CHAPTER THREE

"Truth or dare, Violet". Dora asked with an eye roll "and please don't say Dare again, I'm running out of ideas. Can't you just pick Truth and make this easy for everyone". She sighed looking defeated at Violet who was trying to hold her laughter in

Violet knew exactly what Dora meant. She knew this was the reason Dora always wanted to play T&D, but two can play this game. Putting on a poker face she looked at a frustrated Dora "what do you mean, I'm just picking my choice. Besides you brought up this game so suck it up". She stuck out her tongue

"And you know exactly why I did so why don't you help us all and just spit it out already". Dora gave her a pointed look

"Spit what out already Dora. I'm in the dark regarding what you're talking about, help me out here". Violet exaggerated a sigh. She really is tired of Dora been stuck on that topic lately

"Okay, I'll help you out here since you've decided to act ignorant. Do you or do you not have a crush on my brother". Dora raised a brow, Violet was about responding when she added "and refusing to answer my question would make me believe I'm right. Just to you know you can't lie and I'm always right". She completed but Violet only raised a brow at her last sentence

"Okay maybe not always right but my intuitions are always right" Violet only folded her arms "okay I get it, I'm not always right, I'm hardly ever right. But that besides the point, answer my question". She also folded her hands and an gave her a pointed look

They engaged in staring contest for a really long while before Violet sighed defeated and broke the contest. Dora tried to hide her smile, at least engaging in staring contest with Daniel over who would have their mother's last piece of pie paid off, though she haven't won against him

Just as Violet opened her mouth to talk a voice was heard "Dora?". They both turned at the sound of the voice to see Daniel standing few feet from them, dressed in a dark coloured Jean and brown shirt. Violet didn't know if she should be thankful for the distraction or feel nervous from his presence. But one could clearly see and tell Dora's expression. "Danny". She muttered with a sound in between scowl and groan as she narrowed her eyes into slit at a confused Danny

"What's wrong with your eyes, did something happen, you look angry". Daniel gave a blank look as he walked towards where they were seated on the lawn

"Well I don't just look angry, I am angry. Wanna guess why?". She paused like she wanted him to say something but continued anyway "because someone choose to interrupt a very important question at a very crucial moment". She said annoyed, her eyes still narrowed at him

"You both can keep talking. I'll just stay here and try not to listen at all". He shrugged settling himself few feet away his back resting upon the bark of a tree with his eyes closed

""Like hell we'll keep talking while you're sitting there". Dora rolled her eyes

"Language Dora, language. Wouldn't want mum restricting you from any pies now would you". He whispered loud enough for them to hear, his eyes still closed. Dora's eyes widened at his hidden threat while Violet couldn't help but chuckle which earned her a glare. Dora returned her glare to Daniel but with more intensity. If lasers where coming put of her eyes, she'd have made different holes in him and the trees

"Don't make your eyes fall off Dora. Glaring at me won't kill me". He sighed like an adult correcting a child for her mischiefs, his eyes are still closed but a small smile could be spotted on his lips. This made Violet heart skip a beat she couldn't help but stare at him in awe until he suddenly opened his eyes to stare intensely at her then close them back like nothing happened though this time without the barest hint of a smiles. To say her heart nearly jumped out of her rib cage would be an understatement, what just happened. She looked at Dora to see if she witnessed what had occurred but instead she found her sulking in her world

Violet was still lost in her world when suddenly she felt a hand on her mouth wanting to make her scream, until she looked up to see Dora who had a finger from her free hand on her lips indicating for her to keep quite. "What do you think you're doing". She harshly whispered, her stupid friend had almost given her an heart attack

"Shh, keep your voice down. Come on, stand up let's go talk in a more secluded area away from this brother of mine". Dora whispered her face close to hers

"What are you-". Violet began saying as she glanced at Daniel -who seems to be unaware of his surrounding- but was cut off my a grinning Dora who's face is still close to hers

"Just keep quite Violet and followed me for once". Dora rolled her eyes. Violet didn't like been commanded and wanted to argue but decided not, instead she frowned at Dora to show her disapproval but instead all Dora did was roll her eyes then raised a brow

Violet hesitated "I don't know Dora" she said uncertainty evidence in her voice but instead Dora just sighed softly "come on Violet, he won't even notice we're gone. That boy sleeps like a wood, just like what he's resting on. Takes a blaring horn from mum right in both his and dad's ears to wake them up" she rolled her eyes with a small smile on her lips

Violet couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at Dora's description, while Dora found fun in exaggerating things she was sure that she is mostly right, he does seem like the time to sleep deep. Something he has in common with her. Her dad teases her saying whenever he decides to wake her up he can't help but always get confused as he debates, who's his daughter and which is the wood. A trait she didn't acquire from any of her parent, since they are light sleepers just like Dora

"Violet we haven't got all day". Dora grunted still in her face. She rolled her eyes before pushing Dora's face from hers and nodded "alright". She nodded and something told her she'd regret this

"Yes!". Dora squealed before her eyes widened and she quickly looked over to her brother who didn't seem to have heard her. Releasing a breath she didn't realize she was holding she grinned at Violet extending her hand

Violet shook her head and accepted the hand. And just as Dora pulled her away she secretly look behind them to Daniel, and she could have sworn she saw a ghost of smile on his face, but just as she was about to look closer to confirm it Dora pulled her forward making her stumble. Glaring at Dora who's now staring sheepishly at her as she muttered an apology, she rolled her eyes with a nod accepting it then looked behind but the smile was gone and Daniel seemed like someone in a deep sleep unawares of his surrounding

"Did I imagine it". She muttered under her breath

"Uh?". Dora asked confused sparing her a glance before returning it back to scan for a secluded area

"Nothing". Violet shook her head. She has forgotten that Dora has a really large hearing range. Dora just shrugged at her reply

"Found it". Dora beamed pulling Violet along as she finally found an area which isn't secluded but is as secluded as any secluded area in a public park can be
