Blood sucker

Daemeon was a pure-blooded Vampyre. He was born from one of the princesses of Edacitas. His mother had come to Iracundia for she was betrothed to his father, a demon dark lord of the council and another caelestian that was closely regarded by the king.

Growing up in the palace had its perks. He was still a child but a child that sought power. His blood was tainted with that of a demon but the power he gained from his mother was out of this world. Ever since he could remember, he was always at Serah's side. He always hated that name so he stuck to her second name, Iracia.

Whenever he stared at his reflection, he was reminded of how much he looked like his father but he had his mother's eyes and her hair. He hated his father and this kingdom. And to his better judgment, he found a perfect ally to match his hatred.

What a perfect match it was to be so close to a princess.

But for Daemeon, there was something else, he remembered his past lives. The day Serah had unsealed her essence, the day he lost his best friend was also the day he gained his memories.

Now he knew what he wanted, what he had craved in his miserable life. He had to start from the bottom again. He had to gain control of the council. For it was the council that was the true ruler unless the king took back his reigns.

The king was a coward that only wanted power except almost everyone knew of the tale of the king of Obscurum and the Angel that fell for him.

"For you to betray your best friend, you would make a fine young villain," Talberon remarks as they both walk to the throne room.

"It's not an act of betrayal, I was helping her," Daemeon was looking away.

As much as he sought revenge and wanted power. He also felt sorrow and pain for what Serah was going through. Even though he was using her, she was the only one that cared for me. Whenever she had the time to escape from their clutches, she would seek him out.

That day when she was granted freedom, was the happiest day for her and when she saw him, the smile on her face had never been brighter than it did when she saw him after four years whereas for him. He had been so upset with the King for allowing her to be the face of his war.

"You call that help? My dear boy, you have just started a chain reaction. You stopped the princess from doing what she wanted the most so what exactly does that make of you?" Talberon gleams.

"Where is she? Where's the princess?" Lady Baiyue rushes through the courtyard.

Her striking eyes finally caught her target as she marched to Daemeon and Talberon. "How dare you do that to the princess?!"

Talberon shields Daemeon from her, "Woah there lady Baiyue, who are you to talk to the young lord like that, you are after all a guest for the king,"

"And you are nothing but an underling," she glares at the both of them.

"You better watch your tongue!" Talberon hisses reaching for his sword.

In the blink of an eye, another sword was at Talberon's throat.

"I would watch what you say in our presence instead," Dante declares shielding Baiyue, his darkness taking form around his blade. A sudden pressure emitted from his blade, while the air around them turned deadly.

"We know our places here but don't forget that if it wasn't for us, you wouldn't have your war maker," He continued and then he glances at Daemeon.

"War maker? How could refer to her as such-" Daemeon tried to defend Serah but was cut off by Dante's laugh.

"Really now? Do you think we are stupid to not notice how you treat the princess? She is your war maker, the little girl that has become this kingdom's weapon," he trained his sword at Daemeon.

"You all are despicable, doing that to her! Especially you, her supposed best friend, I've heard the stories surrounding this kingdom, and being inside here for such a short amount of time has shown me how cruel you demons really are,"

Baiyue puts her hand on Dante's shoulder. His anger was rising and it was evident by the power he had shown.

"You are a demon as well," Daemeon implies touching the sword and pushing it away.

"You despise your kind,"

The power that radiated out of Dante turned into annoyance. "The same could be said for you bloodsucker,"

Daemeon summoned his sword and hurled it at Dante. He dodges the sword and throws three daggers at Daemeon. Baiyue and Talberon step away from the battle suddenly aware of what the two children was capable of.

"Why aren't you stopping them?" Dracyian beckons with Zecane following him close by.

"Shouldn't you be patrolling?" Talberon asks

Dracyian ignores him and stands next to Baiyue and bows at her with his hands clasped together as a sign of respect.

"Lady Baiyue, it's a pleasure to finally meet you even though it's under such circumstances,"

Zecane glowered rolling his eyes at his elder brother's so-called facade. Baiyue noted the two princes and opened her fan.

"Your Highness's, the pleasure is all mine. It's certainly nice to finally see some new faces after residing here for a while. I do apologize for my apprentice here. He is well a quite sharped tongue of a lad." She somewhat praised Dante.

Talberon scowls, "It was that foolish boy that started this mess,"

"That foolish boy is my student, which you will learn to respect, as for that little Vampyre, he was the one that threw the first hit. Dante is simply finishing what was started something your kingdom should learn." She smiles at him, her eyes showing no remorse.

"As for this battle, once started we cannot interfere." She answered Dracyians question.

Daemeon somersaults in the air hurling his sword at Dante's back. Dante smirks and uses his darkness to shield himself. The blade flew back to Daemeon and he dodged his sword. Dante began to swing his sword in his hand enjoying the little game.

"Why do you care for the princess? You don't even know her?!" He yelled from the air.

"Why do I care? Good question, I don't care for her. I just simply can't stand to see how you caelestians treat her." He scowls.

'Isn't that the same as caring for her?' His darkness questions his mind.

Dante ignores his Darkside.

"You don't belong here!" Daemeon yells. "You and the priestess should leave from here!"

"And yet the priestess was the one that saved Serah's life. Instead you," he trained his blade at Daemeon. "You put a stop to her, what kind of 'friend' does that?!"

Daemeon had enough, he never expected that he would meet an old foe once again and the one caelestian he always despised. Dante and he had crossed paths for every lifetime that had been spent in the realms. And he knew now that Dante hadn't recovered his memories of the previous lives.

Dante did care for the princess, ever since he saw her jump the window and ran for her freedom. But he wanted to deny his feelings. They had only just met, it was ludicrous for someone to fall instantly for someone and he knew that she was younger than him. There was a spark that had been ignited. He knew not of what it was but he knew he had to protect her somehow. And the caelestian in front of him was a threat to her.

"Alright break it up you two, we don't need blood to be spilled,"

Daemeon didn't heed the caelestian that spoke instead he disappeared from the sky and swung his sword appearing behind Dante using his fire essence and creating fire arrows shooting them at him.

Dante leaps into the air and lands on the tree branch stopping his attacks. For he dared not to get the king angry. The king entered the area making his presence known.

Dante rolled his eyes and thought, 'Of course, the coward kings come to the rescue,'

King William turned to Baiyue, "Do not look at me, I didn't ask the boys to play the heroes here," she fanned herself.

The king flashed a look at them. Daemeon stopped his attack. Zecane and Dracyian were just bystanders admiring the show. That was until the king glanced their way and his features hardened. Talberon motioned for them to leave. And so Dracyian pulled Zecane away.

"I think it's time we discussed what's to become of the princess, summon the council," he told Talberon.

"Hold on," Baiyue stops him, "why should the council be involved when it's your daughter's life at stake here, the only person that has to take a decision is her father after all, so why should a group of caelestians decide the princess's fate?"
