CHAPTER FIVE

AMARA POV

I woke up in cold sweat. Why? I rarely had nightmares, why now when am in college. I sighed. I should get up and get ready for class. I got out of bed, with my bare feet touching the cold floor, sending chills through my body. My feet stride towards the bathroom and I start doing my morning routine.

The bell rang once I arrived, signaling that its time for the lecture. once I reach the door, someone bumped into my shoulder and all my books fell to the ground, and immediately crouched to pick them up. " Oh my god, I'm very sorry, I-" the person behind said to me, as I tilted my head up to face them, "its okay, its not a big deal", I said as I stood up, to see him handing me the last book.

"Noah" he said, as he stretched his hand out to signal that I should shake it. A bit hesitant, I stretched out mine and shook it. "Amara", I said back with a smile on my face. "It was nice meeting you, hopefully we will again, and I am very sorry for bumping into you, I was afraid I'd be late", Noah said as he looked into my eyes with his cold ones and smirked. He proceeded to enter the Architecture class, whilst I stood the frozen, thinking of how in the hell someone is that handsome.

finally coming back to my senses, I stroll in and look around to try find Amber, but she was not in today. I wonder why. I sighed. this feels like first day all over again. as I was looking for a seat, Noah waved his hand high, so I see it, am guessing that's a sign to sit next to him. At least his kind, might as well be friends.

I went over to take a sit next to him. "Hey again", I said as I smiled brightly again. its been a couple of minutes, and Noah's presence is giving me butterflies. am trying very hard to be normal under his strong cold gaze but am guessing he figured that him being next to me is making me act up a little.

the lecturer, Mr. Wells finally entered and started. " This years project has been separated into practical and theory. the theory is 40%, which will be done in partners, and the 60% is for practical which requires you to draw and manufacture a building of your choice" said Mr. Wells.

"Would you love to be partners with me Amara?", Noah asked as he blankly stared at me for an answer. "Ha-ha yes, sure, I don't mind", I said as I looked shyly at him in his piercing black orbs. he smirked and later asked where I would love to do the project. Am not really outgoing so I figured the park, my dorm room or his place is fine, but with immediate effect he solely denied his place. Maybe he doesn't have a good relationship with his parents, I don't know, but either way I did not mind those three.

the class was finally done and as I was heading out, I heard Noah say, "If you like we could go for ice-cream?", It seems weird, but maybe us being close would not hurt, would it? And so, I told him to follow me to the dorm so I drop of my books, and we can head for some ice-cream.

later that day we were sitting opposite each other at the ice-cream booth and chatting. "Are you serious? your parents are so loving", Noah said with a smirk on his face. "Do you ever smile?" I asked out of curiosity. he always smirked but never a full smile on his face. "Nah, smiling is weird, and if I ever do, that means little kitten here" he said whilst looking deep into my soul with his eyes, "would have won my heart", he muttered the last part with a smirk.

it was finally evening, and to say I was exhausted was a joke. when I went out with amber for ice-cream, I didn't feel alive, just ordinary. But with Noah, it was like he brings the best out of me without him even trying. I sighed, as I fell onto the bed, and darkness took over.

***

It was midnight when I heard little stones bumping onto the window. who in the hell wakes up people at midnight? Augh! I went over to the window and opened it, only to find Noah starring up at me. "Hey Amara", he said. I could see the eyebags under his eyes. I waved my hand up as a signal for him to come in and that's what he did. Once he was in, I made him some hot chocolate and asked if he was okay. "Sorry to disturb you, but I just cant sleep", he said. Hmm. "Okay then, well am feeling sleepy but if you like, feel free to bunk in till you feel okay", I said as I let out a yawn and blacked out on my bed.

I trust him, my mind said.

Do I? really?

And that was the last time I had a conversation with my brain as I blacked out.
