This was the longest Harley has ever gone at school. He had been here all day, relaxing with the rest of the group. Hisoki had bought them all food a couple hours ago, but the open house lasted all day. Harley sat on Hisoki's desk, watching the man work. "I still don't understand something," Hisoki starts, barely glancing up at Harley.
He adjusts the hat on his head. RIght before they left Hisoki's apartment to get their uniforms, Baker let him use his hat. Not for any reason. Baker said it was actually Yoshi's. "What?" Harley glanced down at Hisoki's computer. He was writing bullet points down. Probably working on an assignment they would do later that week.
"You hated me, a lot. And I get you did all of that stuff because you wanted to show how bad of a person I was. But, why? Why did you want to prove that?" Hisoki asked, finally giving Harley a glance. His eyes were filled with sincerity, which only made the student feel more guilty. Harley sighed quietly, thinking about the best way to answer such a difficult question.
"I hated you, because you seemed so.... Perfect, I guess. Your clothes, your hair, how you act, everything. You seem so perfect. Hollywood ready. It ticked me off, I guess. And," Harley laughed bitterly. "They all started to like you, get more comfortable around you, it made me even more mad. That they were foolish enough to get fooled by you being perfect. I envied you for being so perfect."
"So, I wanted to show how ugly a perfect person can be."
Hisoki stayed quiet, before nodding. "Is that why, when you found out about my DID, you stopped because you knew I was not perfect?" Hisoki asked, giving Harley his attention. The boy shook his head. "No, not at all. You not being perfect, made me think finally realized that I wasn't perfect. Even if my grades and my life reflected differently. I could make mistakes, and mess up sometimes. But no one will ever be perfect. No reason to try and strive for that."
Hisoki was quiet, humming. He stood up from his seat, reaching over to give Harley a hug. Harley smiled as he felt the pressure of the other's warmth reach the tips of his fingers. He hugged back, laying his head on Hisoki's shoulder. "I'm glad you learned that." Hisoki mumbled.
And that was the end of that conversation.
Wafi groaned, walking back into the classroom. He had left to see if there was anything nearby, but there wasn't. His vest was on his shoulder, his hands in his pockets as his heels clicked. He walked over to Yoshi. "I'm starving!" He whined dramatically. Harley let go of the hug, hopping off of Hisoki's desk. "Didn't we just eat?" Harley teased. Wafi turned around, pouting.
"Har-Har-Jellyfish-Cutiepie-Cupcake-Sweetpea-Darling-Hubby! That was almost six hours ago!" Harley should have expected a ridiculous nickname like that. He missed it. "Literally, just go get food." Yoshi explained, leaning in his chair. Wafi sighed dramatically. "But, it's almost dark. Do you really want your poor little Wafi to get kidnapped?"
"Yes, we would." Mago exclaimed.
Harley didn't know why he did this. Didn't know why he grabbed Wafi's wrist. Didn't know why he pulled the boy out of the room with him. But for whatever reason, it made him smile.
Harley let go of Wafi's hand, crossing his arms. The Yokosa school, not shockingly if you think about it, was located near Ginza, Tokyo, so Harley started walking in that direction. Wafi ran up to Harley, walking at his speed. The two were both silent, not saying a word. However, the chatter of tourist conversations seemed to be enough for them.
Harley didn't notice Wafi's presence until he felt the cold breeze. He turned around, seeing the young boy crouching down to pet someone's dog. His pale skin popped from the black colored dog, that snuggled with Wafi's hand. He had a brown bandage on his nose, his eyes a sandy brown. Harley could see the boy at the beach. But his fluffy coat he had on over his uniform made him think of a snowglobe.
He looked stunning.
Harley silently walked up to the dog that was tied to the post. It's owner must have left it there while they went inside. It was evil. Wafi looked up at him with pure eyes. He knew exactly what the boy would ask. "Can we stay here? To keep it warm?" It was early November, and it was freezing outside. Harley sighs ready to say no, but for some reason Wafi's soft and hopeful smile aided him in the other direction.
"Fine, but if they're not back in ten minutes we're leaving."
Wafi smiled, sitting down next to the dog. He places the poor thing in his jacket, zipping it up until it reaches the black dog's head. It reminded him of Hisoki's dog. Where was Elysian? Harley takes out his phone, snapping a quick photo of Wafi, before turning it back off. Harley sat beside him, Wafi leaning his head to Harley's shoulder. His heart and body felt warm again.
"This would be an amazing date." Harley said out of the blue. Wafi looked up at him, a soft smile on his lips. "Why can't it be?" He asks. His voice wasn't the normal sarcastic voice he would use, instead a much more serious one. People walked past them, not even sharing a glance. Wafi was right about one thing though.
Why can't it be a date?
Harley stayed quiet, thinking of an answer. Wafi smiled, tugging lightly on the other's arm. Harley turned his head, looking over at Wafi. He seemed so genuine all of a sudden. Anything that comes out of his mouth is honesty. A soft smile creeps onto Harley's lips as he stared into Wafi's soul, only seeing kindness and love.
"I would love to go on a date with you. I would love a kiss. I would love to be more than friends."
Wafi sighs, staring up at the bright stars of the universe. Harley has never believed in such things, but it felt like the universe pulled them together. It felt amazing. Harley grabbed Wafi's collar, pulling him into a loving kiss. Harley never thought a kiss could feel so amazing. Could have so much love and sweetness and nothing else but that. Wafi leaned slightly closer, the softness of his lips bringing warmth from the lurid cold.
It seemed they kissed for the entire night.
They loved each other for the entire night.
