Rebels Loyalty [1]

The Arch lord had left the general to attend to some more pressing issues which at this moment, were really 'pressing'. He spent the rest of his work thinking about his conversation with the general.

'What is happening?' he wondered. 'What truly is happening to the Academy. The non challance, the defecting soldiers of the Academy, stressful missions.'

"Really! What really is happening" the Arch lord stated aloud venting his frustration over the events that were giving him stress recently.

The Arch lord had thought of pursuing his case against the general, but eventually, he decided against it. It was better for it to lie low for now and not cause panic than for the worse. Or still, it could just be another one of his imaginations or an overgrown suspicion. Which ever way, he would play it safe, doing his own investigation.

He had left the squad site completely and was headed towards the Special Ops building.

There were many reasons the Arch lord was heading to the Special Ops building and not back to his station. The station he was, before he made his way as reinforcement to this sector.

"I need to ask some few questions. And perhaps some little sight seeing. If possible, one sparring round" the Arch lord said aloud.

A smile etched itself on his face when he said those words aloud. Probably reminiscing the fight with the he had with the rebels, not too long ago. The fight which clearly was one sided.

After exiting the maxed alley, the dark moonlight revealing that he had crossed the area characterized by the shipping containers stacked upon each others. He was heading for a dome like structure which was some meters away from him.

The dome like structure was not really a structure. But calling it a structure was not completely untrue either. It was a dome that had the striking resemblance of a giant jelly. Both edges of the dome could not be seen from where the Arch lord stood as a result of the size. The Jelly like substance in the shape of a dome was enclosed in another dome, completely round with the single standing out characteristic of being curved outward.

The Arch lord had hardly gotten any closer when he saw some individuals in military clothing exiting the dome in a popping style. While he thought of entering, others were coming out already.

The done was not actually transparent, but it could be viewed as a large curved dome ball whose base was on ground level. Although the jelly like substance made it seem like whatever was in the dome was white, in reality, it was just in the semblance of a mirage.

The Arch lord moved closer and closed the distance between himself and the dome structure and passed right through into it. Obviously, the glassy substance was not glass. The Arch lord while inside the dome saw nothing but white mist. Seconds after, the Arch lord had popped out through the other side of the dome. Clearly, the dome served as a gateway to another place entirely which at this point in time was stranger than any other place the Arch lord had been while he was in this sector.

"So exhilarating" the Arch lord thought. "I really can never have enough of it"

The walk in that misty environment was enough reason for the Arch lord to reason that way. Right in front of the Arch lord was another spectacle. Several tiny objects had gathered in the sky manipulating the flow of dust with the aid of their propellers and had formed the wordings ;

SPECIAL OPS BUILDING

MILITARY UPTOWN

SECTOR G1 - 26

ACADEMY C

The Arch lord did not seem very fascinated by the design right in front of him. His eyes seemed focused on the road ahead of him. Right in front of him, there were no doors 0r gates. But several hallways served as entrance to a building which could not not be seen at this point.

The Arch lord picked one hallway and began to walk along it humming a song in a very low tone. The hallway allowed the passage of only one person at a time, while others could follow behind in a single file. At each side of the hallway, were pillars erected in the ancient Rome style. The pillars were distributed in such a way that after a couple of steps, two pillars would be seen again at both sides of the hallway. Overhead, another hallway crossed horizontally, the one which the arch lord was treading.

"Sir" a voice called out from across the hallway when the Arch lord had reached the cross hallway. He turned his head to the side to see who had called out. Perhaps, the call was for him.

"Sir" the voice called out again.

"Commander Slade" the Arch lord returned. He had seen who called out to him already. A black in dark clothing as he was in except without the trench overcoat. The black in dark clothing had closed the distance between himself and the Arch lord while the Arch lord stepped to the side to allow the free passage if others who were coming behind him.

