Everyone fell quiet after Mago's words, even Mago himself. What was he supposed to say now? Baker groans, laying down and covering his face. "This is insane." He mumbled, his voice muffled from his hands. Kai chuckles quietly. "But is he wrong?" Kai's hands fluff Baker's blond hair.
Mago smiles, crossing his legs and leaning back. He taps Wafi lightly. "Are you happy?" Mago was very happy. He felt energized, like he didn't have to go through Tokyo's traffic to get here. That all didn't matter so much to him anymore. Wafi looks over, he's smiling. "Hell yes, I'm happier than ever." He laid back next to Mago, staring up at the ceiling. "I don't know. Five guys just said they liked you as well as each other-" Mago get's it with a pillow. He looks up, seeing Baker and Yoshi snickering in the corner. Mago rolls his eyes, throwing it back to the two boys. Baker turns his head so it doesn't hit him in the face.
"So childish." Mago mutters, laying on his forearms. Wafi laughs quietly, shaking his head. "They are-"Mago scoffed. "So are you. All of you are." "What? I'm not!" Wafi gasped dramatically. Mago sighed, shaking his head. "I just….. Don't believe it.." Baker mumbled, serious once again. Mago looked up.
Baker laid on Yoshi's shoulder, staring at the ground. How could the two gigglers start being so… serious. All of a sudden. Mago frowned slightly. "What do you not believe?" Baker glances up ast Mago, before back down at the carpet. He curls up lightly into a ball.
"I don't know…. I probably sound like an idiot."Baker murmured, laying his head on his knees. Yoshi rubs his back quietly. "You don't, at all. You can tell us.."Kai assured, a smile in his voice. Baker sighed, nodding. "For me, these last few months have been amazing, you know? Like, probably the best time of my life. Because I had you guys. But, these last few weeks, I questioned so much..
"Like, how was this even possible? How could I love all of you at the same time? But….. I questioned if it was even the love I was thinking about? Was it just brotherly friendship-" "Did you ever dream about us making out with each other?" Wafi cut off, seeming genuinely curious. Mago laughs quietly, hiding his mouth as Kai faces palms.
Harley stands up from where he was sitting, walking over and out of the door. Wafi got ready to stand but Mago gestures for him to sit down. "I got this."He muttered, taking both Harley's and his jacket. He steps outside, sliding his furry coat on his body. He looks around the street, not seeing the black haired boy anywhere. Mago huffed.
THe tanned boy pulled out his phone, combing a freehand through his red and brown hair. He tapped his foot on the sidewalk as he dialed Harley's number. "Hello?" The boy asked quietly. Mago frowns, seeing his breath in a white cloud. It was November in Japan, yet it felt like winter on Neptune. "Where are you?"
There was silence on the phone, nothing but the sound of the wind wishing past him. He stayed quiet, waiting for Harley to answer. "Behind you."
Mago turned around, to see the young boy with his face flushed from the cold. He hugged himself, his arm extended to talk on the phone. Mago's smile is filled with sympathy. He walks up to the boy, handing him his Yokosa Basketball team jacket. Harley smiles, pulling it on. He zips it up to his neck, before placing his hands in his pockets.
The boy turned around and started to walk away.
Mago stared at him for a moment, before following him. "Why did you walk out?" Mago whispered, white smoke-like air forming at his lips. Harley didn't answer at first, the two walking out of the neighborhood and towards the main roads of Tokyo. "I couldn't breathe. I needed a moment. Everything just moved so fast."
Mago was worried now. He had thought that Harley might have spoken up if he didn't agree with the other's actions. If he didn't fall in love the same way that they did. Mago shouldn't be shocked. The boy had said that he was straight- wait. Didn't he say something about talking to Wafi? Doesn't he not like the rest of them? Mago focused on the sidewalk, Harley's feet in his peripheral leading him.
"Do you…. Love us?" The same way that we love you? Mago sighed, shutting his mouth before that could slip. He couldn't say that, it was stubid. Terrible. That's only going to make Harley run away. Which was the one thing Mago didn't want. No one wanted that. Harley was silent, and though Mago gave him a minute, he sighed when he understood the boy wasn't going to say anything.
Mago stopped walking, his hands in his jacket pockets. He watched as Harley kept walking for a minute, before stopping once he realized Mago was behind. The tanned boy could see Harley's head was down. The frosty wind blew his hair to the side, sending shivers down his spine. "I'm going to leave." Mago started. "No….. don't go." Harley murmured, his voice as soft as the wind. With a swift motion Mago grabbed Harley's arm, swinging the boy around.
"Give me one god damn reason why I shouldn't."
The noirette's hair covered most of his face as he looked down, his cheeks still pink from the cold. It was obvious there were tears in his eyes, but Mago didn't care. He was frustrated, angry. Most likely at the situation. That if Harley doesn't like them, then he would be the bearer of bad news. However, a pit of fire burned through him. He was tired of Harley's shenanigans.
"Make up your goddamn mind, Harley! Do you love us or not? I get it, it's not those easy fucking questions like your used to. However, in real life, there's no A, B, C, or D. THat's not how it works. I'm fucking tired of you beating around the damn bush. I'm tired of you not giving me an answer. You need to fucking make up your mind, because I tired of the shit you pull."
Mago pushes Harley away from him, hard enough for the boy to stubble back slightly. Mago shouldn't be mad at him, he was just a high schooler after all. But, he couldn't keep this down. Not for this long. He didn't want to hear Harley say those forbidden words. He didn't want to have to say the one thing everyone in Wafi's apartment doesn't want to hear. But he couldn't let Harley ruin them.
Harley's silence plagued Mago's heart. The tanned boy sighed, nodding. He bites the inner part of his cheek, taking a step back from the other. "Fine. Bye, Harley." He muttered, turning his back to the boy. He stood there for a moment, wanting to hear a 'Wait!' But, he knew it wouldn't come. Fate didn't like him that much.
Disappointment filled his lungs, allowing no air in. However he forced it, walking back towards Wafi's house. That was really it then, wasn't it. Harley must have really not liked them. Maybe it's for the best, but it didn't feel like it. He loved six more people, yet he still felt empty. Like their love couldn't fill the infinite void. He didn't glance back, didn't call for Harley. He just continued walking.
"Mago. I do love them."
However, Mago kept walking.
