I woke up in the middle of the forest. Assuming it was actually the middle.

The sun was up. from the looks of it...

Mid-dayish?

My clothes are gone and the freezing winter air needles at my numbing skin.

What happened?

I get up and walk.

Hurrying, but unable to go very fast.

No shoes.

You think walking through a forest barefoot is fun?

The answer is no.

Not by a longshot.

But if its any consolation, I stopped feeling my feet some time ago.

Its just so cold.

No sign of life.

Just the wild.

*

Hours have passed and my memories of the night before are returning.

Still no clue how I got here it this damned forest but I clearly remember being stalked by something. The terror of it all presses me to hurry.

Faster!

Faster!!

But my feet bleed now and pain like a sharp metal spike tears through them.

Hurting with each step but forced to move faster chased by the setting sun.

Will it find me again?

Will it chase me again?

DAmn this!

Focused on my thoughts and rushing forward I'm blinded by bright lights.

What? I lift my hands to shield my eyes as they adjust slowly.

Upon lowering them I'm greeted by a nightmare of epic proportions. Countless creatures looked back at me.

The forest had vanished.

Tall structures stood in the place of trees and the things that stared back at me. those horrifying faces.

DArkgreen and slippery looking skin reptilian eyes and long protruding face with slits for noses.

The worst part being the teeth.

Oh God!

The teeth!!

This wouldn't be so bad if that was all. You know normal creatures, these things... why were they walking like humans?

In my panic I edged backwards away from the eyes that were trained on me like afresh juicy piece of meat.

What did they want?

ME!

Probably...

Either way, I would be taking my chances elsewhere!

I stumbled losing my balance only to be caught by slippery hands from behind.

hands that held me strongly and helped me un on my feet accompanied by an. "ARe you OK?"

the creature was tall and lean.

Running wasn't an option so I did the next reasonable thing anyone would've done.

I sat.

Not willingly though.

I sat abruptly as my legs became a jumbled mess of soft spaghetti knots uttering a small scared yelp as I did.

The sound people make when they are scared shitless.

The thing laughed.

it was bigger than the others and obviously held command.

"Don't worry." it said as it stooped coming closer to me, face to terrifying face.

"WE don't eat HUMANs."
