'It's now or never… let's do this once more.'
Seichi was a little nervous, but confident at the same time. Because he came prepared and it didn't take hours to do this fight like in his first run. He commanded his undead to stay away from the dark behemoth that was a towering 3m high.
It has no face, nor even a head to begin with. Its arms were thick, followed by its body which was like a wall and the surface was continuously distorting like the sea, and its lower body was moving slowly, taking its first step forward.
An earth shattering noise just resounded. A tremor spreads over the landscape. This was clearly a demonstration of absolute power.
'That monster, now that I have enough experience at judging, it might be a level 120 Summon.'
It was an absurd level for a portal at the beginning stage. But even so, with a level gap that wide between Seichi and that Summon, he was still sure of his victory.
'It has an AoE ground slam with spikes coming up from the ground afterward. Its basic attack is slow like a snail's pace. And aside from that, it's quite unremarkable in my opinion.'
It was absurd to call something that's level 120 unremarkable when you're only level 1. But, he had all the reasons to do so. Death was assured if he got hit, but that was impossible with that Summon's attack speed. So, its main role was to be a looming threat for Zachary to do some work. He was more like a folding screen if you start to think about it.
'I'll attract its attention. That's my main role in this fight because it'll focus only on me, not my undead.'
As proof of that, when his undead was in close proximity of it even though he had ordered them not to, its fous didn't shift from him. It made its slow steps over to him while Zachary was having difficulty controlling his Summon.
'Why doesn't it respond!'
He tries to conjure his black ethereal energy to control his Summon but, he could only conjure to his limit and be able to shake it off course for a little bit.
'No, I used too much…!'
He belatedly noticed the undead approaching him. He casts a blue hexagon-patterned shield around himself. The undead bangs their arms, kicks with their feet, and even headbutt the shield to try and do as much damage as they can.
The number was quite overwhelming and it created a lot of tension for Zachary who has never faced such a situation before after so long.
'I have forgotten after so many millenia. My power has dwindled too much now, to the point that I'm having problems dealing with trash like this.'
The shield was showing cracks, but Zachary was done preparing his counterattack Spell.
"Arcane Laser."
A blue, lightning-like energy blasted from his palm and traveled through the air in a straight line. Three of the undead were heavily injured from it, but they all came up in a flash and charged back into combat.
"Go my soldiers, charge forward for your glory!"
From afar, Seichi shouted those words and they reinvigorated his undead servants. They all simultaneously roared as they continued to punch and kick the barrier.
'Such simple-minded servants.'
He was glad he got these meathead servants, and thought that his encounter with the young Blood Hunter was a blessing he missed out on back in his first run.
......
Sorceries and dark Magic Power were being fired off. A shadow was being wounded even though it was supposed to be made of darkness. Despair was slowly sinking into the shadow, who was backing away into a wall. A man among his servants stepped up to the shadow.
"You… What are you? You're clearly not someone sent by the Church to exterminate me once and for all since you're a necromancer. Do you seek my Soul for further power?"
The shadow spoke in a solemn and grave tone. His arm was cut off and traces of black droplets were dripping down from it. The black behemoth was now reduced to a motionless corpse, only twitching every now and then.
[Zachary is weak]
[You have the option to Kill and absorb his Soul as a Necromancer]
[Or spare him and be face with the unknown]
A familiar prompt enters the necromancer's vision, and it gives him two options. He was familiar with them, and knew which to choose already.
"It's alright. I don't want your Soul, not yet, what I want is your loyalty. In exchange for your life and freedom, that is all that I ask. Backstab me, and I swear on the Destiny of Contract that your life shall fall to ruin, as to me as well."
[You have initiated a Destiny Contract]
[Awaits the other party's acceptance]
"..."
The shadow, Zachary Drakkar, hesitated and entered a lull. He thinks on Seichi's offer, and the oath he made to the Destiny of Contract. Zachary, in all his years, has never encountered such a being much less a Necromancer acting like this. Instead of coveting power, he extends his hand out to someone else other than himself and his undead servants.
"I… accept your Destiny Contract."
[The Destiny Contract has been established]
[If either you or the second party, Zachary Drakkar, violate the contents of the Contract which is backstabbing the other member then the punishment of Ruin will befall on the violator]
[You have established a Contract with Zachary Drakkar, you can summon him onto battle whenever you want with his consent]
A light showed from above and dawned on the two Contractees. This light felt warm but stinging at the same time, and then a feeling of a shackle being tied around their necks were felt. This marks the completion of the Destiny Contract, bounding their Destinies together.
"I… hope you honor your words. Give me freedom, and I will pledge loyalty to you."
[You have gained a Soul Companion, Zachary Drakkar]
The shadow, stubborn and cocky at the beginning, is now weak and vulnerable. It had nothing else to cling on, so when the bait was cast, it desperately chewed on it. It was a good catch
