Novi Incolae

I eventually started getting new people for living inside my town, like a dwarf named Philip Simpson, who wanted to work in a forge, a human named Morgan Wilkerson, who was trying to be a free guard somewhere but had been rejected because he didn't want any form of payment, which was odd but acceptable, another human named Calum Sutton, who was a scholar, and a few other people. I accepted them all, and did my best to set up where they would live and work to fit their needs and wishes.

Other than that, not much new has happened. I talked to them, figured out what they wanted and were here for, tried to organize everything as best as I could, and took a couple breaks whenever it got to be too much. I also started messing around with Steel, trying to get something cool. I eventually did. I put a block of obsidion in the middle slot in the crafting table, put diamonds in the corners, and steel in the outer side slots - all of this from that weird inspiration that happens - and got a... standard crafting table? It had a five by five slot menu, but other than that it was the same. I was a bit interested, replaced my personal table with it, but decided I wouldn't make more of them, at least not yet. Four diamonds and an obsidion block is rather expensive. And steel is a bit annoying to make.

I kept messing around, and after placing steel in a crisscrossing diagnal pattern through the middle three slots and through all the blocks going up and down in that area (AN: think of a crafting table, add an extra two vertical slot rows, then put darker iron ingots in diagnal rows going back and forth as they go up and you have the general idea - don't know if this makes it more clear.). From this I got six springs? Neat? I know that springs are used in lots of modern machines, but I only vaguely know their used to push the trigger of a gun back - with more uses likely - after you press it, and in vehicle suspension, but I don't know any other uses.

I did however create something both terrifying and promising. I created part of a gun. I put steel in the top layer, in all but the right most corner, with another steel ingot below the top right corner, with a copying layer on the middle layer. It created a 'N26 Culler Handgun body casing', whatever that is. Never heard of it or its type. It's use is a bit easy to know though, since it's just a casing. And by that, it's just the metal cover for the gun to protect the innards and act as structural support.

I was about to try and continue experimenting to see if I could make a full gun, and maybe ammo, when I heard a knock on the door before I heard it open. I dropped the casing, made it dance around my hands like a hot potato, and only just managed to hide it in my inventory when Kyle came in with Morgan and Philip, who then told me that they were going into the mines and were wondering if I was interested in coming. I decided I would, since I was interested in if any of that Infernite was around where we fought the Ender. It would be hard to use, but it would be very useful. Plus, I was out of diamonds - again, I had found some more, but they ran out fast with the crafting table - and could use some more.

I followed them down, noticing the lack of a minecart track like I had planned, and decided I would try and make some when we finished. I continued down with them, stopping once halfway down the ravine when I noticed a block of gravel next to some andesite I hadn't noticed. I broke it, and just kept finding more and more until I had unearthed a massive chamber - like ten blocks long, wide, and tall - with a little bit of iron hidden in the back. I mined it up, and filled the entire thing with dirt - of which I had near infinite amounts at this point - before running up to the others, who had left me behind. I caught up to them, told them I had noticed some iron, and kept going.

*A few moments later*

We reached the ravine, mining random ores - coal and iron mostly, a tiny bit of gold here and there -, killing random monsters - zombies and spiders -, and all the while I was looking for glowing stuff or a spike in temperature. I kept keeping an eye out as we got closer and closer to where we fought the Ender, and when we reached it, I noticed something odd. The places where the Ender had been were scorched and blackened, like someone had run a high powered thruster over the tracks. It was both fascinating and scary.

I did notice it got warmer, but I didn't notice anything I hadn't seen before. There was coal, iron, gold, lapis, I even saw a diamond and mined it up, which is good even if it's just one diamond. I felt a spot of air was warmer than others by a bit, and decided that maybe there was some Infernite nearby. I mined down, and after a few blocks found some dark crimson ore. Excited, I went to mine it with my diamond pickaxe, but gave up when it barely took any damage, even though I had been mining for long enough to break obsidion. I called the others over and asked them what it was. None of them knew. I then remembered that there are obsidion tools, so I went and mined a bit of obsidion to create a pickaxe. I failed. I them put steel in place of the sticks, and this one worked - this is all after going back up, grabbing some stuff, and experimenting for the rest of the day -, giving me a standard obsidion pickaxe.

I went back down with them, going over to the ore. I mined at it again, with it taking easily half the time to mine. When it broke, I saw what its name was, and was both disapointed... and curious. It was not Infernite, but it was... Luminiht? I grabbed the rest - getting seven total - before continuing on. I did notice it was actually rather hot in the hole, so I shooed the others away, and started mining down again. I then broke a block down in front of me, lit on fire, and freaked out. I popped back up, half dead, partially charred, and very confused. All I did was break something and I lite on fire. It was promising at least. I looked down again, and decided whatever was down there - probably Infernite - wasn't worth it. In the four minutes I had been up top, an Ender had appeared in the hole. I marked the hole and kept going.

We eventually noticed something strange in the distance. A glow of sorts. We found a large open cavern with stalagtites and stalagmites, and weird glowing ore. It almost looked like active redstone ore, with a bit of a brighter glow. Kyle took one step in, saw something, and proceeded to sneak out silently. He even took off his boots. I peeked in, accidentally kicked a stone off, saw some weird something light up in the distance and start waving before going dark again, and decided it wasn't worth it. I blocked up the cave, stepped back, and marked it.

We turned, went back, and just started mining in a random direction. After a few stacks of stone for me, we finally broke into another tunnel... on its ceiling. I discovered this after I dropped down, lost a heart, and got up. I noticed some weird looking iron, went to it, and discovered it wasn't iron. It was titanium? I knew you could mine it up, but I didn't realize it was this easy. Although it did seem rare. I shrugged, grabbed the eleven total, and called the others down. They dropped down just fine, and we started marching in a random direction, marking the path with torches.

A few hours later, we came up to the surface, happy and tired, with a massive haul of what seemed like every ore in existance - coal, iron, gold, three diamonds total, thirteen titanium ore pieces, ten luminiht ore pieces, a random block of extra obsidion, and a small chunk of scattered redstone dust and lapis. We all went to our various homes, I dropped a small amount of the various refined ores by the material experimentation lab for the future, and went to bed.

In the morning, I decided it was time to go explore the nearby city.
