Kaya woke, rushing to the restroom. Her knees hitting the floor in front of the tub, not able to make it to the toilet before the vodka decided to come back out the way it had gone in. She wretches over and over, the sound of footsteps coming up behind her. Kenji stands in the doorway, leaning against the jamb and watching his future wife regret her decisions. "Have a nice little party?" He chastised. "You're too loud Kenj." She moans before spitting then turning on the spout to clean out the tub and cup water to her mouth in order to rinse it.
She stands and looks down at herself, feeling the paper towels stuffed in her panties and looking at Kenji's old shirt she usually slept in when she missed him. "Thanks for taking care of me." She tells him, wincing at the headache blasting inside her head. "Yeah, well, I'm not used to it, but you've taken care of me more than a few times so I at least tried." He told her seriously. She chuckled, pulling the paper towels from her underwear and tossing them in the trash. "It's laundry day, not shark week." She tells him. Kenji mentally high fives himself to learn sex is back on the table.
"I'm afraid I don't know the difference. Just that you weren't wearing one of your thongs." He tells her. "How can you be out, you have like a million pairs!" He teases. "I went through them and tossed the ones that showed signs of wear and tear. Turns out that was most of them. I planned to go buy new underwear today, but that was before I met Toru Oikawa." She spat his name out as venomously as possible; her face turning sour while she was reminded of his casual shamelessness "Come on, he can't be that awful can he? So he made you wait. Big deal." Kaya shakes her head at her fiancé.
"He assumed I was an assistant and apparently thinks assistants are slaves you can sexually objectify. Even after he learned about you, he still hit on me and said what you didn't know wouldn't hurt you." Kenji looks at her for a moment, furrowing his brow in concentration. "Did you say Toru?" He asked. "Yeah, and please don't yell." She grumbled. Kenji thought back to the one time he saw the former setter at a volleyball tournament in high school, how he had girls all over him. "I want you to stay as far away from that asshole as possible." He tells her firmly. "I don't really know him, but from what I recall in high school he was nothing but bad news." He continued with worry in his voice.
Kaya looked at him with confusion on her face, waiting for him to fill her in on his sudden change in attitude. "He played for Aoba Johsai as the setter. I never actually played him, but he was a real dick and seemed like a player with the ladies." Kaya nodded softly, letting this new information confirm the already bad feelings she had about her new "boss." Well, I already planned to stay as far away as possible. Ugh, I can't believe I have to work for such a dick." She groaned.
Kenji pulled her into him and held her a moment, petting at her hair gently. "If it gets to be too much I could put in a good word for you at work." He offers gently. "I don't want to work for an electric company, Kenj. I know nothing about it." She complains. "You don't need to in order to work in the office. You're perfectly suited to work in the financial department or maybe HR." He tells her, planting a soft kiss on her forehead. "Just something to think about." He adds. Kaya looks down shrugging her shoulders, leading Kenji to wrap his arms around her in a lose embrace.
Kaya lets out a small sniffle and hugs him closer to her, taking in his scent and enjoying his warmth. She really was grateful he came down to see her tonight instead of having to wait to be consoled until tomorrow morning. She looks up at him and gives a suggestive smile that he groans at. "Trust me, I want you so bad, it's been a month. But you're really hungover, it can wait until you're feeling better tomorrow. I'm here until Sunday around 4." He tells her, pushing hair out of her face and placing a soft closed mouth kiss on her lips.
"Come on, let's get you back to bed." He offers. Kaya nods, accepting that he's not willing to comfort her sexually at the moment and follows him back out to the bedroom to lay back down. She places her back towards him and scoots closer, Kenji wrapping an arm around her. "I love you beautiful." He whispers. "I love you too." She replies, smiling, thankful for one thing that's going right in her life.
Saturday morning, Kaya woke to find the other half of the bed empty. She got up and looked around the apartment for Kenji and spotted his hoodie from the night before sitting on the chair in her room, makeup stains evident from what she assumed was her crying last night. Unable to find him anywhere in the apartment, she takes the hoodie and moves over to the kitchen sink.
