The Richman (Book 2) - Love me like You Do

Leah snuggled into Ben's arms. That night was different from the previous nights. After Ben and Leah decided to take a short vacation for a few days to Barcelona, tonight they could sleep in their beds again.

"I always miss this place, even though there are so many wonderful places to stay out there," Leah said in the silence of the night.

Ben tightened his arms "Why is that?" he asked quietly.

Leah sighed deeply, "This place is very comfortable and quiet. I found the peace that I can't find anywhere else." Leah replied.

Ben kissed his wife's shoulder, "Are you happy after our vacation?" asked Ben curiously.

"Of course." She answered short. Leah did look like she was enjoying the holiday, but everyone knew that women were the best at hiding their deepest feelings behind a fake smile. So is Leah.

Leah, who had been thinking about Surrogacy, suddenly wanted to tell Ben, "I've been thinking about Surrogacy." Leah said quietly. She didn't dare to say it out loud because she didn't want any more trouble between her and Ben.

Ben had no idea that Leah would still be discussing it with him after their vacation. Ben thinks maybe taking the time to spend the holidays with his wife will divert the issue of having kids. Moreover, Leah, who still finds it difficult to accept her condition which is medically declared unable to conceive with her own womb.

Ben swallowed, "Honey, can we not talk about this?" Asked Ben.

Leah turned to Ben, she even turned her body so that they were facing each other, "Ben, I really don't mind surrogacy as long as we can have our own child." Leah said honestly.

Ben's brow furrowed, "Do you really know what you asking for?" he asked confused. "You know, surrogacy means involving someone else in the process," said Ben.

Leah shuffled up and out of bed. She took a folder from the drawer and carried it back onto the bed. Ben who was originally already lying down, then inched up with a half-sitting position on the bed. "What's this?" he asked as Leah handed him the folder containing the several sheets of paper.

"I've researched a lot about surrogacy. You can read it first before deciding whether to agree or not." Leah replied.

Ben put the folder and its contents on the table. He grabbed Leah's face with both hands, "Honey, I know very well what surrogacy is like and how it goes. All those sheets of paper don't matter to me, because the most important thing is about you." said Ben. "Are you sure about all your decisions?" Ben asked as he looked deeply at Leah.

"What should make me hesitate?" Leah asked with teary eyes. "You say I'm selfish, and yes I am," She said.

Ben swallowed hard, he was still staring at the woman he loved the most without denying the slightest. Ben wanted to give Leah as much space as possible to speak her mind. "I want to have children with you, at any cost," Leah said, her tears were almost falling even though she was still able to hold them in.

Ben grabbed his wife and hugged her tightly, "Whatever you want, I will support you. It's not about me baby, I want everything about you and your wishes. I have no other desire in my life than to make you happy, that's all. And if having children will make you happy, I will support you." Answered Ben.

Leah, who was originally trying to hold back her tears, after listening to Ben's answer, burst into tears in her husband's arms. She did not expect that in this world there would be people who love her so much, understand her, and are even willing to do anything for her happiness. And that man is Ben Anthony.
