Asami and her Team

After his morning routine, Rayzen was eating breakfast alone, as he thought of yesterday's fight. In order to make Asami see that the world would not always move according to one's expectation, he had to reveal that he knew about her 'relationship' with him and pressure her using that.

'It's good that she recovered from all the mental blows. She will not waste her potential in the future. *sigh* But, was it worth it?... I could have taken advantage of her some more and reveal everything later. It seems the world will not always move according to one's expectations.'

Asami returned afternoon with some snacks.

"Did you have lunch at your fathe... I mean Uncle's ?" asked Asami.

He snatched the snacks away from her hands and said:

" Yes, but I have space for more."

Asami giggled as she then started talking about her team. To his surprise, her team leader was Hatake Sakumo and her teammates were two civilian shinobis. Asami praised one of the shinobi a bit and talked about him flirting with her. Rayzen's eyes turned red as he was instantly jealous.

He tried to mimic an old scholar as he said: " All men are bad except me."

Asami couldn't hold her laugh and flicked his forehead. Rayzen rubbed his forehead and said a bit seriously: " I would trust your sensei from what I have heard, but watch out for your team mates. "

Asami felt like Rayzen talked with something in his mind, so she didn't entirely ignore his advice and chose to keep it in mind.

" If you want me to listen to you, then let's have a battle again."

From that day onwards, another thing was added to Rayzen's routine.

After the battle, a tired Asami was dragged into the house by Rayzen. They sat on the hallway of the backyard facing the scenery of life and destruction, one of nature and the other of battle. After a while, as if he remembered something Rayzen gazed into Asami's eyes and said in a voice laced with expectation:

" Hey! I don't think I need to say this. But keep whatever happens between us to ourselves. That includes my prowess too."

She didn't say anything, but nodded and that was enough for him. Sometimes, too many words can be seen as a sign of telling lies.

But she asked: " I always wondered about your situation. You are restricted to here and at your Uncle's. Why is it like that?"

Rayzen smiled warmly squinting his eyes, to hide the coldness that rose from it: " The people who don't wish I exist ever in the first place is more than who longs for my existence."

Even though Rayzen tried to express his answer in a whimsical way, she understood the underlying threat to his life and decided to be more careful with her actions that may draw attention to him.

The beautiful sunset marked the beginning of night and they went inside, each with their own goals.

The days soon passed and everything became monotonous again. But there were exceptions.

The progress of Asami's ninja career and her rapport with her team, that Rayzen heard and had to suffer teasing from her due to his 'well-hidden' jealousy, being one exception, and the other being today.

This day Rayzen had a breakthrough in his chakra capacity to that of Jonin. This was important because of not only the upgrade in his battle prowess, but he had achieved the minimum qualification for using the Basic Impurity Cleansing Technique.

The suprise was not limited to this. He was able to feel a vague connection to the Divine Cube. After the first encounter with it, he tried using his soul force and chakra to search for the Cube. He even tried doing 'cultural stuff' like saying certain spells, doing hand signs , posing and other stuff, but nothing worked.

He had never stopped trying for the past two years. But today, he could vaguely feel the connection to the cube. He went over to a mirror and examined his body, but saw no tattoos even after doing a lot of things to make it visible. It seemed as if there was no tattoos...

' That's weird, in the novel he had a tattoo on his chest from the cube, that he can manifest, when he wishes to do so or becomes visible when the cube is activated. Is what I have the same as the cube in the novel? '

Rayzen felt that this was a vague hint to the how's and why's of his existence in this world and the cube that he got from nowhere.

Unable to come up with anything new, he decisively shelved the issue for now.

' Anyhow, this is a progress, in time , I maybe able to use the cube...'

Rayzen was not discouraged, he went over the Basic Impurity Cleansing Technique etched in his mind again, to prepare for doing it on himself. But this time he was discouraged. He found that this technique can't be used on himself, since for it be effective, the energy needs to be higher grade than his own.

When he was about to feel depressed, a perverted thought came to his mind and he was no longer gloomy but was eagerly waiting for Asami's arrival, that he kept on losing concentration while meditating.

Asami was tired from the day. She had a dangerous C rank mission. Their team had to take care of a Chunin and three Genin level bandits.

Sakumo decided to let them handle on their own, to see their weak points and improve their battle prowess. The mission had led them to a hidden cave.

"One Genin on lookout. The other two and Chunin leader inside the cave." reported Kozue in a serious tone.

"How about I take care of the Chunin, Asami? You guys can take care of the rest." said Sozui trying to show-off infront of Asami.

Kozue didn't respond as he was used to his teammate. But Asami was disgusted by his behaviour, even though she didn't show it in her face. Like always she maintained a cold expression as she said in a cold tone:

"I'll take the lookout. You guys take the other two. When the Chunin prepares for an attack, I'll make a sneak attack. Using that time, take the two out and join me as soon as possible."

"I agree!" said Kozue.

"We will follow you." said Sozui, while not minding her attitude towards him.

The entry guard was thinking about his shift being over in minutes, when he heard a breathing sound from behind, he slashed his sword behind as he turned back too see the person who let out breathing sounds. But he didn't see anyone behind him. On guard, he turned back to face the outside of the cave, as his grip on the sword tightened.

What came across his gaze was a pair of demonic ruby red eyes that had two spinning tomoe pattern, which threatened to entrap one into a nightmare. He then looked away from the eyes to see a beauty with a wild and sexy body. He became horny instantly, as he approached her and said with a lewd expression while his stretched arm was about to touch her breasts : " Since you are here, you can stay with me for the rest of your life..hihi...ughh?"

But halfway, the scared beauty that he saw just then, disappeared from his vision like a mirage disappearing on getting closer. And what faced him was a handsome boy with a sly grin on his face, that seemed to say 'What a fool?'.

Yet the bandit, couldn't understand why he couldn't react or move forward under this sudden change. He suddenly felt pain in his chest as he looked down to see a kunai lodged into it. The boy in front of him pulled the kunai out and wiped away his blood from the cold weapon with the edge of his own shirt.

He wanted to say something, but nothing came out of his mouth, as he felt losing control over his body and his consciousness. The once cruel bandit died without even knowing how and most importantly, when!
