You little peasant should know your place

"To think that you would be my bodyguard. A princess too, I should consider myself lucky but you will remain a peasant to me." Zecane snickers.

The smirk was wiped out of his face after I kicked him in his private area. He fell back crying out in pain as he rolled on the floor. A few tears pricked his eyes but the look he gave me was full of hatred.

"Me as your bodyguard?" I glared at him.

"Big sister, why would you do that!?" Aleera rushed to his side and used her healing essence to heal him.

"You're supposed to be protecting him,"

I looked at her, "protect him? He is a crown prince of our kingdom, it is a disgrace to ask the crown princess to protect the crown prince, he was supposed to train and he is supposed to be next in line and yet he needs protection,"

Dracyian stepped forward, "Well it seems the crown princess is correct in a way,"

Aleera helped Zecane up and I stepped forward to hit him again. Arms wrapped around me pulling me back, "Skythe," my voice was low and deadly as I glared at him.

"Let me go before I hurt you as well,"

This time it was a no-playing matter. It was a threat.

"Don't be afraid, she cannot harm any of us with those special cuffs,"

Zecane stood in front of them, Skythe held onto me either way as Zecane grabbed my face pulling me to him.

"Zecane, I swear I will make every one of you pay for this, I swear it on my life. I will make sure that every person that has ever hurt me will meet an excruciating end."

"You little peasant should know your place, you are my bodyguard, so you belong to me,"

I then kicked his knee and broke out of Skythe's hold, I spun around and elbowed Zecane in the mouth. He grabbed my right arm and punched me in the stomach, I yelped in pain and punched his jaw.

I jumped on top of him using my darkness to surround us. He then summoned his essence. A red-like shadow fighting my own. His power curled around me and pushed me down as he got on top of me with a blade appearing out of thin air.

He whispered in my ear, "I'll teach you from scratch how to be my close aide," and then he plunged the blade into my stomach.

"ZECANE! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??"

A voice yelled out.

Zecane removed the blade and stabbed me again until a figure grabbed him away from me. A metallic taste rose in my throat as I turned to the side to vomit it out the pain from my stomach reached my head and I whimpered from it.

The king and queen rushed towards us as Dracyian held Zecane back.

"Do you have any idea what you have done brother?!" He yelled at him and grabbed the knife.

"Do you have any idea what kind of blade this is?" He pushed the blade onto his face.

The queen let out a gasp and glared at her son. "That blade can destroy the very primordial spirit of a demon caelestian, the very core of the user, and you-" Dracyian was halted by the King.

My wounds weren't healing, and Darkside wasn't even here to help me. My darkness wasn't healing this wound.

I had thought that I had finally gotten used to all the poisons. I had thought I had gotten numb to the pain. The crimson-red blood just oozed out of my stomach.

"Your majesty what do you think you're doing?!" The Queen yells as footsteps approached me.

I was carefully lifted but winced at clutched onto the coat of whoever held me.

"I am saving my daughter,"

I looked up, everything was hazy, but there he was, my father carrying me in his arms after so many years and then everything faded to black.

"You should know using up your dark essence harms you in more ways than one your majesty," Talberon stood by the doorway of Serah's room. A room that has long been used after many years.

"This child and I hold the very core of the realm in our blood. So how can I not help her when such a blade was used upon her?"

The king sits on the bed next to Serah as she lay under the sheets unconscious.

"After all these years, not once have you considered her your blood ever since she unlocked her seal,"

Talberon's gaze was unsettling as he watched the king show affection to that spawn. 'After everything that has happened, he still feels for this demon' his thoughts were even unsettling.

Thunder protruded from the skies in the kingdom of Obscurum. A dark misty haze covered the castle, the effect of the king using his power. The power of death. An essence just like the crown princess.

The King wiped the sweat that was on Serah's forehead with a cloth. Serah's breathing was heavy and she was shaking from the tremors that plagued her mind. The King waved his hand signaling for Talberon to leave. Talberon curtsied and shut the door leaving the king alone with his daughter.

The king clicked his fingers and the magical cuffs disappeared from her wrists and then with a few hand signals he began to give her spiritual energy.

"I am so sorry my dear, I have failed you and your mother. I couldn't keep you both safe. In the end, I just used my daughter for my selfish gain." He quietly spoke.

Serah shifted in her sleep as the king removed the magical cuffs from her wrists. Her body began to emit light as it lit up around her and then faded.

"You really are her daughter," The king whispers as he pulled the covers up tucking her in bed.

He then leaves the room to see Dracyian and Skythe outside the door.

"How is she? Is she going to be okay?" Skythe rushes out.

"You're asking about your sister when none of you stopped them from fighting."

Skythe frowns and looks away. Dracyian just glares at his father.

"You were the one that kept our sister away from us." He challenges his father's glare.

"Why do you suddenly care for her now when all this time you let her leave a dog's life underground?"

The king stepped forward towards Dracyian.

"Watch your tongue boy," he seethingly says and walks away from them.

"It does not matter Father, you took away our sister, we have every right to know what exactly happened instead of you making a declaration. She is still a child and you paired her with Zecane-"

Dracyian was thrown back against the wall full force by the King's power. He clutched his side and coughed out blood.

"At least have the decency to know when you are wronged instead of being a coward,"

Every word Dracyian said struck daggers into the King's heart. It was the truth after all. For what kind of a father would do that to their child and what of the other children, surely they would suffer the same fate as well.

These kinds of thoughts went through each of the royal siblings. There were only seven royal children. Aremiah, Caius, Aleera, and Zecane were the Queen's children. While Skythe and Dracyian were born from the concubines that were brought to the kingdom.

As for Serah, no one knew of her origins, it was a secret that only the King and Queen knew about and if say a person knew of her birth, death will fall upon them for it was a taboo.

The King glared at Dracyian and then at Skythe, "Follow me to the throne room, we have a punishment that we have to deal with,"
