Kaya stands folding the towels she left in the dryer last night, her phone pinging to let her know she has a new message. Kaya folds the towel in her hand then picks up the phone to see who's messaged her. 'Baby, talk to me. I miss you.' She shakes her head, feeling bad that the sender has the wrong number and replies to let them know so before she puts the phone back down.

Before she folds the next towel she has another message. 'Kaya, I don't have the wrong number. I miss you and I need to see you. There's a lot I have to say to you.' Kaya closes the message and goes to Toru's contact and sends him a quick message. 'Did you get a new number and suddenly start calling me baby?' She asks. Within seconds she gets a reply and her heart starts pounding as she reads the words.

'Why would I get a new number and not tell my favorite person in the whole world? And gross, baby is nearly as bad as daddy.' Of all the people to be messaging her, why did it have to be Kenji, what could he possibly want. She blocked his old number, did he really get a new one just so he could message her? 'What time are you coming to pick me up?' She asks Toru. '11:15' He replies simply.

Kaya looks at the clock, it's only 8:53, over two hours until Toru would be getting her for their brunch with Takeru, Hajime, and Hikari. 'Is everything ok?' Toru inquires. 'Don't leave me on read Kaya. We need to talk.' Kenji sends at nearly the same time. 'Kenji texted me from a different number. I'm just going to block it like I did his old one.' Kaya responds to Toru before blocking the unknown number. 'Ok, I'm here if you need anything.' Toru responds.

Kaya goes back to folding her towels, finishing up the task and putting them into the linen closet. Normally she takes care of weekly chores on Saturday, but she and Toru went to her parents house and stayed pretty late. They were ecstatic the two were now a couple and invited them over. Kaya took that as a good sign, as they only invited Kenji over if it were rude not to, not for a random Saturday.

Kaya goes into the kitchen to unload her dishwasher and hears her phone going off in the bedroom. She walks into the bedroom and lifts the phone to see a new message from an unknown number. 'I assume you blocked the other number. No big deal, I'm using an app, I can just keep right on texting you, no matter how many numbers you block. I'm dedicated to fixing things.' Kaya sighs and types her reply.

'I'm not interested in fixing things. Leave me alone.' She'd thought of telling him she'd moved on, but she wasn't sure how he would react to that part and didn't want to risk him going overboard and showing up later in the day or at work or something, so she kept it to herself. 'I can't do that. I love you. I'll prove it by being consistent.' Kenji replies, bringing frustrated tears to Kaya's eyes.

'For once, just respect what it is I have to say and leave me alone.' She responds, blocking the number and deciding to take a shower. Now clean Kaya decides to get ready for her brunch date with the others. She puts on a pair of faded blue jeans and a pink long sleeve shirt with her initials monogramed on the right side of the chest. Kaya looks at herself in the mirror and decides to skip makeup since brunch is pretty early in the day and she doubted Hikari would be wearing any.

Instead, she blow dries her hair and places it into a messy bun before adding a pink lip stain and considering herself in the mirror. She decides to forgo contacts for the day and places her glasses on her face, then puts on her pandora bracelet and smiles at herself in the mirror. She considers her look to be southern adorable and told herself it was going to be a good day as she spritzes some perfume around her neck.

Kaya goes to grab her phone and check the time and becomes annoyed when she sees she has several messages from three different numbers in total. Not wanting to read the messages, she just blocks the numbers and choses the delete option so she doesn't have to see the things he's saying. She wanted to have a nice Sunday with her boyfriend and their friends, she was not about to let his toxicity get to her.

Kaya notes that she still has about a half an hour before Toru would arrive and decides to start a pot of boiling water to make a fresh gallon of tea, seeing as the container in the fridge was nearing empty. She stands and watches the water until it's hot enough to turn off and adds the tea bag when there's a knock at the door. She smiles to herself that he'd come early and happily makes her way to the front door.

Opening the door, she immediately tries to close it again, but Kenji stops her from being able to do so and forces his way into the apartment. "Damnit Kaya, I told you we need to talk, you're not just going to keep ignoring me like I'm nobody." He spits out venomously. "Get out, I don't want you here." Kaya screams, her voice soon going silent when he stands directly in front of her, her back against the wall and one of his arms on either side of her, hands firmly on the wall behind her.

"Kaya, come on baby. I love you and you love me. I know I said some really terrible things to you, I was just angry, I didn't mean them. You know that, you've seen me when I'm all worked up. I was convinced you were cheating on me." He tells her. "You're the only cheater here." She spits out at him venomously. "I, I'll admit I did get drunk and didn't fight off Mio one night.