"Sir" the black said when he had arrived and was standing by the Arch lord's side. "Sir, so good to see you. Really, you just disappeared after the fight. It was like you were never there in the first place. You need to teach me that, and I'm willing to learn" the black joked.

The Arch lord let out a light chuckle and resumed his walk along with the Commander by his side.

"What are you doing here?" The Arch lord asked.

"Nothing really. I just wanted to catch up with the others which I did do. After that, I decided to enjoy a stroll which took me here. And I met you. Though I also had plans of heading to the brownstone to see you." the black explained.

"Is that so?" the Arch lord asked rhetorically.

With that, they continued their walk, neither of them saying anything to each other while the Arch lord pleasured his hum.

"Have you nothing else to say?" the Arch lord asked braking the silence.

The black sighed and spoke up. "Yes sir. I'm wondering why we had to come here. I mean I thought it was something serious that warranted your attention greatly. But.. but only to discover it was done meaningless Academy - rebel brawl. It wouldn't be wrong for me to ask why."

"The reason, you mean to ask?" the Arch lord paused for a split second and continued. "Nothing, most commonplace"

"And where are we headed" the black asked.

"Did I forget to tell you?" the Arch lord replied looking at his companion. "We're headed to the infirmary" he stated taking a sharp right turn into another wider hallway. This one was filled with individuals carrying stretchers and medical kits which could be seen in the distance.

"What for?" the black asked

"Am I now answerable to you?" the Arch lord replied calmly leaving his companion stunned.

After a while of walking, they had reached a palatial building with three wings built in a baronial style with an extended slope which had a covering as passage into it, pillars at both sides of the slope every step of the way up. The place was secure, several military personnel in an iron like uniform equipped with weapons. The duo got on the slope and began to ascend gradually while the Arch lord delivered curt nods in response to the brief bows he received from some of the security personnel. They had finished the climb, arriving in a large space to meet the building very functional. Several rooms, doorways and hallways. While individuals clad in medical clothing were wheeling around injured soldiers in stretchers. The building was tall enough to discourage looking up, but it had no roof, but a covering that seemed to be made out of pure energy.

The Arch lord proceeded to go forward passing through the large space with the other following closely behind him and had arrived at another section of the building which this time was made from red brick. The space was all round brick and there seemed to be no way to get through the brick which signified the possible end of the room.

The Arch lord placed his hand on a particular spot on the wall which was red. The red spot shone blue for a second before reverting to its original color. Immediately after, the middle of the wall separated emitting a red hue. The bricks moved and entered into one another separating from the middle leaving a space wide enough for the duo to pass through.

The red hue emitted from the red lights in this section after the bricks had made way allowing for the Arch lord and his companion to enter a space made of iron walls which coated the back of the bricks, made the place quite uncomfortable but easy to get by.

The Arch lord and his companion had found themselves in a very wide open space. At both ends of the large space provided by the room section were several cubicles without an overhead covering and curtains at the front, some of which were drawn open. The windows high up illuminated the room negating much of the uncomfortable effects of the red light.

The Arch lord walked to one of the cubicles and drew open the curtain entering into it.

"Goodday soldier Aca 1612" the Arch lord greeted staring at the badge on the military uniform hanged by the side of the cubicle.

The soldier on the bed in the cubicle raised his head to see two men standing. One by his side, the other at the foot of the bed. He recognized the one by his side and attempted to sit up.

"Greetings Arch lord" he greeted grunting.

"Easy" the Arch lord stated putting him back on his back. "I have some few questions and I need answers" he said, with a serious demeanor as always, receiving a nod from the soldier on the bed.

"Where were you when the invasion took place?"

"I was in the Gamma D Fotress" the soldier replied.

"How did the invasion start?"

"It started from the fotress. It originated with the security lock down disabling from Beta B Fotress." The soldier paused for a while before continuing. "

It did not do much, and it would have been easily corrected, but for another disabling of central systems. Which.. which was a direct program from Alpha A Fotress."
