Chapter 2 Lack of Upbringing

She couldn't sleep all night

When she got up in the morning, she only felt sore all over her body.

There was no one around, Stephanie had already left.

The surrounding air was filled with the smell of cold tobacco.

With two legs almost dragged, Alina went to the bathroom. When she finally washed her body and went downstairs, she suddenly saw the middle-aged lady on the sofa.

In the photo, Alina had seen her. Her name was Woolley, and she was Stephanie's aunt.

It was Woolley who adopted him when he was a child and his parents died. Later, the Old Li found his beloved grandson and took them back to the family at his strong request.

In his heart, Woolley was his rebirth mother, and also her mother-in-law.

When they met for the first time, Woolley didn't look good, which made Alina realize that her situation in the Li family would only be worse and worse in the future.

When she was in a daze, Woolley said sarcastically, "I didn't guess wrong. Jerry is a cunning old man. Lena was the one we want to marry, but he tries to take advantage of the Li family!"

"Why are you still standing there? You are already a wife. Cooking and cleaning are the basic requirements. Do you understand?"

Alina lowered her eyes and nodded obediently, but her heart was obscure

As the statue of the Li family, they had servants do those things. It was obvious that Woolley was deliberately making things difficult for her newly married daughter-in-law.

"Forget it. Now I have nothing. I have no choice but to be obedient. I can't defeat them, so I don't have to struggle and waste time."

Then she turned around and went to the storage room to clean up the tools.

In Woolley's eyes, her obedience was useless, and she was a coward and timid. Therefore, she increasingly felt that the image of Alina Lin was far different from that of the hostess of the Li family in her mind!

In the evening, as soon as Stephanie came back home, he saw Alina who was busy cooking in the kitchen.

He frowned and looked at Woolley. Woolley smiled and said, "Alina told me that she wanted you to have a taste of the food she cooked. She has been busy from afternoon to now, but it's not ready yet."

The underlying meaning was that she cursed in her mind that Alina was so clumsy that she couldn't even cook a meal.

Stephanie Li just nodded.

Alina served four dishes and one soup soon and made a plate of desserts, which were taught by her grandmother.

Generally speaking, the daughters of rich and powerful families, even if they were illegitimate children, should be spoiled to grow up. The more Alina knew, the more it proved that she was not valued in the Lin family. In the Li family, even those servants looked down upon her from the bottom of their hearts.

During the dinner, the atmosphere in the restaurant became weird and low. After a few quick bites, Alina hid in her room.

As soon as she left, Woolley rolled her eyes coldly and said, "You didn't even greet me. You're not well-educated!"

Anyone with a discerning eye could see that Woolley was just making trouble out of nothing, but no one refuted.

iPad

Ignoring her, Stephanie browsed the latest project flow on his iPad.

Woolley thought for a while and said, "The Lin family is bullying us. They dare to send this dumb woman to our Li family. Their attitude is not sincere at all!"

Li's family got married to a dumb bride. It would be a shame if others knew it!

Seeing that Stephanie still didn't answer, Woolley quickly changed the topic and fawned on him, "Stephanie, An will come back from abroad soon. He can't let a dummy be his sister-in-law, right? How about this? When the limelight subsides in a period, we can get rid of this dummy casually. And I will find you a daughter from a rich family of equal social rank again?"

Then she looked at him expectantly.

As expected, something finally happened. But what he said was not what she wanted to hear. "Auntie, I know what I'm doing."

Woolley's face froze and she swallowed the rest of the words.

After Stephanie left, Lillian walked up to her and comforted her, "Mrs. Li, young master didn't mean that. Please don't take it to heart."

Woolley nodded, still frowning. "It's all my fault that I didn't take good care of him at that time, so I let the gangster take him away. I don't know how much hardship he had suffered. Since he came back, his character has changed greatly. Once he has a shadow in his heart, it will be a lifetime thing. I can understand and feel sorry for him."
