Entering the Academy

As Caxon was on the floor catching his breath his examiner smiled as she looked at him.

"Wow a handsome young man who also has talent aren't you something special. Well, you have definitely showed enough promise to pass the test so let me be the first to congratulate you on becoming a student at Arbren National Academy. Go through this door and wait until the headmaster comes to give a speech where you will receive further instruction."

As the old lady said this, she stepped to the side where a door appeared. Caxon bowed to the lady as the approached the door.

He still felt strange as his surroundings changed and this time he was in a huge auditorium with a large stage at the bottom of the seats. He could also see that there were a large number of chairs but most of them were empty.

It seemed that even though he took the full 12 hours of element comprehension that he was still early to finish, however he ignored this and the eyes of the other students who turned to him as soon as he showed up and took a seat while closing his eyes as though he was napping.

"How many people do you think will pass the test?"

"I don't care all I know or care, why would I keep count of how many people I beat I only care about the boy in the front who was the first one to finish and the only one to beat me."

As Caxon 'slept' he heard two boys nearby talking about the others who passed, although he wanted to take a look at the overconfident voice that declared he was too good for everyone else, and the boy who was the first one done he didn't. Luckily using his mana sense, he was able to get a rough idea of them and would hopefully be able to recognize them in the future.

As more people showed up the auditorium began to slowly fill however after more people stopped showing up an old man with a long grey beard and a white silk robe walked onto the stage.

"Good afternoon students welcome to Arbren's National Academy, we are honored to have such a large number of talented students join us today. My name is Xarhan and I am the headmaster of the the entire academy. Although I wish I could spend more time to introduce you I have to attend the Royal Academies introduction so I will leave you in the hands of your own headmaster Sir Sanaroth Datumal. Once again congratulations on making it into our academy I hope you will use this opportunity to better yourself and become the mages you are capable of becoming."

After he said this the dignified old man left the stage as a middle-aged man with a leather tunic, and a scar on his shoulder took his place.

"Thank you very much Headmaster as always it is an honor to have you visit our side of the academy."

The man greeted the Head master with a smile as he happily watched him leave the stage and waved away the man.

The second Xarhan left the room the Sanaroth's smile instantly left his face as he turned to the students in the auditorium with a frown on his face.

"Listen you are all in the National Academy now be sure to act like it. There will be no tolerance on anyone we see as unfit to carry the name of an academy student. Exit the door on the left and you will see a board with all of your names on it. Find your name, it will say what building you are in and your specific room as well as what class you are in. Find your room quickly then meet in your classroom for further instructions."

The man seemed unhappy to have to instruct the students and he did not give any positive statements or congratulatory statements it was only business.

Some of the students seemed surprise that there was no further information on the academy or what their goal was but the smart students realized why that was.

From the way the senior headmaster said "Sir" Sanaroth Datumal it was clear this man was a noble.

'It seems that discrimination will be abundant in this academy, I guess there isn't much to do about that.'

Caxon was one of the people that understood this academy well, since the very first teacher he talked to described the differences between the National and Royal sides of the academy he assumed that there would be Nobles who looked down on the commoners.

As teachers walked around the auditorium or stood on the edges of the stage or seats, he realized one surprising fact about the nobles. He thought that it wouldn't matter that much since the nobles should be in the Royal side of the academy but it seemed that almost all the teachers were nobles from the way they walked around and the look in their eyes as they looked at commoners.

However, there was nothing that could be one about this so he decided to just ignore the ugly looks he got from the teachers and follow the instructions and exited the auditorium to find his room.

As he walked out, he found himself in what seemed like the center of the academy since he was completely surrounded by buildings. In the center of the square there was a large billboard with many lines of names.

Caxon approached he started looking for his name, as he looked many more students followed him outside and to also find their name. After finding his classrooms and room's location he tried to figure out how to find them.

As he looked at the buildings that surrounded the billboard, he saw white numbers and letters on the sides of each of them. This really gave the whole academy the feeling of an industrial complex. All the buildings were grey there was no grass and a concrete like subscience made up the entirety of the ground.

Thinking back to the beautiful grass and flower paths that made up the Royal Academy Caxon was slightly sad that he would have to stay in this much less relaxing environment but he still knew he made the safer decision in coming here then using Alarat's recommendation to go to the Royal side.

Caxon first tracked down his room and entered. He saw that there was a bed and cabinet on both sides of the room, he decided he would choose the left side since he was the first one here. Looking in the cabinet he saw 5 sets of academy uniforms, he stored one in his storage ring and but one on while putting his own clothes in the cabinet instead.

He did not wait for his roommate to show up since he didn't know one was guaranteed or if they would be able to find it in time. After slightly getting used to the naming convention of the buildings finding his classroom was easier than finding his classroom.

Caxon was the first one in the room, even the teacher was not there yet. He picked a seat next to the window as he rested his head on his hands and looked through the window while waiting for more people to show up to the classroom.
