Kuchel got very startled by seeing her mother, sister, and brother-in-law talking so loudly to her face, that she decided to sneeze at that very moment, getting everyone dirty.

They tried everything, but Kuchel seemed obstinate and would only say "Dada" to all they asked her. Levi was extremely full of himself because of that.

"It's not fair!" exclaimed Hange in indignation, at one time she tried everything she could to make Kuchel say "Mama" and failed miserably, holding her sitting at the dinner table, "I carried you for nine months, only to you be born with the spitting image of your father, and now you just call him! Gimme a break!"

"I feel betrayed!" said Lara, hands on her hips, and with a little pout, "Don't ask me to take you to the playground anymore!"

"I never thought you could do such a thing," protested Armin, crossing his arms, "The teddy bear and I are disappointed with your behavior!"

Levi, who was at the stove making tea, looked at his youngest daughter and winked at her. Kuchel clapped her hands and, just to prank them, made a point of saying "Dada" for about five more times in a row, causing Hange, Lara, and Armin to let out exclamations of complete indignation.

Eventually, Kuchel learned to say "Mama", but she wouldn't say Armin's and Lara's names at all, leaving them devastated. Apparently, she had difficulties pronouncing the letter "R". She even said Mikasa's name first, and since we're talking about her, I should mention that she and Kuchel continued to get along very well.

One day, Lara and Armin invited her to take Kuchel to the playground with them. When they arrived at the place, the couple was surprised to see that Jean had also come. As they watched Mikasa, Jean, and Kuchel having fun on a swing, Armin and Lara whispered to each other.

"Do you think there's something going on between them for Jean to have come here with her?" he asked, intrigued.

"Well, I don't know... But, I noticed that they've been hanging around together lately," Lara raised an eyebrow, "From what I can tell, Mikasa seems pretty happy. Will she finally give Jean a chance?"

The couple watched their friends and little sister, who were laughing a lot.

"I believe she already is," answered Armin.

"Do you think it's okay if we give them a little push?" asked Lara, looking excited. "We could try something, and if we see that it's not doing Mikasa well, we stop."

"But what can we do?"

Lara was thoughtful for a few seconds, then said:

"When you split us to patrol the roads, you usually pair Jean with Connie, and leave Mikasa with one of us or alone, since now Sasha's staying in the Headquarters, right?" Armin agreed and she continued, "So, why don't you pair Mikasa with Jean from now on? Let's see how they'll react. Although, in Jean's viewpoint, he'll go to work every day with much gladness!" They both laughed and Armin approved the idea.

When Kuchel turned one year and four months old, they finally moved into their "new-old" house. Now fully recovered, Levi led the moving like a true Survey Corps Captain, not taking it easy, with the complete Sasageyo Squad helping carry their suitcases and trunks (except for Sasha). Connie had invited one of Onyankopon's cousins to help out because he had started dating her.

During the time until the moving day, Lara and Armin noticed that their plan to bring Mikasa and Jean together seemed to be working. At least, that's what they were implying.

As Lara had predicted, Jean clearly showed that he loved being in Mikasa's company when they went on patrol, and would actually arrive at work more joyful. Mikasa, on the other hand, was harder to read. However, there was a certain occasion when the six friends were having lunch in the refectory and a soldier approached the table, heading to Mikasa and, in front of everyone, asked her if she would like to go out with him on her day off.

Lara and Armin noticed that Jean turned a little pale and swallowed hard, looking nervously from Mikasa to the soldier. However, she politely declined it, claiming that on her days off she needed to babysit Lara's little sister, which was obviously a lie, but Lara confirmed it to help her friend.

Looking disappointed, the soldier left, apologizing for the inconvenience. Covertly, Jean sighed, looking extremely relieved. Then, to Armin and Lara's surprise, Mikasa lowered her head, trying to hide herself, and smirked, glancing at Jean. Only Lara and Armin noticed that and they nudged each other under the table with excitement. Connie was too busy talking to Sasha's belly, which was already shaped like a melon.

Back to the moving day, Jean and Mikasa competed to see who could carry more suitcases and trunks, with Jean losing miserably. But instead of getting offended by that, he would praise Mikasa for her strength, making her blush a little at one point.

The house was built exactly how it was in Paradis, with the difference that it now had a complete electrical power system, home appliances, and running water, in addition to having enlarged Hange's laboratory and made another bedroom, which now belonged to Armin. They also decided at the last minute to make another bathroom in Levi and Hange's bedroom, so that they could have more privacy, for they secretly agreed that they would take baths together in the middle of the night and make love in the bathtub. This time, instead of the basement being a training room for fights, it became a large recreation room, especially for Kuchel, who was simply delighted to see her toys scattered on the floor, but as usual, she would ignore all of them just to get her teddy bear, hugging it tightly.

Although Lara didn't have as much time to draw as she used to, due to working too much and helping to take care of Kuchel, Lara had improved her artistic skills a bit more, making the forest painting again with the baby animals in her younger sister's bedroom. Lara also finally managed to paint the starry sky on the ceiling, which delighted Kuchel when she saw the finished work, where she exclaimed "Pwetty! Pwetty!"

