The celestial palace

''We're here''

''What is this place?''

I said while looking around me, everything looked so celestial.

''This is my home.''

''You're calling this a home? It's a palace.'' ''Are you sure we didn't arrive at the wrong destination?'' I said with a dubious look.

''Don't worry, you don't have to believe me, you will understand where you are soon enough.'' Said the young angel while smiling.

''Ok, but... what are we doing now?''

''Oh, you can explore the place if you so desire.''

''What if I get lost?'' I said while making a confused face.

''Hmm... I guess you're right.''

''Princess, if I may, should I show him around?'' Said the bodyguard that teleported us here.

''You don't need to, I'll show him the surroundings myself.''

While saying that, the sun rose and now her silver hair was shining in the sunlight, I almost blushed, it was something that I didn't get to feel until now, it was as if I had butterflies in my stomach. She caught me staring at her and then smiled, her azure eyes looked like they were full of joy.

''Alright, follow me.''

''Okay.''

I knew something was going to happen, a revelation or some kind of confession about her.

''What was that look you gave me earlier?'' She said and smirked.

My intuition was entirely wrong, this time I wasn't able to hide my blush but this time she also blushed to my surprise, I wasn't able to understand what was happening anymore. But she begins talking trying to act as if nothing happened.

''U-Um...''

''Yes?''

''Do you want to go see the library?''

''Sure, why n-'' I didn't even get to finish what I was saying because she started running in the direction of the library.

''W-Wait!''

I started running in that direction too and shortly after, I arrived at the library.

''Let's head in!''

''Okay.''

We entered the library. There were about 25 floors and the library was full of books, it seemed to me that everything there was to know about this world was hidden in all those books.

''It seems that you are also a book lover.''

''Yeah... kind of.''

''Wanna browse through them together? We still have some time until meeting him.''

I wanted to ask who is that ''him'' but I gave up on that, predicting that she wouldn't tell me anyway.

''Of course.''

''Okay then, what genre are you interested in?''

''Fiction in general.''

''I can see that you know the good stuff.''

''I guess you can say that,'' I said with a smile full of enthusiasm.

''Let's go to the 22nd floor then.''

When we arrived there she said that we should move on to a better floor so we went to the 13th floor.

''Hmm, take a look at the synopsis, it seems pretty tragic.''

''Will do.''

I took the book from her and started reading the synopsis.

'Lies? Betrayal? Disappointment? What are those when being in the fog that they call ''love''? But, what is love when facing the truth? From having everything to losing everything, it is often seen as a cycle. When you've already lost everything there is nothing more to lose but only to gain but, when having everything there is nothing more to gain but only to lose.'

''Yeah, seems pretty tragic.''

''I know, right.''

''Will you read it?''

''I don't think so, what about you?''

''It didn't get my curiosity.''

That is what I said but in truth, I was only trying to run away from facing what that book had to transmit. I wasn't available for something that was going to ruin my mood.

''Then I will put it back on the shelf,'' I said.

When I was about to put the book back on the shelf a man came to us. I was able to sense that he had some hostility towards me so I tried to not let my guard down.

He was getting more closer to us. After a few minutes, he started running towards me.

''What is a lowly demon like you doing here?!''

I dodged the punch he was trying to throw at me and asked him:

''Why did you assault me?''

''You even dare to ask me that...'' He looked as if his blood started boiling. Not long passed until veins started appearing on his face.

The beautiful angel looked pretty angry so I tried not to fight him back since I knew she wanted to get things done herself.

''Why are you attacking my guest?''

''Princess! Demons have no place here!''

''And who are you to decide that?''

He didn't answer her question and kept trying to fight me, it was pathetic.

''Guards! Stop him!''

I didn't expect her to have people guarding her even here, she was actually of the things that could happen.

The guards came and stopped him quickly, She looked both embarrassed and scared of what happened, I was able to feel it just by looking into her azure eyes.

''I am sorry for what happened.''

''It's okay,'' I said with a concerned look since she looked as if something was out of place.

She took a deep breath and then faces me with a fake smile that was hiding pain saying:

''I'll get one of the guards to guide you to your room since I have some business I have to take care of.''

''Ok.''

I tried to not overthink the situation but in the end, I still ended up overthinking it but I concluded that I should rest since I felt something difficult was about to come.
