I remember the first time I fell down while walking. I was but a child around 3 years of age and tumbled down the stairs... the brutal feeling of my soft bones against the hard concrete ground. All of that however, was nothing in comparison to the pain in my crotch right now.
"The birds of the trees, fly around and pollinate flowers to mate" I spoked words with wisdom to rival the gods, as I rocked up and down in the arms of Arthur.
"What the heck is he saying" I heard the warrior mutter.
"The curse finally hit him I guess... but at the very least we have acquired the jade scissors" Arthur sighed, obviously feeling relieved.
"So any idea on what the heck is going on?" (Priest)
"Ask the man talking about birds and flowers..." the mage looked at me, flabbergasted.
How rude. They were treating me as if I had gone nuts or something. The coldness spread around my body as I could feel my head ringing. Somewhere along the lines when we were running from the disaster behind, the pain become unbearable enough that it started to spread and affect every part of my body.
"He has lost too much 'yang' energy...it's a miracle that he's still awake now" Arthur examined me as he ran. As expected of a hero. Heroes can really do anything can't they. I reckon if everyone was a hero things would be so much better...or not.
I recalled the holy sword he drew out of nowhere to defend against the demonized emperor. Damn, his Excalibur was so strong and my 'Excalibur' is in extreme pain.
Chuckling to myself at my inappropriate jokes, I recieved stares from the party members. "He's gone delirious..." the warrior sounded a little worried.
"Don't worry Terry, he's fine... I think" Arthur replied. So the warrior is called Terry... I should introduce myself as well.
"My name's Fayn" I introduced myself.
"Yes...yes you are" Arthur's eyes looked sorrowful as he moved his hands to close my eyelids.
"Sleep" that was the last thing I heard him mutter.
-------------------------------------
I dreamt of myself as a street performer.
"We will now introduce you! The fainting magician!" the host spoke, as I begin to juggle pins, bottles and pens by flicking them. As I continued to do so, I eventually fainted with a migraine.
Opening my eyes, I was greeted to a roof that was unfamiliar and I could see Arthur, Terry and the other 2 discussing about something.
"So the clear conditions have changed... previously we just had to fight off the Devil lord for him to retreat... now it looks like he will fight to the death even with the angels... it'll be a tough one" the mage analyzed.
Just then, they noticed that my eyes were open.
An intense wave of pain hit me, originating from my lower half. I immediately curled up trying to cope harder with the pain.
"Fayn, we need to hear from you about what happened in the palace"
Mustering whatever that was left in me, I explained what happened.
"You're able to deflect the demonic aura?" they asked, confused.
I mean... it isn't exactly strong right? It's kinda light after all.
"Fayn, could you show me your telekinesis?" the mage requested.
I recalled the dream about juggling and juggled around a piece of debris in the area. Of course, it was the lightest piece around.
"Interesting... there's no mana, psychic energy or qi involved" the mage's eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Perhaps it's your unique skill! I never imagine someone would have something so wier- special as their unique skill!" the mage seemed to have wanted to say something else.
"What's so special about this is that unique skills don't rely on any form of higher powers. For instance, mana and qi basically requires you to draw out energy from your surroundings and change it into something else. For unique abilities however, as long as certain rules have been met, it will work!" she continued on.
"In this case, as long as your activation condition of 'weight' has been met, you can move or flick whatever it is" she concluded her explanation.
"So meaning?" Terry seemed a little lost.
"He is the natural counter to materialization-type abilities...as long as they don't imbue weight into it though...which is usually the case for offensive and defensive type spells. But curses are a different story!"
"So for any curses the Devil might send over, as long as he's here, we should be able to defend against it"
Feeling a little touched that I was somewhat useful, I felt a little bashful looking at the mage that praised me.
"Though...he doesn't have any defense and is useless otherwise"
I take back my feelings.
"We can try the glass canon strategy if this is the case" the mage nodded towards Arthur.
I watched as he began to constantly take out holy swords and put it away from wherever he came from.
"That's his other unique skill. It basically allows him to gacha a random holy weapon" the mage cheerfully explained.
"So we need one with the highest damage"
Still curling as a a ball to suppress my pain, I nodded at her explanation. Isn't his ability wierder than mine then?!
"Good, so the plan here is that we charge straight in while I shield us and you defend against curses so that Arthur can land a defining blow against the Devil " the mage nodded her head.
"Usually we would just put up a fight since he won't use his full power...until he retreats and the exit will appear with our rewards" the mage continued to explain to me. Honestly, as I nodded at her explanation, the only thing that was on my mind was the crippling pain of my crotch.
One thing though continued to bug me.
"About the prophecy you recieved, how accurate is it so far?" I asked the mage.
"Well, if the person mentioned knows the content of his own prophecy, its accuracy falls greatly, so until it's all over we can't tell you" the mage mentioned.
"But there's one thing we can say for sure though... it IS without doubt 100% correct" the mage gave a light smile.
"Alright I got it" Arthur announced as I turned back to see a great sword thrice the size of an average adult human. He was swinging it around like nothing... that's crazy scary!
"Come, let's go" Terry carried me on his shoulders as the human curse ward(me) was brought along.
I watched as the devil constantly clashed against the angels. Some of them fell out of the skies as the Devil's aura weakened. The scent of death covered the entire area.
"Get ready!" Arthur shouted as he led the charge.
Following along was Terry and then the mage and priest. In this battle the mage carried a more defensive role and the priest was smiting demons around with holy power.
"Pesky humans! And you!" the devil's attention was turned towards us as he noticed my presence.
"HOW DARE YOU" It's voiced boomed around, threatening to destroy my eardrums despite being so far away.
I still couldn't make out its appearance, all I could see was a black silhouette of a man covered in miasma.
I noticed a huge chunk of black smoke shooting towards us and quickly flicked it to a side, it almost hit one of the angels nearby.
"Hey you! Keep that away from me!" the angel shouted back.
"Sorry!" I apologised as loudly as I could.
While that was happening, Arthur had made his way super close to the Devil. I quickly pushed away whatever smoke that came near him.
"How is this possible?" the Devil raised its voice while bracing for the impact of Arthur's strike.
"Divine smite!" the priest cried out and the angels attacked all at once. It was a scene straight out of a movie and I couldn't help but find Arthur looking like a real hero. What was I saying? He is one!
The oversized great sword was stopped as it barely cut through half of what seemed to be his arms.
Black aura flowed out at a ridiculous rate while the lightning and attacks of the angels rained down against the Devil.
"GAAH" it screamed out loud.
"I will remember this!" Perhaps feeling threatened, the devil attempted to escape.
It was then Terry dropped me off onto the ground and taunted it.
The mage quickly dragged me away while casting multiple spells to defend the warrior.
At the same time, I swiped away whatever aura that was being released which approached us.
My head throbbed. I'm gonna faint soon...
The familiar sensation spread throughout my body while the Devil Lord approached Terry.
Arthur returned in the nick of time as Terry held him in place. To deliver the final strike. The greatsword cleaved the Devil in half as the angels mercilessly attacked its remains.
It was at that moment when the entire world became shrouded in mist once more.
In this world made out of mist, only the hero party remained.
Infront of us, I see a pile of equipment laid on the ground. Just like the equipment, I laid down and closed my eyes.
