Chapter 15

Dolton waved to him from his car as Yoshi walks towards the school. Dolton surprised Yoshi with a date during lunch. Baker was sitting on the bench, reading a book as Yoshi waved towards Dolton. "Who's that?" Baker asked, Yoshi, turning around. Dolton had gotten back into the car, driving off. "My boyfriend," Yoshi replied with a smile. Baker looked up at him, standing up. "Huh, so that's where you were during lunch." Yoshi nods.

Baker's face all of a sudden turns serious, as he walked towards the school doors. "I wanted to ask you something." He said, suddenly shy. Yoshi would have said cute, but the conversation seemed serious, so he nodded. "Yeah, of course. Ask me anything." Yoshi says, giving Baker an encouraging smile. The boy nodded, going silent and opening the door for Yoshi. He walked in, nodding his head towards the boy. "I- what was it like coming out to your parents?"

Oh, wow. Yoshi didn't expect that. Yoshi sighed, thinking for a moment. If he was honest, it was scary, knowing how they could have reacted. But Yoshi was lucky, his parents didn't seem to care. They didn't necessarily support him, but if he were to say he's dating a guy, they wouldn't mind it. He had heard how it went for other kids his age, which only made him more worried, but he knew Baker. The boy must be scared half to death.

"Are you thinking about coming out to them?" He asks, turning his head towards the boy. He was playing with his fingers, looking down at the polished floor. "Just thinking about it, I don't know." He hesitates to say any more, and Yoshi sighs. He lets the boy walk in front, giving him a back hug. He walked in pace with him, comforting. "I'm going to be honest with you, Baker. I want what's best for you, always will. If you think that your parents will hate you for it, or something even worse, then don't tell them. Just wait until you can move out. I know it's sucky but-"

"-No, they wouldn't do that. They always have supported me." Baker defended. That made Yoshi smile. The fact that Baker defended and knows that, is amazing. What was he so worried about? His parents will be just fine with it. "Then what's the issue? If they do support everything you do, then you will be ok." Baker sighs, entering Hisoki's classroom. The teacher wasn't there.

Yoshi calmly follows him, noticing Wafi seated next to Harley. "I just, my family talks to relatives a lot. And, my close family will be supportive, but I know long-distance relatives won't. I don't want my family to just cut off all of their family ties for me. I can't do that to them." Yoshi shouldn't have been shocked. Baker, the boy who always thinks about others and not himself. He sighs, continuing to hug the boy. "I'm so sorry. Why don't you tell your family to keep it a secret? Then only they will know, and they could still talk to their relatives?" Yoshi suggests, finally letting go to let the blond hair boy sit. Mago walked in right before the bell, but no shocker, Hisoki was late. It wasn't a weird occurrence that the teacher was late, and it's not like the students cared.

"My honey bunny, sweetheart, candy yams, chocolate muffin, cutie-pie, Har Har," Wafi says, pulling up two strands of Harley's hair. The boy huffed, turning around to glare at Wafi. "Get the fuck away from me, or I'll choke you to death right on the spot." He threatened his voice low. Wafi looked at him innocently. "But Har Har, I thought we agreed that I'll do the choking  tonight?" Wafi asked, seemingly thinking. Kai and Yoshi snicker.

Harley seemed ready to punch Wafi, which was when Mago stepped in. "Let's not today? Thanks." He muttered, pulling Wafi back to his seat, though the boy frowned. "But I and my sub were chatting." He mumbled sadly. That made the whole class crack up. "I'm not a sub and I'm not gay!" Harley spouted, his anger getting cut short by the sound of the door opening.

Hisoki walked into class, in a way Yoshi had never seen before. He wasn't calm and collected as usual, instead, he seemed upset and worried. Yoshi frowned, looking at the clock. He was fifteen minutes late. "Hisoki, are you alright?" He asked hesitantly, the teacher combing a hand through his hair before looking up at Yoshi. He nodded, smiling, though he still seemed a little frantic. He crouched down, scanning through something Yoshi couldn't yet see. "Come on.." He muttered under his breath. Kai stood up, walking down the aisle and towards Hisoki. "Um, sir. Are you ok?"

The professor nodded, before sighing in relief. "Oh thank god." He mumbled, standing up. He still seemed worried, Yoshi could tell through his eyes. "I was just trying to find my phone. All of my notes for the meeting today are there. Sorry class for the worry." Yoshi sighed a breath of relief, happy that nothing serious was going on.

But as he watched, Hisoki taught them numbers. Watched as he wrote the numbers on the board, watched as he passed out notes, the frantic look in his eye remained. He was worried about something, but Yoshi could place what it was. However, by the end of class, that worry was gone, and his normal calm self came back. Yoshi however knew;

Hisoki wasn't looking for his phone.
