CHAPTER FOUR

"Dora! Violet! Hurry over here! Mum, Dad". Daniel shouted from the garden, panic in his voice, just as Violet turned to go into the kitchen

Both girls stared eyes wide at each other before scrambling towards the garden. Just as they burst through the door and into the garden a basket full of confetti fall right on them as they heard a scream of "happy birthday"

"What the hell?". Dora said confusion laced in her voice

"Mum? Dad?". Violet narrowed her eyes in confusion upon sighting her parents among the commotion

"Didn't you say something had happened to mum and dad. And why are Violet's parents here?". Dora asked giving Daniel a confused look

"Well I never said anything happened to mum and dad. I only shouted out to you and mentioned them. You were the one who's brain made up something". Daniel shrugged earning him a glare from both girls

"Well how else were we supposed to have reacted? There was a clear panic in your voice". Violet rolled her eyes "and why again are my parents here". She added

"Look around you girls''. Daniel rolled his eyes as he gestured widely with his hands. Only then did the girls look around them well to notice the decorations.

The garden has been decorated to utmost perfection using the colours pink, blue and yellow as the theme with pink being the main colour since it is the favorite color they have in common

"Wow. Another surprise party? I'm loving this birthday. It's the best ever!". Dora squealed

"This is so beautiful and magical. I love this! You're right Dora, it is the best ever!". Violet squealed too and they both began walking around the garden inspecting the decorations with gleaming eyes

"Cake!". Dora screamed as she sighted a two-layer cake placed in a corner where there were also different snacks and some food. The cake icing was mostly pink in colour with a bit of white and on it were two princess dolls -made of plastic with icing layered ball gown- holding hands. "And snacks". Her mouth watered, sighting the table of different snacks "and food" she swooned almost fainting but was stabilised by Violet who shook her head at her friend while the others laughed.

"You make it seem as if you haven't eaten since you woke up today when in reality, you've eaten more than anyone can digest and you still want more". Violet said in disbelief "you sure you're not housing an endless pit down there?" She added a gesture to Dora's stomach.

"I just don't want the food to go to waste Violet, don't attack on my good deed". Dora stuck her tongue out. Violet only snorted at her reply

"You don't have an excuse to be a foodie Dora, we all know it already". Daniel grinned few feet away earning him a glare to which he just smiled cheekily

"Okay let's get back to the surprise". Philip clapped calling everyone's attention back

"So how did you girls like the surprise?". Monica asked with a smile

"Who's idea was it?". Violet spoke up after a while

"The surprise or the joining of the family part?". Anabelle asked

"Both". Dora chirped in

"Daniel's". Monica smiled gesturing to flustered Daniel who's gaze was on anywhere but the girls

"Wow brother who knew you had a brain back there. Good thing it wasn't all dust as I thought". Dora snickered making everyone laugh except Daniel who rolled his eyes and Violet whose expression is not readable

"So how do you like it?". Anabelle asked again

"I love it, just how I'd have wanted a surprise party of mine to me, not to much not to less, perfect combination. I must say you all did a perfect job, blending both mine and Violet's taste in a way its not contradicting each other but instead making them compliment each other". Dora said grinning as she now observed the decorations

"Well that's great to hear, because though he brought the idea, we made the designs well with directions from him. I'm pretty sure if it weren't for him, we'd have gone overboard with everything. Still a mystery to me how he knows just how you both would want it". Anabelle smiled gesturing to Daniel who looked abashed and had a pink tint on his ear tips

"Wow, Daniel are you blushing?". Dora asked in disbelief

"What? Of course not". Daniel denied with vigor making everyone laugh though Violet only smiled while he scowled

"There's nothing bad in blushing Dan, it's all nature". Philip teased him

"I wasn't blushing". He was mortified as he tried hiding his ear tips which had gone red. Each action made everyone laugh again

"Leave the poor boy alone Philip, don't tease him too much". Anabelle scolded him half-heartedly with a smile of her own

"Let the party begin. Daniel please put on the music". Philip said

Nodding Daniel walked towards the loud speaker a bit far away from the where the snacks are. Just as he was about turning the speaker on he heard Dora, who was few feets away with Violet, ask Violet a question which made him pause while his heart began beating erratically. Then he began pretending to be making s

"Violet you're yet to give your opinion. What do you think about everything". Dora asked Violet with a smile

Violet let her gaze wander around again for a flirt second. Then turning to her best friend with a small smile she nodded approvingly "it's just like how I'd love it to be".

Daniel let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. And a giant smile broke out on his face but no could notice it since he was backing them

"Same here". Dora nodded and both girls stared at each other for a while before grinning then held hands and walked towards their parents

"Isn't it turning on?" Eric asked when Daniel was yet to put the speaker on

Coming back to reality with a chuckle he replied "just a second" before turning the speaker on. Immediately loud music began blaring from it, filling the atmosphere with a light and calm aura.

"Get the party started….move your hips like you're wasted….the day is all yours baby….. Tonight I'll be your lady….so hold me tight….hold me right...my love is yours…..and yours is mineeeee…..". Both Violet and Dora sang out loud as they danced around with huge grins on their faces.
