5 YEARS LATER
Violet couldn't stop the grin that had found its way onto her face since last night before she slept, during dinner. Even her dad kept teasing her that she looked like a goofy monkey.
"A cute princess monkey". He had added when she glared at him. She wasn't sure if he added that to make her feel better, because if he did, it didn't work. Though to avenge his insult, she had given him the silent treatment only agreeing to forgive him if he bought her some things on her wish list. Which he promised to do first thing today morning.
Not entirely surprisingly today, she had woken up quite early and refreshed than she usually does, even before the cock in the neighborhood had woken up but instead of getting off her bed, she decided to just lie there and reminisce about the events that have taken place in her place.
When the aroma of her mum's specially made pancakes made it way into her room, teasing her nostrils. She decided to get off the bed and begin her day
"Good morning to me". She smiled cheekily to her wall length mirror as she checked herself out before making her way into the bathroom to actually begin her day
"Good morning mum". A grinning Violet greeted Anabelle hugging her from behind, as she poured the last content in the frying pan unto a plate
"Good morning princess, how was your night". Anabelle asked as she put down the pan and turn around to face her daughter, placing her hands on her cheeks
"The best ever". Violet grinned bending a bit to place a kiss on her mother's forehead
"Happy birthday love. I'm so proud of you". Anabelle said with misty eyes, love evident as she smiled
Violet smiled back also bending a little again to her mother could also kiss her forehead
"I love you mum"
"I love you more princess"
"What am I missing?". Philip called out as he walked into the house holding a few shopping bags in hand. Then dropped them on the cushion and walked to the kitchen
"Daddy!". Violet squealed running into his hands
"Here she is, my princess. Happy birthday to you". He grinned hugging her back.
"Thank you dad". She smiled in his chest. Though she's a bit taller than her mother, her father is still more taller
"I love you princess, always have, always will, never forget that". He smiled at her, as he broke the hug to hold her shoulders a bit from him
She nodded at him with misty eyes "I love you to dad"
He smiled back then bent down to give her a kiss on the forehead
"That's my adorable princess. And wow you woke up quite early today. I thought I'd have to come drag you off the bed like usual". He grinned while she groaned, then he turned them both to her mother "and there is my amazing queen". He said also giving his wife a kiss on the forehead and wrapping his hand around her waist
"And here I thought I was forgotten". Anabelle raised a brow. An act she perfected just yesterday
"I knew I shouldn't have let Violet teach you that". Philip groaned gesturing to her brows and a narrowed his eyes at Violet
"Don't pull me into this". Violet raised her hands
"Leave the innocent girl alone Philip"
"You hear that dad, I'm innocent". Violet smiles cheekily
Philip scowl in pretence annoyance when his eyes caught the food laid out on the counter for breakfast
"The highlight of every man's morning, food". He grinned his attention now on the served food
"Don't forget to wash those hands first". Anabelle reminded just as he put his hand forward to take a bit
"Ugh! Why remind me at the wrong time".
Anabelle only raised a brow at him and shook her head as he went towards the sink to wash his hands while Violet tried to hide her chuckle. Her family will always be the best

"Wake up, sleepy head. It's your birthday. Happy birthday love". Monica said as she drawn the curtains open to reveal the early morning sun which happily found it way through the window plane brightening the room
"Ugh! Just a little more sleep mum". Dora groaned pulling the blanket over her head as she turned away from the window
Monica stared at her now 20 year old daughter who though has changed in physical appearance is yet change in her behavior, not that she wants her too
"You already slept in Dora". Monica shook her head "this is so unlike you, usually you're the first to wake up. Then you go screaming like a banshee at everyone's door, telling us to wake up"
"I don't scream like a banshee, that is me singing my heart out". Dora protested pulling the blanket down to narrow her eyes at her mother who tried to hide her grin
"That's singing?. Wow, I really should have gotten you a dictionary when you were younger". Monica said shaking her head
"Mother!". Dora exclaimed. She only called her parents mother and father whenever she's serious, annoyed or embarrassed. And right now, she's everything
"What?". Monica asked innocently
Dora narrowed her eyes at her but Monica still kept her poker face which made Dora groaned
"I need to save enough to pack out". Dora mumbled under her breath as she finally unwrapped herself from the blanket and got down from the bed
"Do give me the money, when you've saved enough. I know a house you could rent". Monica said
"You wish". She scoffed just as she entered the bathroom and banged the door shut with a bit of force.
"I heard that and you shouldn't bang the door like that, else you use the money for renting a house to fix it when it breaks off the hinges". Monica teasingly warned
"That would be your fault mum, not mine. So I won't be fixing a thing. And just why are you after my money!". Dora exclaimed
"Because it's your money of course. Who else would spend it if not me".
"Uh, me durrr"
"Yeah, whatever rolls your boat. I'll be downstairs making breakfast". Monica said
"I'm having a double serving!". Dora called back behind the bathroom door. Monica only shook her head before heading down to make breakfast and begin the day
"Not until I get some rent money from you young lady". Monica called out
"I don't even have such money". Dora exclaimed behind the door exasperated. While Monica only laughed before closing the room door and walked downstairs with a grin stuck on her face
"Mum's crazy but I love her". Dora smiled to herself in the bathroom mirror as she brushed her teeth

"Happy birthday brain head". Daniel greeted Dora ruffling her hair, just as she came out of her room to head downstairs
"What the hell is wrong with you". Dora glared at him annoyed as she tried to comb her hair down with her fingers. Key word 'tried'
"Hey you look better this way". Daniel protested ruffling her hair once again
"Daniel!!". Dora exclaimed annoyed
"What? Why so grumpy today. Woke up with a bug in your panties?". He smirked still ruffling her hair
"Goodness Daniel. You're impossible". She shook her head before ignoring him to head downstairs but Daniel wasn't done
"Or possibly you're aware I ate the cake you insisted you'd bake yesternight after mum and dad had gone to bed?". Daniel asked innocently
"What?!!!". Dora exclaimed loudly
"What in the world is that Dora? A screaming banshee?". Daniel complained covering his ears but Dora has already ran down to check on the cake in the freezer
"My cake! Where in the freezer is my cake?". Dora asked frantically to no one in particular as she ran into the kitchen to the freezer
"You should learn to take a joke, Dora. I was only kidding". Daniel's voice ran through her ears as she sighed in relief upon sighting her handmade and decorated cake sitting undisturbed in the freezer
"You!". She glared fiercely at Daniel who's eyes went wide like saucer "you'd better run". She added now closing the freezer to turn to him
"Oh no!". Daniel muttered as he ran for his dear life around the house with Dora on his toes
