I got to work just in the nick of time, and as I had hoped, Lila was there, I was thinking about how to approach her, for some reason I was nervous.
In the end I just got dressed in my uniform and walked up and said "Hey Lila", with a slight smile, this was very planned out, and I thought it was impressive, the response I got back was surprising though.
"MY NAME IS LILY" she said with as straight a face as possible, I had a mini panic attack that resulted in me just staring at her dead in the eyes for about ten seconds, then she burst out into laughter and said it was "ok, I find that funny" her laugh was cute, so I joined in on the laughing and it was a nice moment.
That took a load off, because I thought I created a completely different impression, but at least she thinks I'm funny.
So after my little comedy sketch, she taught me the basic routine for a waiter; You collect an order, and paste it on the kitchen wall, but you can't overlap orders and you have to remove completed orders, completed orders get taken off the wall and delivered, then there was the matter of customer service, though it was a pretty friendly town there would be one or two mishaps so I have to be calm at all times and accept responsibilities for any mess ups, and always serve with a smile, the rest was pretty common sense.
I did my first shift before but I just washed dishes, today I actually get to wait tables.

WHEW that was kind of hard, but mostly because I'm not used to the routine yet, I can see myself easing into it.
I spilled sauce on my clothes, and had to change, Lily showed me where the extra shirts were, and without thinking I had decided to take my shirt off in front of her, COMPLETELY FORGETTING THE SCARS, the short young woman stared at me intently, with my torso uncovered all my surgery scars were showing, she stared the whole time as if she was reading a book, it didn't feel wierd, my doctor does this all the time, I walked out the changing room without Lila and went back to my shift, she seemed frozen in place, but being who I am, I didn't even think to snap her back to reality and walked back to the semi-busy diner.
I did a 3 hour shift and I get paid 10 dollars and hour, so I don't think that's too bad right? I think today was a good day, I better get home and study, can't wait to get paid this weekend.
