Ch. 118 Kara's Past

-Kara-

It was much harder saying goodbye this time but after making sure the General was on our side it put me at ease

After saying goodbye we part ways and I head straight for Ba Sing Se

There I picked up the bisons trail and within a week I found Rhea hiding out in a cabin with Odin and the kids

"Daddy, yay! You really did come back!" Hestia cries before jumping into my arms

"Waaaa!" The boy follows her lead and jumps into my arms

"This is Poseidon. He's kind of dumb." Hestia whispers as if her brother had any clue what she was saying.

"Poseidon, huh? What an awesome name." I set them down

"Wait until you have another boy with mama. We're going to name him Zeus!" She jumps

"A-another one?" I chuckle nervously

"Yeah, you're going to have one thousand babies with mommy! And we're all going to live down here and have so much fun!"

"Hmm." I smile after getting a glimpse of her wild imagination

After spending the entire day with Rhea and the kids we take a bath by a creek before going to bed

I woke up bright and early the following morning

It was about five in the morning Rhea and I were just laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling

"Zeus does sound pretty awesome."

"Wh-what?" She blushes

"I'm kidding." I sit up

"Where are you going?" She asks as I stretch my back

"Train…"

"F-for what?"

…

"You said-."

"I know what I said, but things are different now. The Avatar can't beat the Fire Lord by himself anymore."

"Is that true? Do you really believe that?"

"I do and it's because of me."

"No it-."

"I had him killed, Rhea. If he isn't dead then he's out of commission. Do you understand?"

"Wh-what? B-but why would you…"

"I have to do this."

After heading out, I find myself a large body of water two miles from the cabin

The invasion will be in three weeks. After that we'll have another month until the arrival of Sozin's comet

I have until then to raise my physical strength to at least a quarter that of the colossal titan

"Hmm." I smile

This should be plenty fun

-Kara-

I was back in school after a week of suspension

One month later I got into a fight with Kaitos best friend

This time it was me who started it. I didn't beat him nearly as badly as Kaito. Even so, Mister Ignia bathed me with super cold water and spanked my butt

It really hurt and I swear it's been numb ever since but I haven't picked any fights after that

Soon the year was over and we were beginning fourth grade. Well, Mia and I. Ignia was starting fifth grade. Although I do have him for math since I'm super smart in that.

"Waa, no!" I kick my feet as Mister drags me out of the closet

"Hahaha. I found you!"

"Wahhahahahaha! Hahahaha." I laugh hysterically as he tickles my ribs "Stop it-it tickles. Hyahahaha-hahahaha. Stop it. Please, stop it Papa." I cry before he finally stops

"Hehehe." He giggles

Oops I didn't mean to call him-.

"Hya! Leave him alone!" Mia punches and kicks at his leg

"Oh no!" He turns around just as Ignia climbed onto his back

"Your fight is with us now!" Ignia giggles

I was about to jump into the fight when Mia gets flung onto me

"Oof!" She coughs

"Hehehe." She smiles widely before Ignia falls on top of her

"H-he's too s-strong." He huffs

"Haha!" Mister Ignia jumps into the air

"Oh no!" I try crawling out before he smashes on top of us

"Hehehe." He giggles

"Oh man, papa you're too fat! And so is ignia!" Mia frowns

"Who are you calling fat?" Ignia pinch's her cheek

"Mia!" Paris calls her from the door

Mister Ignia picks us all up before setting us down

"Coming mommy!" Mia waddles out of bed and joins Paris at the door

"I told you to quit playing with the boys."

"But it's super fun."

"I know, baby." She sighs "Come, it's time for your bath."

"C'mon you two. Into the bath." Mister Ignia pulls his shirt over his head

"Oh Alright." Ignia and I grumble before getting into our trunks and bathing with Mister outside

Then we had dinner and watched a movie.

After that we went to bed. Mia invited me over to look at last year's yearbook

"Look, this was her last year. She was super mean and ugly." She points at Reily on the yearbook

"So what? She's always been nice to me. Plus she's super hot this year."

"Hmm." Mia frowns

"I think Wiley is a boy's name."

"It's Riley. And you can't say that. She's my girlfriend."