When Kenji returns with coffee and bagels he finds her finishing up with scrubbing the stains out of the hoodie with a toothbrush and Dawn dish soap. He feels a sting of regret for being upset last night Even though at the time, she was ruining it when he'd just bought it, seeing her take such care with it reminded him how she didn't take him for granted. He had planned to drop it at a cleaner, but found her lovingly correcting the issue was much more endearing.
"Thanks Kai, you didn't have to do that." He tells her as he wraps his arms around her hips standing behind her. "I wanted to. You were so sweet to me last night. I couldn't have been fun company. You shouldn't have had to walk in and see that after not seeing me for so long." She responds, rubbing his arm and laying her head back into his chest. Kenji smiles down at her and kisses her forehead. "I got breakfast for us." He tells her, smiling. She nods and thanks him, hanging the hoodie on a hanger she'd brought from the closet and hanging it on the knob of one of the cabinets to dry before joining him at the table.
Kaya hadn't finished her bagel before she got up from the table, seeing Kenji was finished, and straddled his lap. She leaned in and kissed him with a satisfied hum. "I need to feel you inside me." She told him huskily. Kenji felt his dick immediately stiffen at her words and pulled her more into the kiss before placing his hands on her ass. "Fuck, you're driving me crazy, it's not even 9 yet." He teases. "Come on Kenj, it's been so long." She whined. "Why do you think I'm so hard right now?" He responded, standing with her wrapping her legs around him.
Kenji placed her down on the table and leaned over her, pulling her panties down while she lifted her hips a few inches off the table and proceeded to unzip his jeans. He took his hardened member into one hand and used his other to rub at Kaya's clit softly, groaning at how wet she was already. He pressed himself against her entrance and pushed into her with a growl.
"So tight." He cooed, his voice strained at the anticipation of having her after a whole month. Kaya laid back on the table and whimpered at the feel of him inside her at long last. "I need it." She whined, drawing out her words. Kenji let out a little chuckle and pulled his hips back as he pulled her closer to him by her thighs and slammed into her again.
Kaya let out a happy moan, "Don't stop." She begged, Kenji readily listening to her and slamming into her a few more times before he pulled out and came all over her thighs growling wildly. "Fuck, you're so tight and wet I couldn't hold out." He complained, mostly to himself. "It's ok, we still have the rest of the weekend." She consoles him. Kenji smiled down at her before leaning over her body and kissing her. He stood straight up and walked away while button his pants. Kaya slowly got up from the table and made her way into the bathroom to pee and take a shower.
They spent the rest of the morning cleaning up Kaya's apartment from last night's aftermath before heading out to get lunch at The Varsity*, Kenji dying for a frozen Varsity Orange** and Kaya not opposed to the fried foods due to her looming hangover. After lunch, the couple stopped by Redbox, renting movies and heading back to Kaya's apartment where they spent the rest of Saturday snuggled up on the couch watching movies, eating snacks, and having sex.
As the night wound down, Kaya found herself starting to feel sad that he would be gone again in less than 24 hours. She smiled anyway, not wanting to get into another argument about how she should just move in with him already instead of waiting until they were married. She wasn't looking forward to moving away from Athens, but she knew that marriage would mean compromise and she would have to leave the town she grew up in for her husband. Part of her had sort of been hoping they could put off the engagement one more year so she could enjoy Athens a bit longer before moving away.
Sunday afternoon both Kaya and Kenji had lunch with Kaya's parents, Kaname, and Kosuke. Everyone wished Kenji a happy belated birthday, Kaya recalling they'd spent his birthday apart as well. Her brother and his husband told their family about the latest updates with their attempts to adopt, possibly being able to meet a child of one-and-a-half soon. Mrs. Moniwa talked animatedly about becoming a grandmother and said that it was nice she wouldn't have to wait for Kaya and Kenji to be ready to start a family. Dragging their feet a little, Kaya and Kenji returned the movies to the Redbox before going back to her place to get Kenji packed back up to return back to Decatur for the week. .
