Chapter 6

<Unknown POV, Flashback>

A lone adventurer of legendary origin traveled along a dirt path towards an old kingdom, the Kyrse Kingdom.

He's been on this Journey for years.. almost forgetting his age now and then.

His father always told him the story of how one could wield unimaginable power if they could find all lost pieces for a mystic treasure.

No one knew the exact amount of pieces there were or where they were, with only a few having been found.

And this is why he was here.

To avenge his family and take that power for himself.

Ghiri's father had told him that those legends were true with his final breaths when he had died to the hands of a corrupt lord under the Bohg kingdom.. the bastards.

He wanted his son to have a better life rather than being stuck in some orphanage.

He was given this quest when his father handed him a family pendant that held itself a small shard.. it was a piece of the puzzle.

Taking the pendant given from his father and with his finals words to find all pieces to avenge him and his mother, Ghiri left to find the rest.

With one piece down he would find all of them.

<10 Years Later>

*Augh*

On a sword stricken battlefield layed thousands of dead soldiers, adventurers.. people.

In the center of it all was Ghiri, slanted on his bloodied sword with wounds and cuts all over he spit out blood from his mouth as he faced his foe.

A fallen... a creature of terrying power from unknown origins.. but was believed to have come from another world.

It was a being that was said to rise every thousand years.. it couldn't be killed.. like the dark brother of a phoenix.

Every time it was slain.. it would come back.. stronger.

On this day, thousands of people had been gathered in the Kyrse Kingdom in hopes of gaining benefits and rewards to defeat such a titan.

Soldiers were sent from the other neighboring kingdoms along side roaming adventurers from guilds and such.

However, something unprecedented happened, it was much stronger than before.. almost a hundred fold.

It was hoped that every thousand years the fallen could be captured.. but it was too dangerous to keep alive.

Ghiri had long figured out why this was..

In its long dangly forearm was a small blue shard the glowed brightly.. engraved into its very being.

A fallen alone was already powerful but with a item such as that... might as well call it a divine beast.

He could barely stand against it with three shards himself captured in his travels.. he had fought for days with no help.. no back up.

Every adventure has been killed or severely injured leaving only him and the fallen in a seemingly never ending battle.

The fallen itself had lost a horn and held many lacerations.

Both were beat and bloody.

Two days of fighting would of course leave then tired and sore but they both knew that if they lost then the other would kill them.

Gritting his teeth Ghiri yelled a war cry and charged with his sword in both hands.

Launching himself into the air with a bunch of dust behind him, the fallen did the same as well.

It's grey skeletal humanoid figure like that of slender man but bloodied, with giant horns and incredibly sharp claws along with lanky limbs, launched itself into the air with a mouth forming on its face full of sharp teeth.

*SCREEAAAKKKII*

Letting out a roar of death they both met, blade and claw, head on.

Sparks were forming from the contact as they both pushed for victory as they fell from the air.

The forearm of the fallen that held the shard glowed blue as it launched its sharp claws at Ghiris face, only to be blocked by another sword.

The design was more stronger and powerful than his other.. this was his back up it seems.

The fallen getting angered more and more brought his right leg and kicked it towards Ghiri.

*Boom*

Not fast enough to move he was forcefully hit into the ground below at light speed causing a huge hole to appear on the ground creating large cracks everywhere.

Spitting up more blood Ghiri knew he had been defeated.

In the past days he has used up too much energy and strength using his strongest abilities but against a fallens quick regeneration and power it was too tough.

The fallen slowly walked down beside him looked into Ghiri's eyes.

The fallens face was like a void that continued for eternity with its sharp smiling face being the only point to focus.

Ghiri began to sob within trying not to show any weakness, he couldn't complete his fathers wish now that he would die..

Its large grey claw sharpened as it was raised above its head... and with a mighty slam it slashed directly across his exposed stomach.

*SCRRIUSSH*

The powerful blow had taken all that was left of his consciousness as he felt himself fade.

He watched as his eyes began to close with the fallen moving away getting ready to escape.

But before it could Ghiri stretched his arm to reach his sword by his side.. putting all of his energy and power he launched it directly at the fallen forearm.. cutting it clean off.

He had waited for a perfect opportunity and he had succeeded.

With its powerful source of energy gone, the fallen shrieked as its body had long since failed and was only kept going thanks to the shard of energy.

In the very next second it evaporated into a black mist flying away into the wind going back to its origins to be reborn in the next thousand years..

"I-it is d-one."

Ghiri let out a breath as his eyes slowly started to close.

Blood gushed from his wounds as he bled out.

He wanted to be with his father and apologize.. he couldn't make it.

*Thunp*

The sound of footsteps sounded from somewhere near him as multiple figures came into view.

The last thing he saw before dying was a bunch of women in holy armor provided by the Kyrse Kingdom..

Holy maidens, that lived to serve the church.. they had came for him..

To be continued..
