Tyson and Lynn heard Sam's shout. The both of them went running to the living room. They could already feel the slight smell of rotten flesh.
"What do we have to fight zombies?" Tyson asked Lynn.
Lynn looked around. He carried his brush everywhere, but were his recently made friends going to understand that madness? It was really hard for Lynn to accept it at first, and he was the one transforming. How would Sam and Tyson accept the news that the guy they met can transform and summon cannon fodders from stories?
Lynn then saw the log that they had chopped in the morning. Tyson had left most of it in the shed but had brought a few to the cabin, just in case they wanted to use the fireplace. He went there and threw one log to Tyson. "T, catch!"
Tyson almost let the log fall on the floor but caught it at the last minute.
"So… logs? Lynn, I don't think that is going to help us a lot."
Sam then appeared with her bat, "Good thing I didn't clean this in the morning," she said as she swung her bat around.
"Guys, we've got two logs and one bat, and there are a lot of zombies outside," Tyson said as he peeked through the cabin window's curtain.
Lynn then joined him to see if Tyson was exaggerating or not. To their bad luck, zombies were already on view, and there were more orange bright eyes in the forest. Lynn's hands were getting sweaty again. He was having tachycardia again.
"No… I can't transform." Lynn thought.
"So, guys, are we going to fight them, or do we wait for them to attack us?" Tyson asked scared. Lynn could not believe that someone as muscular and tall as Tyson would fear zombies, but from what he remembers from Tyson's retelling, Tyson has never fought zombies. Sam was the one doing all the job.
"The both of you stop babbling! We should smash the bloody hell out of them before they group!" Sam shouted as she headed to the entrance with no fear. Her compact frame marched like a soldier ready for war.
Lynn and Tyson admired Sam's bravery, and it was contagious. The two guys armed in Sam's contagious bravery marched behind her.
"Come on, you stupid blockheads! I'm ready to smash some of your rotten skulls!" Sam shouted a maniac smile plastered on her face.
Lynn was pretty sure that Sam was a sociopath. She felt no empathy that those zombies were humans before and that they had families who worried for them and will never hear of them again.
"Do you guys just know how to gurgle and screech?" Sam shouted as she went to smash her first zombie.
"You guys…"
Smash!
"Are worse…"
Smash!
"Than a piñata!"
Smash and smash!
Sam's stamina was definitely good. She could insult the zombies while smashing them perfectly in the head making all the brain matter splatter everywhere, yet none of the matter fell close to her.
Since Sam was screaming at the zombies, she had a bigger group to fight. Tyson and Lynn were basically in charge of just protecting Sam's back.
"This is endless!" Tyson shouted.
Lynn's arms were getting tired. The log was feeling heavier than what it was a few minutes ago, but his instinct to survive was clearly bigger. After smashing a few more zombies in the head, and some in the neck, his arms were burning.
"I don't think I can continue any longer!" Lynn shouted to Sam and Tyson.
A sea of endless zombies cornered the three of them. The smell of rotting flesh was making the three of them sick. Even Sam was panting.
"Guys... I just want to say that it was good that we met, and for our maybe four hours of friendship," Tyson cried.
"I will not bloody die eaten by these bloody monsters!" Sam shouted as she continued smashing the zombies.
"They are endless, Sam! We won't win!" Lynn shouted. He was about to transform. In other words, Lynn was about to panic and almost pee his pants, wishing for the magic brush to transform him. His grandfather wrote a lot of things in the letter, but it never specified if the brush's power was activated with magic words or what. Just as Lynn was having an internal debate of transforming or not, the useless trio heard ice breaking in the distance.
"What's happening?" Sam shouted never stopping smashing zombies.
"I don't know! Let's hope it's help!" Lynn and Tyson said in unison.
A zombie then came into Lynn's direction, and his arms were so weak, that he even dropped his log to the floor. He started panicking, and he tripped to the floor.
"Ah!" Lynn shouted covering his face as if zombies only bit the face.
Tyson was about to smash the zombie, but a few seconds before the zombie was about to bite Lynn, the zombie became an ice statue.
"What in the world just happened?!" Tyson shouted in disbelief.
Sam was ready to attack the other zombies who then tried to take revenge on their dead teammate when it also happened the same thing and in an instant, all the zombies froze.
Just then, the frozen zombies broke into tiny little pieces, and hidden in the sea of now iced zombies, appeared a woman with long, golden hair that was tied in a ponytail. Her clear sky-blue eyes were like the ice, and she had a voluptuous body. She was maybe 5'6, and she was wearing a light blue dress that hugged closely to her curves. Her age was around her early 20s or maybe mid-20s. She did not look older than that. She looked like a real-life version of the Ice Queen.
"Hm... so, what Merlin left me to take care of was a trio of useless kids?" the woman said as she inspected her nails.