Kenji asked her about still postponing the wedding another year now that she now longer had to run the company and that maybe things would be easier if she moved to Decatur with him since it was closer to Atlanta. Kaya felt disappointed that he would choose to bring this up right before he was going home, not wanting him to leave right after a fight.
She channeled her feelings into her argument, saying he was being selfish and insensitive, only thinking of what he wanted. Her family company had been purchased by a large corporation which she knew next to nothing about, with an asshole for a CEO. Did he not consider how much of a change this was for her? He countered that it wasn't selfish to want to be married and living together because she wants those things too or she wouldn't have said yes to begin with when he asked her to marry him nearly two years ago.
Kaya apologizes that she came across as not wanting to be with him saying she obviously did and looked forward to it and that it's just the wound of losing control of Date Tech was still fresh for her. She loves Kenji and looks forward to a life with him, but she sometimes finds it a struggle to make him as much a priority as she feels he deserves. Her home town of Athens and Date a Tech often in her mind before him leaves a sting of guilt evident on her face.
Kenji noted her face, satisfied she recalled that he should be more important and told her he understood, pulling her in for a kiss. Kenji lifts her by the hips and takes her to the bedroom to feel himself inside of her one last time before he goes back home for at least another week. He felt putting off leaving for another five to ten minutes would be worth it, if just to hear her whimper for him again once.
As Kaya walked Kenji out to his truck she sighed sadly before kissing his lips and bidding him a safe trip home, urging him to text her when he's there safely. He promised her that he would, closing the truck door and starting it up, giving her a small wave and a small smile before he drove off back towards Decatur.
With her favorite distraction driving back to Decatur, Kaya decided to go back into her apartment, pulling out her laptop and trying to find all she can on Seijoh Corp and Toru. As she searches, it becomes pretty obvious the family paid a good amount of money to keep Toru out of the press for a few years, even finding one title with the article removed. She stared at the screen wondering what could have been written under "Oikawa legacy returns after leave." Leave for what. He couldn't have been more than maybe 22 or 23 at the time. She scoffed and figured he must have been some alcoholic or addict and they worked to cover it up. Now he was running the business her grandfather started in his youth.
As she got ready for bed, her phone rang, an unknown Atlanta number flashing across the screen. "Hello?" She answered, hoping she was wrong about who it might be. "Damn, even on the phone I can tell you're a hot piece." Kaya sighed. "Can I help you with something Mr. Oikawa?" Exasperation colored her response "You can call me Toru." He offered cheerfully. "What's the purpose of your call Mr. Oikawa?" Kaya asked, insisting this firm boundary stay in place.
"I need you to show me around town." He told her firmly. "Why me?" She countered. "Because I'm your boss and I said so." He tells her in a tone that let's her know he's very used to having his way. "When would you like this tour Mr. Oikawa?" She asked, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Pick you up in 10 minutes." He responds cheerily before hanging up and leaving Kaya to look at the phone with a puzzled expression.
Kaya looks at the phone in her hand, still processing the conversation that just happened. The time is 9:15 PM on a Sunday. She has work in the morning, and he wants a tour of a town that's mostly asleep at this point. She picks up a pillow and screams into it before turning to look into her full length mirror. She's wearing a pair of green and black plaid pajama bottoms and an old white Date Tech Family Day Picnic shirt that used to be Kaname's. With resignation, she shrugs and decides not to change, instead going to the closet and finding a pair of flip flops and waiting for Toru to arrive.
*The Varsity is a famous local counter service restaurant with few locations in both Athens and the Atlanta Area.
**The "Varsity Orange" is a secret recipe beverage that you can get as a normal drink or blended with ice cream. If you ever go I recommend the frozen it's super good.
