" Please teach me medical techniques, sensei! "
Chizuru gave him a contemplating look and said : " No! "
" Please! " begged Rayzen.
" No! " replied Chizuru.
" Pwease! " begged Rayzen with a cute approach.
" No! "
...
Rayzen felt that Chizuru was a nice person and the Hyuga confrontation at the academy will not influence her decision. Hence he never stopped pestering Chizuru.
Once she got off her shift, he followed her and begged her till she reached her home.
At her home that looked like a traditional house, he saw a guy practicing gentle fists in the courtyard. The guy ended his session in a few moments and came to Chizuru and Rayzen as he asked Chizuru in a gentle tone:
" Who is the kid, Chizu ? "
She replied with a sigh: " You know the Uchiha kid that got that scum Dai and Meiji what they deserved! He is that kid, Uchiha Rayzen! "
From Chizuru's words Rayzen realised that his actions had made a very good impression on this Hyuga couple, instead of the retaliation or the indifference that he expected.
The guy looked at Rayzen with a rare Hyuga smile and said: " I sincerely thank you for taking care of those two bullies. You saved us a lot of trouble! "
" Us? " interrupted Rayzen with a slight confusion.
The both of them smiled and removed their forehead protector.
Chizuru was wearing the primitive model standard Hidden Leaf chunin flak jacket with the Uzumaki symbol on the back, dark blue pants and long sleeve shirt. Her white lab coat and gloves were left at the hospital. Her long silky black hair was let loose most probably since she was not on a mission outside the village. Her fair face and the white eyes that had a unique aspect to it, made her stand out among the others.
While the guy was wearing the same as her, but with more metal platings suited for battle. His long brown hair was tied back with some coarse ends sticking out of his forehead, reaching his eyes.
The both of them wearing the Hidden Leaf forehead protector and as they removed it, Rayzen saw the dark green svastika symbol and the two lines extending from it parallel to their forehead. The symbol looked lackluster, but when activated makes the bearer wish for death.
The Caged Bird Curse Seal of the Hyuga clan.
' So these two were branch clan members. I wonder how much of a bad person the two Hyuga bullies were that they felt grateful to me for taking care of him. ' thought Rayzen.
Seeing that Rayzen understood, they tied back their forehead protector.
Rayzen bowed to them and said sincerely : "
I will do something to make your situation regarding the cursed seal better. Forgive me for ignoring your situation for now. "
Chizuru was happy seeing that Rayzen cared. While the guy laughed it off as he said:
" No need to waste your time thinking about that. Apart from the exploitation of some of the main family members, the seal prevents other ninjas from targeting our eyes and is like an invisible safety net for us people on the frontlines. "
" Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself! I am Hyuga Mashiro! A Jonin and the husband of my dear Chizu! "
Seeing the depressed look of Rayzen when he introduced himself as the husband of Chizuru, Mashiro felt his eyes twitching in anger as he warned:
" Listen up kid! Don't have any ideas about my Chizu, or I'll make you see a world of pain! "
" Tch!" Rayzen had an annoyed expression on his face.
" What was that, kid? " asked Mashiro through gritted teeth, while his fists were clenched with nerves showing, ready to punch.
Rayzen made a nervous embarrassed laugh as he rubbed the back of his head.
Seeing the 'funny' interaction between the two, Chizuru had an amused look while she felt happy inside. She left the two saying:
" I'll prepare something to eat! "
As Rayzen talked with Mashiro he felt the guy was a nice person. They gained familiarity with each other talking about each of their academy days and hobbies and Rayzen's interest in the gentle style.
As Chizuru called them inside for food, Mashiro said to Rayzen: " Hey kid! If you need anything done that is possible by me, I'll help you if its worth it. "
Rayzen face was plastered with a mischievous smile as he made his request.
...
Under Mashiro and Rayzen's sincere convincing that may have included some begging, Chizuru agreed to teach Rayzen.
Rayzen learnt from Mashiro that Chizuru's little brother died on a mission and the fact that Rayzen reminded her of him and him unknowingly doing a favour for the couple, made her want to force Rayzen to be a medic-nin and stay behind the frontlines faraway from life threatening battles.
Even though she agreed to teach him, it was under the condition that Rayzen had to become a medic-nin if ever he got admitted to the hospital under a serious situation due to being an active combat-nin.
And with his solemn promise, he began learning and training in medical techniques for the coming months till the second year of his academy.
Rayzen refreshed the basics he had learnt at the academy and made necessary corrections to his knowledge as advised by Chizuru. Then he invested his time in learning all the medical techniques that a Jonin must compulsorily master.
His speed in grasping knowledge and mastering the skills amazed Chizuru. Unbeknownst to her, Rayzen used shadow clones to make the process faster.
Hence within a month he started learning techniques of the medic-nin that Chizuru thought would be helpful to him in battle.
She taught him an A rank jutsu too. Mystic Palm Jutsu. Chizuru being a Jonin of the Medic corps paired with her Byakugan was able to master this jutsu easily and use it more efficiently than most of her peers and seniors.
The user of this jutsu applies their hand to the afflicted or wounded part of the body and sends chakra into it, accelerating the body's natural healing abilities. Although its most obvious use is as a way of treating external wounds, it can also be used for internal illnesses. Users must be careful to only use as much chakra as is needed for the specific injury. If too much chakra is sent into the body, this can disrupt the body's circulation, putting it into a comatose state.
Hence this jutsu requires a thorough understanding of anatomy of the humans of this world and biological mechanisms of the body, to ensure that the user of the technique doesn't kill the injured instead of healing.
This jutsu was said to be mastered only by few medic - nin of Hidden Leaf. The reason being the jutsu requires thorough knowledge of the body and years of experience to achieve mastery. Although such is the case, this A rank jutsu has been learnt by all medic-nin, but the degree of their mastery makes them use this jutsu for rudimentary healing only. Advanced healing requires the jutsu to be mastered to a really high level.
Rayzen spent his days mastering this jutsu to reach proficiency starting from gaining practical experience by using the technique on small animals and especially fishes.
