Seeing the confusion in his eyes, she speaks up, "Actually, I cleaned up your room earlier when you weren't at home, and may have re-arranged everything," As she pushes out the last words, her voice starts trailing off, as she feels guilty about it. "I placed them on your desk," she continues as she points to the direction where she placed them. Jayden isn't angry at all, instead he responds by forming an 'O' shape with his lips.
He heads to the door and before he closes it, he says to Chloe, "I won't be back this night! Be a good girl as always!" He blows her a kiss. With a wide smile across her face, she responds, "Okay, I will. Take care of yourself."
After she is sure he has gone, she picks up her phone and dials Ann's number. "Can we meet up? Yes! Yes! Yes! I know! I will explain everything to you at the coffee shop, 59th street! Okay, see you there!" She takes this opportunity to meet up with Ann. Opportunities like this are hard to come by, and if they do, it's only once in a lifetime. Chloe utilizes this opportunity pretty well.
She immediately rushes to the bathroom, and quickly starts to freshen up. A moment later, the bathroom door bangs open, as Chloe walks out, furiously brushing her teeth and at the same time combing her messy hair which she hadn't combed in a long time. Walking to the dressing table, she glances at herself in the mirror, an evil grin from ear-to-ear, appearing across her face.
"I don't know what you call yourself and I don't care! You're the reason why Ethan left me! You're the cause of everything! Ever since you appeared, you've caused Ethan to hate me! I don't even know why you came here in the first place! But not to worry, you'll get what's coming to you! You won't even know what hit you!" she says as she faces her replica in the mirror, her eyes filled with nothing but hatred.
Then she burst out with laughter, a sinister laughter. If Jayden were here, he would be so much worried. Worried because his sister had changed into someone who couldn't be recognized. Putting on a large, bulgy shirt, torned jeans, ripped on her right thigh and left leg and matches with white sneekers, she walks out of the mansion and gets into a cab.
Coffee shop, 59th street
Chloe walks into the coffee shop and takes a sit just opposite Ann who seemed to have arrived a bit earlier than her. As soon as she sits, Ann asks her the question that had been running through her mind, "So, tell me! What happened! Why have you been avoiding me!"
With a sigh, Chloe looks around to ensure that no one followed her. Even though she had tried all she could to prove to her brother that she had changed so as to gain his trust once again, he didn't trust her too much. He kept a close watch on her. At first, she didn't know. She only came to realize that she was being watched at one time when she was coming back from the company heading back to the mansion. She sensed that someone was following her. Thinking that he was a bad guy, she was filled with fear, and so she began to walk faster. Reaching to a corner, where a car was parked, she pretended to check her phone and glanced at the side-view mirror. She could see him clearly as he wasn't far from her. As soon as she stopped, he too stopped. The man wore a black uniform, the sort that bodyguards often wore. She hadn't realized who the man was, until she glanced at the badge on the left side of his chest. It was their family's badge. She was familiar with it as every worker had the same badge. But his badge wasn't similar to those of the workers. His own was green in color. In the family, there were two badges, one was red and the other green. Red symbolized common workers whereas green symbolized their most trusted employees. She thought about it carefully as to who would send a bodyguard to watch her? Automatically, she knew it was Jayden. No one in the family had the authority to order the family's most trusted bodyguard except for her father and jayden. Obviously, it couldn't be her dad. Besides, Jayden was the only person who knew of her recent behavior. He must have kept a close eye on her simply because he didn't trust her at all.
Making sure that no one was watching, she begun, "Ann! I haven't been avoiding you! I have been busy, thats all!" Ann couldnt believe what she had just heard. 'Not avoiding her? Busy? Who the heck stays for a whole week without calling or visiting her best friend to find out how she's doing? Besides, I had been calling her, but she didn't pick any of my calls!' she thought, frowning.
Sighing helplessly, Ann responds, "Such a lame excuse, Chloe! Even a mad person cannot fall for that lame excuse! For real, Chloe! I have been calling you, the past several days and you weren't picking up! Still saying you weren't avoiding me on purpose?" She were irritated.
On seeing that her friend was going to burst out with anger, she finally decides to tell Ann everything. Her reason for not answering her call, the whole plan of getting rid of the woman, Aviana. Ann nods her head in agreement as she listens careful not to miss any information. She practically tells her everything. Little does she know, that the person she refers to as her best friend is a green snake in green grass.
