A meeting with Uchiha Patriarch

After class, he spent some of his time at Takeshi's house. And as he was about to leave, Takeshi said to him privately:

" The patriarch wants to meet you. Since tomorrow is a weekend, be prepared in the morning itself. "

Rayzen nodded and asked in a serious voice:

" What does he know? "

Takeshi said in a low voice: " He knows your story upto when you were born but nothing further. "

" What will you tell him? " He asked knowing that Takeshi will talk first with the patriarch before he meets him.

" Your prowess to easily defeat a Genin and battle a Chunin. Nothing about the Byakugan. But about the Sharingan..." Takeshi said while holding his chin in thought.

" Its better to hide it too! " Said Rayzen

" Okay then we can go with that. " replied Takeshi.

" What would I say about my left eye? " asked Rayzen

" Just say that eye was damaged from an accident for now. Even if he inspects you with Sharingan, he would only be left with doubts unless you use the Byakugan. "

Rayzen was observing the man infront of him, who was evaluating him.

Uchiha Akihira. The guy was middle aged and exhuded an aura of strength. Rayzen guessed he might have an elite-jonin combat power at least.

After Takeshi went in and talked to the Patriarch, Rayzen was asked to meet alone.

Now, meeting the man infront of him, Rayzen was a bit nervous, since his origins are not exactly seen as ideal by clan standards, so he didn't know the Patriarch's attitude towards his existence.

Akihira said cold- faced and a bit snappily:

" Rayzen. I know your origins. It's been only a few years since the headache caused by your existence died down. "

Rayzen thought that all patriarchs are cold and emotionless like Fugaku in the anime, and his guess was coming true until...

" No need to worry kid. I was one of the guys who rooted for you to be kept alive and brought up in the clan. "

Rayzen was happy and thankful hearing that patriarch rooted for him, possibly not to be killed in the crib.

The patriarch then took a talisman and gave it to Rayzen and told him to release a bit of his chakra into it. Rayzen saw that the patterns changed in the talisman, but didn't know what it entailed, besides a few guesses.

On the other hand, the patriarch who observed the talisman had a shocked expression on his face which gradually morphed into an unconcealed excitement as he laughed out a bit madly as he shouted out: " Hahaha... Our Uchiha Clan is blessed!"

From the excitement of the patriarch, Rayzen deduced that the talisman was probably for measuring the potential of awakening Mangekyo Sharingan. He then wondered whether anyone in the clan including the patriarch had awakened it.

The Patriarch was after all position of not only power, but wisdom and leadership. Akihira calmed down soon enough, showing that his emotions were in control and not entirely apathetic at the same time. He sighed a bit sadly as he said:

" Takeshi told me your left eye was damaged due to an accident. It would have been better, if you other eye wasn't damaged. Anyway, you have to work with what you got and improve constantly."

Rayzen nodded in understanding.

"So Rayzen, I heard you have the combat power to face a Chunin already. Hence, I extend the invitation to join the Konoha Military Police Force after graduating from the academy. What is your opinion?"

Rayzen replied respectfully: " I would like to ask for time to sort out my thoughts, patriarch."

The patriarch said with a smile : " It's fine! Take your time. The invitation is open anytime. "

The patriarch then looked at Rayzen as he said: " I heard from Takeshi that you have quite a large chakra reserve. And seeing that you upheld the dignity of our Uchiha clan at the academy by taking care of that Hyuga bully, I have decided to give you a reward. You can visit the clan library and pick any one C-rank ninjutsu for now. Once you become a Chunin, you will be allowed more access to the clan library and archives. And report to me once you unlock your Sharingan, the clan will seriously take care of you and core techniques and other information that are only meant for those with Sharingan will be within your reach . Now, you may take your leave. Make the clan proud kid!"

Rayzen went with Takeshi to the clan library with the patriarch's approval letter for taking any C-rank ninjutsu scroll. On the way, Rayzen informed Takeshi of the discussion with the patriarch.

Only Rayzen was allowed in the library, and he was given a list of all C-rank ninjutsus to choose from among those available in the library. Rayzen found the one he was looking for and he browsed through the rest and was suprised and excited to see a lot of jutsus never mentioned in the series, that had tremendous potential, under the hands of the right person. Nonetheless, his choice remained unaffected.

Rayzen felt that this was not the entire amount of C-rank jutsu the clan has. And access to those might only be meant for those with Sharingan and did meritorious services for the clan.

On the way back, Takeshi asked Rayzen in curiosity: " What did you pick?"

Rayzen replied slyly: " Secret!"

Takeshi shook his head and left the issue, he didn't want to bicker with the kid.

Once home, Rayzen studied the theory behind the jutsu and how to cast it. He spent the night after class to study the jutsu. He should have taken only a few seconds with his Sharingan, but the working and the theory behind the jutsu which was often ignored had a lot of concepts for him to ponder on.
