Chapter 5 : The party

We arrived home and went straight to my bed room. "Okay so we got two hours to get ready, and I have to text Blake that am at your house so he should come with Logan.

Okay good idea. I will go and freshen up whiles you call him. I went in the bathroom and went under the shower . I did my business and then came out. "Okay am done Karen you can gsjo inside.

After Karen went to the bathroom, l heard my cellphone ring. I looked at the screen and saw my mom calling. I picked the call.

Hello mom what's up? "Ellen are you home? Yes why wouldn't I be. "I just called to check up on and ask how your first day went". It was okay I lied. But there is a little truth in that. I thought. Everything was cool today and I have found a new best friend and she is the best. Her name is Karen. "That's great news darling". Yes I know right.

And another thing, am going on a date tonight with a guy. "What! you are going on a date on your first day in school with a boy you don't know anything about".

No mom, I know a little about him, and Karen is also going with his friend so is like a double date. "Oh darling I can't believe I won't be there to see you or dress you up". That has been taken care off mom everything is under control.

"Okay listen Ellen, don't do anything irresponsible like drinking alcohol or having sex with him". Wooo, time out mom. No one is going to have sex. It's a decent party and there will be adult there.

"All right that's good but still look out for those horney teenagers okay". Okayyyyy, mom I hear you. No drinking of alcohol and no sex. "That's my girl, now when you are done please take selfish and pics so that I will see how my beautiful girl looked".

Okay mom am you're gonna make me late so good bye. "Okay bye love, and say hi to your new friend for me". Okay mom I said.

Karen came out when I was disconnecting the call.

"Great mom". I nodded in response. "I mean I practically heard all your conversation. Except her part". I chuckled. I told that she would start to pep talk me when she finds out am going on date. "You did say that but I didn't think it was that serious. She said laughing.

"Let's end play time here. We got a date to catch". She said making a face putting a hand on her waist and tilting her head slightly up. Huh, what are you doing? Are you trying to sound like a super hero.

"Did it work?"

No don't do that again it sounded awful. "Oh don't be silly, I sounded great".

You know we could stand here all day and talk about your heroness and forget about going to the party course we have only a hour and a half a quarter minutes to get ready.

"Oh right let's begin with the makeup". Arrhmm, I don't know much about makeup so I don't know this is gonna work out for me.

"Don't worry darling, course you got yourself a makeup genius". Don't say that. "What". The word 'darling' because it makes you sound like my mother.

"Help me do my makeup and get dressed first and I will take my time and do yours". Okay let's start. We did her makeup first then her dress. We were now deciding the type of shoe and purse she should take we finally choose a black sparkle purse and a red heel. You look really beautiful Karen. I mean wow, I always thought you are beautiful but tonight you are gorgeous.

Thanks you, she blushed and said. "But now is time to turn you into the diamond of the night. Now sit, it's time for me to work my magic".

I sat down and she applied a lot of makeups that I didn't even know of. Karen, don't you think it's too much.

"Shut up and just sit quietly. Do you want to ruin my hard work. You will be thanking me when am done". I groaned in frustration.

I sat silently waiting for her to finish whatever she was doing. My eyes fell on the clock and I gasped. Karen we will be late, we've all ready spent an hour and a half already we got only thirty minutes left. "Wait am almost done.

"Okay done".

Give me mirror to she how bad you've panted my fa a... . All my words got caught in my throat when I saw my face in the mirror. The girl I saw in the mirror wasn't me. It was a girl who looked like a goddess. I was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.

"I know you are about to thank me but there's no need, I know how great I am". I smiled through teared eyes. "Don't you dare cry and ruin my makeup. I used all my creative and hard work to do this art so please don't let your tear fall".

I took her hand, thank you so much. I didn't think I could look like this. "Shh, my makeup hasn't done anything but you. You are the face that brighten up my makeup. I have done makeup for many people but none has shined like you".

"Okay let's get you in your dress, we've already wasted a lot of time". I took out my dress and wore it. I was about to go into my wardrobe to look for my heels but Karen stopped me.

"You didn't think I would let you buy the dress without any shoes or purse. I knew that if I told you, you wouldn't allow it so I secretly bought it along it our dress".

She took out a bag and removed a beautiful shoes and purse. I was blown away by how beautiful they were. It's really beautiful, it must cost a dime. "No it wasn't at all costly. Like I said the shop sells beautiful thing but they are cheap".

Thank you Karen. I mean we don't know each other that much and you've all ready done so much for me. "It's nothing, that's what friends are for. Now wear it and let me see how good it looks on you". I wore it.

Tell me how do I look. She took a second to respond. "You look perfect". I smiled, So do you. "Now let's wrap it up, the guys will be here soon". Okay, I responded.

We heard the door bell rang when we we applying some perfumes. "Ellen am going to meet them. Come down when you are ready but don't take too long please". Oh come on don't exaggerate it's not like am not finished. She chuckled in response and left the room.