"She's my nya-ka." She mocks me

"Hehehe." I giggle

"You'oe so annoying. It's only been a month. How do you have a gilfwiend alweady?" She pouts, every time she does she loses the ability to sound out the letter R for some reason

"What can I say?" I sigh

"She only likes you b'cause you're stwong. And you can beat evewyone up."

"Thank you?"

"Grrr. That wasn't a compwiment!" She shouts

"Shhhhh." I push a finger over her lips "Ignia is asleep"

She blushes

"My point is. She doesn't care about you. She just wants to look cool by having a super stwong boyfwiend."

"Hmm." I think for a second

"Isn't there someone you actually like?"

"Like who?"

"I don't know. Someone who's always been nice to you." She fidgets with her finger nails "maybe someone in our class…" she plays with her hair

"Hmm. I'm not sure. I'm older than everyone in our class so that's kind of weird."

"Grrr." She balls her fists and grits her teeth "fine then, get out of my bed!" She hammers my head over and over with her marshmallow fists

"J-jeez Mia, k-keep it down."

"No, get out! Get out of my bed!" She cries as I back off

"You're going to wake everyone!" I whisper-shout

"Hmph!" She pouts, covering herself with the blanket

The following day we went to school

Mia was back to normal but would often cut our conversations short so I was mostly bored in class

During lunchtime Riley wanted to hang out, but I wanted to play football with Ignia and my buddies so she just sat by and watched

After school I went to her house. Her mom made us some sandwiches and we watched a movie in the living room while her mom did the laundry in the garage

I was tucked into a warm blanket her mom pulled out the dryer

She was wearing a neck tied sundress so I was just staring at her back

It's been awfully boring just hanging out at her house

She shuts her eyes and waits for me to move in

She winced as I set a hand on her waist.

"For the most part?"

"M-most of it is a blur." She rubs her throat

She scoots her butt over to the bedside

"N-nothing.. it um… it hurts." She scoots back onto the bed

"Oh.. umm… w-wait here."

I jump off her bed and I head into the kitchen

After snooping around I find the pills Paris always took after we did dirty things so that she could walk

"Three? Are you sure?"

"Mhmm" I nod

"O-okay…" she pops the pills into her mouth and washes them down with the cup of water I brought her

After a few minutes she finds the strength to stand up

I help her carry the dirty sheets to the washing machine and she makes sure to put them and our clothes to wash while we jumped into the bath

There we scrubbed one another and began making out.

We got out before things could go any further but we ended up touching and kissing while we watched a movie for the rest of the day while our clothes dried

I got a call from Mr. Ignia as she was a king me off that he'd be picking me up soon

"What are you doing Monday?" I ask as I buckle my pants

"Are your parents going to be home?"

"I'm n-not sure. M-Maybe-."

"Aw, jeez. Maybe we can sneak around after school."

"What? You didn't like it?"

"I-I don't know." She shrugs

"I-I…" she trembles

Before I could ask again Mr. Ignia honks outside

"Okay…"

I lean in for a kiss but she pulls away

I thought it was weird.

It was almost like she was scared of me

I turn my head, asking for a kiss

She hesitates before leaning in and pecking my cheek

"Hmm." I give her a little smile

"Hmm" she breaks a little smile before I open the door

I wave on my way to the truck

She waves back as I hop in with Mr. Ignia

"How was your date?"

The truck groans as he puts it into gear

"Kinda boring. All she wanted to do was draw and watch a whole bunch of movies." I shrug

It took him a moment to respond

I heard faint little sniff almost as if he smelled something

He pulls his cigar back and sniffs the tip

After realizing I still smelled a tiny bit from fooling around with Riley I roll the window down

"Yeah? Is that all you did?"

"Y-yeah, and we played hide and seek too…"

"Hmh," he smiles "yeah, that's how it starts. Before you know it's your everyday life." He sighs

"Hm-hmm" I giggle

…

"Oh.. umm… mister?"

"Yeah?"

"I-I'm sorry I called you.. uhh… papa."

"Oh… That? Don't worry about it. I thought it was super cool." He giggles

"Wh-what?"

…

"Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a father. So I'm glad I can play that part in your life."

…

"So feel free to call me whatever you like." He smiles

"Right, thanks mister." I smile widely
