Graduation Day

"Congratulations Miles, I am so proud of you"! a middle age woman handed a bouquet of red roses to the young lady in front of her. "thanks aunt Liz," she accepted the flowers and smiled sweetly at her aunt, She is Miles August, 20 years of age, her aunt Liz is her only family, she was only 3years old when both her parents died from a plane crash, since then her aunt raise and take care of her, she didn't even get married for she dedicated her life to her niece

"hey aunt, why are you crying?" Miles got worried when she saw her aunt's teary eyes, "oh nothing dear, I'm just so happy for you, It's seems just like yesterday when I was carrying you in my arms but now look at you, time flies so fast" she couldn't help but get emotional and give her aunt a big hug.

"enough of the drama you two, let's go get some food I'm starving" it's Giah Smith Miles's childhood bestfriend, both of them go to the same school since kindergarten, "congratulations Giah" aunt Liz release Miles from her embrace and also give Giah a hug "thank you Aunt liz" Giah smiled and hugged her back. "anyway Miles, where's Brent? didn't he come to congratulate you?" "Uhm, I think he's kinda busy so he might not make it" Miles answered Giah's question while occasionally looking at her aunt's reaction, Brent Wade is her boyfriend for almost a year, he's gentleman and thoughtful but for some reason her aunt Liz and Giah don't seem to like him, she didn't know why.

"no matter how busy he is, he should've shown up for your graduation day you know" said Giah, she just smile and look down to hide her disappointment, though she didn't want to admit it, she knew that Giah has a point. Her aunt must sense her emotion so she change the topic "let's go to the restaurant now, I've reserve a table for us" Miles and Giah said goodbyes to their teachers and friends then the trio head to the restaurant, while waiting for the food to be served Giah remembered something "by the way aunt Liz we'll have an after graduation party later, you will let Miles to come with me right?" "Sure, no problem to me at all" aunt Liz replied. "But Giah, I don't think I should go, you know I don't like noisy and crowded places." Miles protested,

Giah shook her head at her response,

"Darling, I know you're a good girl, but sometimes you should get out of your shell, trust me you'll gonna be fine." "Go and have fun Miles, it might take a long time before you get a chance to be with your friends again, and besides I got a call from the office, I need to go after lunch so there's no one to stay at home with you, just go with Giah." aunt Liz persuade her. "see? even aunt Liz thought so, so it's final, you're going with me later" Giah said with a cheerful smile on her face,

"Ok fine, I'll go with you" she agreed to her bestfriend. after they ate, aunt Liz drive her home and say a few reminders before going to her workplace.

She entered to their house and take a bath, she needs to get ready to go to the party with Giah.