"I hated myself for it and kept it from you because I knew it would hurt you. I also didn't want you to be mad at your favorite cousin for getting me drunk and seducing me. That's where the clap came from. I'm sorry Kai, I know it was wrong and I can never take it back. But we can get past that one incident. I'll never see or speak to Mio again, I haven't either, not since I last saw you. Other than to bitch her out for ruining everything." Kenji pleads.

"No, you're wrong. I don't love you, I hate you. Just being near you makes me feel like I need another shower. Preferably one hot enough to burn my skin off from fear of leaving any trace of you. My whole apartment needs to be cleaned and sanitized, I'm going to have to burn white sage in here all over again. Go away and leave me alone, I don't want to be with you. I never should have been with you for as long as I was." Kaya replies, angrily.

"Ouch baby, you're really getting me back with the painful things to say. That's not like you. What's gotten into you then, since you swear it wasn't that butt weasel Oikawa." Kenji asks, Toru's name coming out with murderous rage. "Leave Toru out of this, don't even say his fucking name." Kaya fumes, causing Kenji to lock eyes with her, a dangerous smirk on his face.

"Toru? So it's Toru now is it? So you made up with him but you won't even give me a chance?" He yells in her face. "I was mad at him for something that wasn't his fault. It was your fault. Toru did nothing wrong so I apologized and he was gracious enough to accept. And I swear to Uga* if you say his name one more time I'll kick you in the shins." She threatens.

Kenji lets out an amused laugh. "Kick me in the shins then is it? Sounds kinky." He replies, placing his face against her neck and inhaling deeply. "Fuck you smell so good." He whines, pushing against Kaya's hands on his chest trying to get him away from her. He turns his face and starts kissing along her neck, pushing his body hard against hers. "Get off, don't touch me." She cries, tears pouring down her face.

"That's right, act like you don't want it. You really know how to turn me on don't you baby?" Kenji teases, his words making Kaya cringe at the recollection of the times she wasn't that into it and would say no, but he always took that as roleplay and said it was hot. Her tears started to fall harder and the real fear of being taken against her will made her freeze in place.

"Please, please stop." Kaya whimpers out in a small voice. "Fuck I'm so hard for you right now." Kenji whispers, moving a hand to her hair and pulling it to the side for easier access to her neck. "I've missed the way it feels to be inside you, I bet you're just dying to have me fill you up." He says. Kaya shakes her head sobbing, her hands trying to push Kenji away from her and failing due to their difference in size and strength.

"Stop, I don't want this, I don't want you. Let go." Kaya yells while sobbing uncontrollably. "Fuck baby, you've never gone this hard at it for me." He tells her, moving his hands to her jeans and unbuttoning them. "No, STOP." Kaya screams at him, his hand slipping into her panties and grabbing her pussy. "Seriously, how are you not dripping wet from how hot this is?" Kenji asks, moving his hand up to her breast and squeezing it.

"No matter, you'll be soaked soon enough, let's make a baby Kaya." He whispers, pulling her pants down. "Let go! Leave me alone." Kaya cries, kicking her arms and legs wildly to try and get away from him. She hits him hard in the lip and he lets go of his grip on her to grab his face. "Damn Kaya, don't go overboard, that actually hurts." He tells her, turning his head to see her running off and going into the bedroom.

Kenji smirks as the door closes and walks slowly over to it. "Little cat and mouse? I like it." He coos loudly, making his way to the door. "Kaya, why's the door locked baby?" he asks, trying the knob. On the other side of the door Kaya sat against the door crying, her pants around her knees still and her sobs so heavy she can barely breath. "Go away before I call the police." Kaya threatens.

Kenji chuckles and places his forehead on the door. "That's funny baby. Come on and open up the door so I can make you feel good." He tells her. "You wouldn't know how to make me feel good if your life depended on it!" She screams at him through the door. Kenji sucks his teeth and starts pulling hard on the door. "If that were true you wouldn't have begged for me the way you did, or even put so much into this little game of yours."

Feeling the fear rise back up that he may be able to make his way into the room Kaya looks around, her eyes landing on her phone makes her feel relief and she rushes towards it before making her way into her bathroom and locking that door as well, calling 911 as she moves her weight against the door. "Emergency, how can we help you?" A man's voice comes over the receiver.

