New Functions

Asami, Rayzen's family, Mikoto, all his friends, classmates and even his homeroom teacher were surprised that Rayzen took a few days off for everything from class to training.

He had requested Asami to inform everyone that he needed a few days off, before shutting himself inside his room. Asami could clearly see that something was wrong with Rayzen, but his reluctance to share his problems, made her unable to do anything for him, other than satisfy his request.

After spending hours calming down his emotions and adjusting his mental state, Rayzen distracted himself from what had happened by exploring the changes in the Divine Cube.

He sat in a meditating posture whilst half-naked. He then stared at the portion of his chest where he felt the Divine Cube earlier, while he thought of accessing the Divine Cube.

At the instant that he thought of it, he felt his soul connected to a void space which he could 'see', feel and access. While at the same time, he saw the tattoo that became visible on his chest.

Inside the void space he was able to see two corpses. It was the corpses of the two he had killed.

He had already received the information about this void previously and when he was about to leave the area where they battled he stored the corpses of the two into it, in order to avoid further troubles.

His emotions became turbulent again as he saw the bodies of the two he killed. Taking a breath to shove the disturbing memories and his feelings back for retrospection and introspection later, he went on to explore this new function of the Divine Cube.

Although he had received the information related to it, he only remembered them and didn't test anything. Also, most of the functions of this space was upto him to discover.

After some minutes of testing, he concluded :

" It's like an inventory! Or more accurately, a pocket dimension. "

He discovered that it has the capabilities of the standard inventory and a few more. He could store anything that can be encompassed by his soul force or on physical touch, while making a conscious thought of storing it.

There were no limits to the space as it appeared to be endlessly large. There were limits to the things he could store by touch, as he could store only those things that can be lifted by his strength. By expending his soul force he can store whatever he wants as long as his soul force encompasses it.

He had yet to test whether he could store living things. But he hypothesized that he could, as he was able to store his clones. While storing his clones, he discovered that there was no problem with breathing for the clones and everything they could do outside, they could do inside, although they had to adjust to the feeling of floating and traversing in the void space.

From this tests, he also concluded that time is not frozen for the objects he store. But things like food that would spoil with time would last for a much longer time inside the space.

Done with checking out the inventory, he stored all the weapons he had on him, like the kunai and shuriken into the inventory.

He then went over the second piece of information he received from the cube. Whenever he killed a person, he could make a conscious effort to absorb their soul into the inventory using his soul force. Such souls are stored in a separate space of the Divine Cube. The benefits in absorbing the souls and that space being unlocked requires him to grow stronger.

While the third and last information that he recieved was that he couldn't unlock any more functions by the act of slaughter. At the same time there was nothing barring him from carrying out a senseless massacre to verify the information.

At the same time, he was made known that he could have unlocked the functions that he had now, by growing stronger. The reason why he was able to unlock it now was because some kind of seal was placed on this Divine Cube that unlocked these functions when he killed a person for the first time.

Rayzen was unable to gauge the intentions of whatever or whoever placed this kind of a seal on the cube. Nonetheless he was getting strong vibes that the Divine Cube was turning out to be a bit different from what he read in the novel!

Done with going through all the information he received from the Divine Cube way back, he observed everything in his inventory one last time. He was surprised to see a floating wisp, that was a mix of gold and red colour. Since he had consciously ignored everything near the corpses the previous time he checked it out, he failed to see the wisp that was now obvious to him.

He guessed that it was a soul speck, from the last time he saw one and his familiarity with the novel. When he saw that the speck was floating above the corpse of the cat masked Root nin, he was reluctant to approach it with his soul force.

He gritted his teeth and forced himself to approach the soul speck. He knew that once he touched it with his soul force. He will receive the traumatizing memories of the cat masked Root nin.

As his soul force was just a bit away from the speck he arrived at a resolution:

' I was the one to take his life! I should take responsibility in knowing his life and fulfilling his wishes, if he had any. I need to absorb the speck! '

Having prepared he touched the soul speck with his soul force.

He was expecting the soul splitting pain from trying to absorb the soul speck to come. As usually he had to fight with all his will and soul force, so as not to be destroyed by the soul he was absorbing. This was to cope up with the instinct of the soul to resist his absorption.

In line with his expectation, Rayzen had a tough time holding on as he absorbed the soul. Although this time, the pain was amplified by more than a thousand times!

Rayzen knew that if not for his soul force that had grew rapidly from the Overbearing Soul Tactic and mainly from the rise in his spiritual energy due to the nourishment from his vast amount of chakra and his will to survive, he would have definitely died in the first second after he started experiencing the pain.

Luckily for Rayzen the pain was over in a about five minutes, although it felt like months of pain to him.

Feeling relieved after surviving the pain, he was about to reap his efforts. But Rayzen had yet to realise that the real torture was about to start!
