After the trial and receiving his badge Caxon want into the main room to find a good mission. He could not leave this town before getting the storage ring which after getting the bounty money he was 100 gold away from.
The reward for killing the captain was relatively high compared to the other missions that an F rank adventured could take from the job board. However, it was pocket change compared to the rewards for some of the higher ranked missions, such as the most expensive mission which was also a bounty. It was 1 and a half platinum, which was worth a total of 1500 gold, for the head of "The Big Boss" who he had heard about a lot in the camp.
He seemed to be the main leader of the bandits in this area and he was in control of a large base and had multiple groups all under "Captains" around the forest. He was said to be a high silver core mage and was very good at combat. He was definitely not someone for Caxon to face at the current moment.
It was at this moment that he saw the mission to kill Silver and he smiled while simply ignoring it since the pay for hunting down the wolfs was very small to him.
He continued to look until he found a mission that was restricted to F rank adventurers that caught his eye.
In the part of the poster that contained the reward there were multiple crossed out numbers. The reward seemed to start at 10 gold but was slowly increased to the point it is now of 30 gold.
The mission was to find the main base of "The Big Boss" and give the information to the adventure's guild. Caxon cursed himself for not thinking of interrogating a bandit or keeping any of them alive. He made sure to keep this in the back of his head as he went to look for more missions that he could take.
After looking around for a while he had memorized a few missions that he thought he could complete while he was out in the woods once more. His main goal was for missions that wouldn't attract too much attention but still paid well, this condition was harder to fill then he thought since obviously the harder missions would be the ones to pay more.
Caxon walked out of the adventure's guild and briefly thought about which mission he should do first. Most of the missions he had found required finding a specific class 1 beast and killing it. Some of these said it was because the beasts were dangerous and they shouldn't be allowed to grow stronger, a few of them said that it was for alchemy and required the retrieval of specific parts of the beast, and one of them just said that it was to mount its head on a wall.
The problem was that almost all of these missions simply said a very general area to find these beasts and it was up to him to either track them down or hopefully stumble upon them.
However, there was one mission that said exactly where to find the beast.
He left the village and headed north, he would rather go to where he knew one of the missions were then look around aimlessly and waster time. There were also a few missions he could look for while he was in the north so hopefully, he could kill two birds with one stone.
Caxon wanted to complete enough missions to get all 100 gold at the same time since once he attracted attention to himself by completing them, he would want to leave the village immediately.
He moved as quickly as he could for 2 days straight arriving far to the north of the village.
He had followed the directions that were described in the mission so he should be close to the mission's objective. He made sure to slow down as he crept through the woods.
'Behind you, young master!'
Amon warned in his head causing Caxon to instantly turn around.

He turned around to see a 3 foot long 1-foot-tall ant clacking its giant mandibles at him. Its body was a dull red color and its mandibles were thick with spikes that fit like a jigsaw puzzle when they closed them. All though the mandibles did not look as intimidating as the mantis' weapons they could still do serious damage if he was careless.
'Looks like I am in the right place.'
Caxon quickly drew his sword as he prepared to face the ant in front of him. The giant and was not a class one beast so he was able to quickly defeat it without much trouble. The problem was that he wasn't hunting one ant. Instead, he was irradiating an entire ant nest.
He quickly took off the tips of the ant's antennas which were two small balls and put them in his backpack as he remembered the mission poster which had brought him here.
Mission - Take out a developing Ants Nest.
Description – Ant's nest can be extremely dangerous, the strength of the nest grows exponentially as the queen develops. If this queen has already become a class 1 beast and if she is allowed to grow to class 2 serious trouble could come from it.
Required Proof for completion- 100 antennas from worker ants and 1 queen ant pheromone gland (located in narrow part of the thorax)
Reward for completion-65 Gold
This was the basic layout of all quests, some had pictures to help with the description, some had a slightly different layout, the most common difference from this mission was that many posters also had who commissioned them but this one did not. However, every mission had at least this much information since that was what the adventure guild required when creating a mission.

Caxon quickly focused his attention once more as he heard the same ominous clacking noise but this time it came from all around him. He counted 5 more ants that had surrounded him.
His goal was to kill 50 of these regular ants so he could get their antennas, then he would have to find the entrance to the ant hill where he would then hunt down the queen.
'Amon find where the queen will be and take out any ants you see on your way back, let's get this done quick.'
'I will see it done.'
A shadow flew out of his own shadow and it quickly went in the direction the ants seemed to be coming from.
He summoned Silver, since he was now a class 1 beast, he would be more powerful than any of these ants. However, since he had just created his beast core, he was still relatively weak for a class 1.
Caxon simply nodded at Silver before they both charged towards the ants as they started fighting their way forward.
