"I'm ready!". Violet exclaimed standing in front of three people who couldn't help but stare at her in amazement as they stood up
"Marvelous". Dora shrieked
"Beautiful". Annabelle smiled staring lovingly at her
Their actions made Violet grin but one person was yet to reply and staring at him she noticed him staring at her with misty eyes as he gazed affectionately into hers "like a princess". He muttered almost making everyone there cry
"Dad". She ran into his arms trying to hide her tears
"You'll always be my little princess regardless". He whispered to her making her nod
"I love you". She whispered
"I love you more princess Violeta Anastasia Archakos". He whispered back grinning
"Not the full name dad". She groaned
"But that's who you are". He grinned
"Mum, are you sure he's the one you married?". She asked Annabelle -who had been staring lovingly at them along with Dora- as she broke the hug wiping the tears which had found their way down her cheek
"A hundred percent". Annabelle smiled hugging her daughter
"I love you mum"
"I love you more my dear. Happy birthday again, wishing you pure happiness". Annabelle whispered in her eyes
Dora couldn't help the small sad smile on her lips as she watched the family of three openly display their love. It wasn't that her family didn't love each other, it's quite the opposite. They love each other, they could even die for eachother, but it's just they aren't really open to displaying their affections, except their parents, though they don't even really do it openly. But regardless, she knows they all love her.
But she couldn't help the creeping sadness. Violet's parents had wished her happy birthday while only her dad had wished her. Even though her mother had made reference to it, they didn't directly wish her.
Turning her gaze to Dora's face. Violet noticed she looked a bit sad as she stared at them though her mind was far away. Breaking out of her mother's hug she bounced on Violet giving her a huge bear hug and she whispered "I love you Dora. Thank you for everything". She smiled genuinely
Dora though shocked and scared at first couldn't help but also smile "am I expected to say I love you more, cause sorry to burst your bubbles but I don't". She teased making Violet roll her eyes
"Way to go and spoil the moment".
"But you love me anyway. And I guess I love you too just as much or maybe a tiny bit more". Dora grinned
"Whatever bursts your bubbles". Violet rolled her eyes again breaking off the hug though there's still a smile on her face
"Wait a minute, now take a proper look at the dresses. They look so familiar". Dora exclaimed after staring at their dresses in concentration
"Yh. Oh My God! That's true, how come I didn't notice it early". Violet exclaimed, also noticing it. While Hers is blue and pink with her favourite colour, Dora's is pink and yellow, her favorite color too and they had both picked pink leggings to go along with it. Guess they both thought alike. Dora, unlike her younger self, is now much thinner though not as much as Violet. Her baby fat had been lost to exercise and adolescence, though her cheeks are still evident of her fats along with her curvy body which could leave any man amazed if she wore a tight fitted dress. Something she hasn't done since their highschool prom and has swore not too since it caused 'accidents'
"Does yours have a matching tiara?". They both asked each other "oh my God! It does! We're matching! I can't believe this!". They squealed together before it clicked. Turning to Violet's parents who had bright smiles on their faces
"Mum, dad. Did you guys know about this". Violet asked unsure
"Well now you're ready, Dora is here. Time to go and have your fun. You girls should take care. Love you both, muah. Bye". Philip said successfully closing the door on their faces as he pushed then out dumbfounded
"That was close". Philip grinned as he winked at Annabelle who only shook her head, trying to hide the smile forming on her face
"What just happened". Dora asked confused
"They are hiding something. They've been acting weird since morning". Violet said
"Even mine, they practically pushed me out of the house. Sometimes not right. They are all definitely up to something. I think even Daniel is in on it". Dora said deep in thought. "Could they be planning a surprise party?". She asked unable to hide her squeal
"Yh and I'm a real princess". Violet snorted walking down the doorstep to the front lawn, Dora following her lead . "I don't think so. My parents have never planned one. All they do is decorate the room, my room especially and bake the night before. And on our birthday, you come around, spend most of the morning with my family then we leave to spend time together and then spend the day with your family and later. I leave your house to go to mine, and my parents and I go for dinner in a restaurant or just go somewhere to celebrate". Violet explained
"Same here though most times we just spend the rest of my birthday at home after you're gone, though I think we only went out about 2 to 3 times". Dora said
"Then what are they planning?. We even got matching dresses. And it's more weird that they changed the normal sequence of event". Violet thought
"Hey, did you know my dad and yours met while on their morning exercise?". Dora asked
"No. Dad didn't mention it"
"Oh. My dad told me they did. Said something about your dad wanting to get you some of your wish list so he decided to tag along to do the same. He came back with a bunch of shopping bags. Didn't know he'd even remember it at all"
"Even mine came back with shopping bags. Though I kinda made him get them so I'd forgive him". Violet giggled remembering last night
"Really! What did you do". Dora's eyes gleamed in glee
"Nothing much really". Violet shrugged before explaining what happened
"Girl, you're slick". Dora grinned giving her a thumbs up
"I know". Violet flicked her head behind her then fave Dora a wink making them both burst out laughing
"Hey! Girl, we're wearing the same sneaker". Violet squealed now noticing Dora's footwear
"Oh yh, we definitely are. We sure are matching. You know we look like twins right now. Especially with the height, hair and eye colour, much less the dressing". Dora grinned
"You bet we do. We are the twinning besties!!". Violet grinned as they hugged
"Okay we need to stop making so much noise. We're getting weird looks''. Dora chuckled noticing the stares they're getting
"Yh totally. I still have some reputation left". Violet chuckled along as they walked to Dora's car which was parked 3 houses away
"Where's your tiara by the way?". Dora asked
"Left it. You?". Violet shrugged
"Same". She shrugged back
"So you brought my baby huh?". Violet wiggled her brows when she saw the bright red Honda
"You mean my baby". Dora flicked her again sashaying towards her baby red, as she calls it, her birthday gift from her parents when she turned 18 and graduated high school.
"Same thing, after all she's just like my baby aqua". Violet stuck out her tongue
"Don't remind me. It seems things keep getting weird since we turned 18. Our parents keep getting us similar stuff almost like it's planned. It was cute at first, but now it's getting weird and creepy". Dora shivered lightly memories of her getting her car coming to mind as she unlocked it to get in
It was the evening of their prom, right when she was about to leave for prom when her parents said they had a surprise for her, took her out to show her the car and gave her the keys. She was so happy she had jumped into their hands crying and almost ruining her makeup, thank God it was waterproof. After that she had tried calling Violet up to tell her but her number was busy. Only when they met at prom did they realize they had tried calling each other, hence the call problem. Also more to their surprise they had both been given cars as their gift and not until the next morning when they went to celebrate did they realize that it was the same car just different colours. Dora's red to represent her as a raging rising star while Violet's aqua blue because it represents her being a serene and calm storm. Weird themes, but that's how their parents put it and they'd have it no other way. It's why on the bonnet and the door each car had some words written on it 'The Raging Rising Star' and 'The Serene Calm Storm' on baby red and baby aqua respectively.
"Tell me about it". Violet rolled her eyes also getting it
"Ready to move". Dora smirked hands on the keys
"Ready as I can be". Violet smirked back
"Tighten your seatbelt!!". Dora yelled just as she turned in the ignition, set the car in motion and they zoomed off causing a bit of smoke. Violet connected the radio to her phone and their favorite music began blaring right through it as they kept shouting on top of their lungs singing along. For a second, they were glad the windows were tinted and closed with only the small roof top opened. But later, they could care less since they opened it to let it the fresh air as it played with their hairs and they kept singing along with the blaring music
This is a friendship. One that would break everyone connected even with a little crack. For its a bond so strong, everyone connected practically depends on it