"My ex, my ex is in my apartment, I tried not to let him in but he came in anyway." Kaya cries. "Ok ma'am, has he been threatening in any way?" The operator asks. "He, he had me against the wall, kept trying to have sex with me when I kept saying no." She replies, trying not to fall apart. "Where are you now ma'am? Are you safe?" He asks. "I hit him and he let go. I ran into my room and locked the door. I'm in the bathroom now though. Door's locked." She tells him.

"Very good ma'am, I can see an address here, it looks like an apartment complex, which apartment is yours?" He asks. "22 A." Kaya replies. "Can I have your name ma'am?" He asks. "It's Kaya. Kaya Moniwa." She answers, the man is silent for a moment then speaks again. "Alright Kaya, I have officers on route, I'm going to stay on the line with you until they get there." He assures. "Are you in need of medical attention?" He asks.

Kaya stands and looks at herself in the mirror, the dark hickies on her neck make her cringe, but she sees no sign of injury. "No, I'm not hurt." She replies. "I hear a knock at the door." Kaya tells the operator. "The officers are still two minutes out ma'am, are you expecting anyone?" He asks. "Shit." Kaya whispers. "My boyfriend was coming to pick me up for brunch." She responds, hoping Toru doesn't do anything crazy before the cops arrive.

"I'll inform the officers to be advised that there are two males in the residence, what is the name of the perpetrator Kaya?" He asks. "Kenji. Kenji Futakuchi." She replies. "I really don't know what Toru will do if he realizes what's happened. I'm scared." She confesses. "Is your boyfriend aggressive?" The operator asks. Kaya goes silent while she thinks it over, then she hears Toru's voice coming closer to the bedroom door.

"Kaya, are you ok? It's me, I'm here." Toru calls out to her. "Don't speak to her." Kenji seethes. "Um, not normally, but this is a pretty intense situation. My ex touched me a lot and left hickies on my neck and Toru can be pretty possessive." She admits. "Ok Kaya, whatever you do, stay in that bathroom until the officers get the scene under control, that way your boyfriend doesn't see the extent of what occurred and remains non-violent." He advises.

Just then Kaya hears the front door again "ACCPD, open up." She hears a woman's voice yell into the apartment. "You really fucking called the cops Kaya? What the hell, it was just a little roleplay." Kenji yells at her. "What the fuck do you mean roleplay?" What did you do to her?" Toru asked, murderous rage dripping from him. "Nothing we haven't done before. Kai knows I love non-con. She's never taken it this far before. Hit me, ran away, called the cops. She acts li-"

Kenji's voice was suddenly interrupted by the unmistakable sound of something being hit, and hard. "You fucking son of a bitch. How dare you try to rape her!" Another impact sound. "You're scum!" A hit. "It sounds like this isn't the first time." Someone falls over. "Just the first time she managed to stop you and get away." Kenji grunts when the sound of another hit rings out. "She isn't yours to touch asshole." Another hit "She's mine now! You'll pay for touching what's mine." Toru yells.

"Yours?" Kenji sneers, his voice low. "So that whore was cheating on me." He says angrily. "Kaya never cheated on you idiot. Not that you deserved that courtesy seeing as you did it to her over and over." Another hit. "ACCPD. Sir, step away from the man on the floor." The lady officer yells from inside the apartment. "Hands in the air." Another voice commands.

"Kaya, are the officers on the scene?" The operator asks. "Yes." Ok, I'm going to let them take care of everything from here. I'm ending the call. " He informs her before hanging up the phone.

"Ms. Moniwa?" The woman's voice calls out. "Yes, I'm in here." Kaya yells back, coming out of the bathroom. "I need you to come out and identify your attacker and give your statement." The officer calls just as Kaya opens the door. Her eyes land on Toru first, his hands in the air and blood dripping off his fist. She then sees Kenji on the floor, his nose appears to be broken and he's holding his ribs.

"What the fuck!? He left hickies on you?" Toru yells, his face darkening as he directs his attention back at Kenji. "I should have hit you harder." Toru seethes. Kaya cautiously steps out of the bathroom and points at Kenji. "He's the one who, who, well he." She falls short and starts to cry. Toru drops his hands from being in the air and makes his way over to her, the officer yelling at him to stop. "I just want to comfort her." He says, stopping inches away from her, hands back above his head.

"Ma'am, can you please use names and tell us who is who?" The lady officer asks gently. "On the floor is Kenji Futakuchi. My ex and the reason I called. The angry one who wants to hug me is Toru Oikawa. My boyfriend, he'd never harm me." She finishes.