When they were done with the moving at the end of the day, the four of them lay down on the three U-shaped couches in the living room, in front of the fireplace, with Kuchel sprawled on the floor, because despite not having lifted a finger to carry a single diaper of hers, she had run across and around the new house and now was exhausted. Panting, Kuchel turned to her older sister, who was leaning on Armin, who was practically drooling from sleepiness, and said in an authoritative tone:

"Wanna my bottle! Wanna sleep!"

Grumbling with exhaustion, Lara went to the kitchen to prepare the girl's bottle. When she returned to the living room, Armin was now literally drooling on the new couch, sleeping soundly. Lara handed the bottle to Kuchel, who started to drink it, but it didn't take two minutes until she was already sleeping on the floor. A little groggy, Hange took her to the crib, while Levi mustered up the energy to make a quick dinner, so they could eat and sleep soon. Lara had to practically carry Armin from the couch to the dining table and he ate with his eyes closed.

It was great to be back to a place that brought back good memories of when they lived in Paradis. Since they were living closer to downtown, now Lara had more time to draw, and Armin to read his books. The couple could also dedicate a few more hours of their week to plan their future. Hange and Levi were also able to spend more time together. While Armin and Lara left for work and Kuchel slept soundly in her bedroom during her afternoon naps, Levi and Hange would take the opportunity to make up for the time they couldn't make love due to Hange's risky pregnancy and Levi's accident.

A few months later, Sasha gave birth to a cute baby boy named Ben, who was said to have an appetite as voracious as his mother's, much to Niccolo's desperation. He had opened a small restaurant downtown and was doing very well, with Sasha making a point of trying every dish before putting them on the menu.

Days later, on a pleasant Sunday morning, the Ackerman/Arlert Family was having breakfast.

Kuchel, sitting in her baby highchair, was having a hearty argument with Levi, who could have sworn that the girl had already eaten two omelets, while she claimed that she had only eaten one. To their utter astonishment, Lara intervened, informing them that they were both wrong and that Kuchel had eaten three omelets, as she had prepared them herself.

At one point, after laughing at the situation, Hange asked:

"When do you guys intend to start building your house? I'm excited to see the final project!"

Lara and Armin looked at each other with an optimistic smile.

"By our count, we believe we can get started next month," happily replied Armin, squeezing Lara's hand.

"Yeah," she agreed, smiling and returning her fiancé's affection. "We also have to start planning our wedding party and honeymoon, 'cause soon we'll reach our two-year engagement anniversary."

"Huh?! Already?!" asked Levi, giving Kuchel orange juice in a straw. "But, you got engaged yesterday!"

"Look at Kuchel's size, Dad," said Lara, pointing to the girl, who was tapping the spoon on the highchair tray, "She'll soon turn two. We got engaged a few months before she was born, have you forgotten?"

Levi stared at a fixed point, wide-eyed, not believing that this much time had already passed, while the others laughed at his face (Kuchel was too busy to laugh, now spilling the juice on the floor).

"Where do you plan on spending your honeymoon?" asked Hange, while Levi cleaned the floor and had his hair pulled violently by his youngest daughter.

"There's this region here in Italy which it's said to be perfect for honeymooners, and we thought of going there," replied Lara, gazing at Armin with a twinkle in her eye.

"Really?! What's it called?!" asked Hange, now quite curious.

"Tuscany," replied Armin with excitement. "It is said it's a gorgeous place! From what we researched, it has old buildings, museums, squares, vineyards, and even a hot air balloon ride!"

In a sudden movement, Hange turned to Levi, shaking him.

"Oh, babe! You could take me there after Lara and Armin get married, huh?! We spent our two honeymoons at home! I wanna travel too!"

Levi returned her gaze with an expression of boredom, feeling a sharp pain in his scalp, so much his daughter had pulled him. He was a bit lazy to travel, since he was a more homely person and didn't trust the cleaning quality in hotels.

"If you guys want, you can leave Kuchel at our house and go," said Lara, looking at her little sister, who enjoyed the possibility of being up to some mischief in her older sister's future house.

Hange was thrilled with the idea and Levi said he would think about it. Then, he asked:

"Do you plan on inviting many people to the wedding party?"

Armin and Lara looked at each other and shrugged.

"I don't think so," she replied. Lara was thoughtful for a while, "I believe about fifty people will be enough, right, babe?" she turned to Armin, who agreed. "We won't spend too much on the party, 'cause we wanna use the money for our house and honeymoon. Besides, we're also trying to save money to buy our own car, although this may have to be left for later..."

"You're right," approved Levi, cleaning Kuchel's highchair, which was soaked in juice.

Hange chuckled.

"I think you better put an extra seat in the party hall."

Everyone looked at her, confused.

"Why?" asked Armin, taking a sip of his tea.

To their surprise, Hange stood up and placed her hands on her belly, with a big smile.

"Because we have another Tiny-Human-Bean coming!"