Toru feels a tear fall down his cheek to hear her say she trusts him so much to the officer, even just moments after being assaulted. Kaya closes the space between them and wraps her arms around his waist, her face in his chest breathing him in.

Toru looked at the officer and when she nodded at him he lowered his arms from the air and hugged her. "I'm so sorry Kaya. I should have just come over when you said he'd texted you." He apologizes. "Don't do that, neither of us could have known he'd come." Kaya assures, getting her tears under control. Soon additional officers arrived and insisted on speaking to Kaya without Toru around.

They sat Kaya on the couch, allowing her to have some water while they took her statement. Kenji was made to lie flat on his stomach on the kitchen floor in handcuffs while being questioned and Toru sat on his knees by the front door in cuffs as well. Kaya tried to get the officers to release Toru, but they told her he was under arrest for assault and Kenji already stated he wanted to press charges as well.

Kaya watched with tears coming down her face as they placed Toru into the back of the police cruiser. The officers asked her a few more questions and were finishing up when Hajime, Hikari, and Takeru showed up. Kaya told the officers they were friends and allowed them inside of her apartment. After the cops left Hajime told Kaya he'd called Toru's father and they were already getting an attorney on it and he would be out soon.

Kaya nodded and excused herself to take a shower, the hottest shower she could stand. The friends listened to her heave and sob from the living room with their hearts breaking for her. Takeru ordered pizza since they missed brunch and Kaya barely nibbled at hers. After lunch she noticed Hikari looked tired and offered to let her lay down in her bed. Hikari insisted she would only accept if Kaya lied down as well.

While the two women lay together Kaya confided in Hikari that she was afraid of what would happen to Toru and that she didn't like him being in trouble for defending her against her attacker. Hikari said she understood where she was coming from, though from the sounds of it that Toru hit Kenji more than defense would be warranted, especially since she was in the bathroom safe.

After a while they fell asleep, a nap being just what was needed for both. As they slept Hajime and Takeru cleaned up Kenji's blood from the fight, if you could call it a fight. It was more like a beating. Hajime had been known to be a little violent towards Toru from time to time to get him to see sense, but this went beyond anything he himself had ever inflicted onto a person. Though thinking had it been Hikari he felt he would have done the same, possibly even kill the guy.

When Kaya awoke, she insisted on making dinner for everyone, just wanting to keep her mind occupied and try not to think about what would happen to Toru. There was no real conversation as they ate, no one mentioned Toru or Kenji, not wanting to upset Kaya. After dinner Takeru helped her clean up while Hajime sat on the couch with Hikari massaging her feet.

An hour later, Takeru got a call from his grandfather telling him to go pick up Toru. He stood and told Kaya he'd be back. She tried to go with him, but he reasoned that Toru wouldn't want her to see him in that place. Kaya accepted his reasoning and instead waited impatiently for him to return. When she saw his car finally pull back up nearly 40 minutes later, she ran out the door and jumped into Toru's arms, wrapping her arms around him.

"I'm sorry Kaya. I should have kept my temper in check." He tells her. Kaya shakes her head and Kisses his lips. "Don't apologize. I get it. I'm just glad you're back." She tells him with thankful teary eyes. "I'm happy to be back." He tells her. Kaya smiles and kisses him again. The three go back into the apartment and Kaya heats up dinner for Toru.

Everyone sits around the table, listening to Toru explain what would likely occur from here after speaking to his attorney. He explained his attorney felt he could argue for nothing more than probation and a fine as Toru had never been charged with assault before and there were extenuating circumstances. Everyone felt relieved he may not have to worry about real jail time.

Not long after Hajime and Hikari left to head back to Atlanta. Takeru asked if he could stay with his uncle in the guest room and he easily agreed. Kaya told Toru she didn't want to be alone and asked him if she could stay at his place. He hugged her close and told her she could stay with him anytime she'd like to do so and helped her to pack an overnight bag.

Back at Toru's apartment, Kaya took her third shower of the day, this time so she didn't have to leave Toru's side as he took a shower. She washed him and smiled at the relaxed hums he released as she did so.

After they were all cleaned up, Toru started making up the couch, but Kaya started crying and saying she didn't want to be alone. Toru looked at her with sad eyes and realized she would likely need time to feel safe on her own again, but was happy he could be there for her while she sorted through it.

Toru laid on his back in bed and allowed Kaya to come as close to him as she wanted. He smiled softly when she wrapped an arm over him and lay her head on his chest, pulling her body close to his. "Goodnight my Toru." She whispers. "Goodnight my Kaya." He replies, landing a kiss on the top of her head.
