Chapter 1: Never Fear...

As my eyes fluttered open, the first thing I noticed was a strange sensation throughout my body. It was as if a deep chill invaded the marrow in my bones and caused my entire body to freeze over.

Surprisingly, I felt no pain and only a sense of relief that caused a shiver in my spine.

The next thing I realized was that I was now at the bottom of what appeared to be a giant ravine. I slowly pushed myself up and onto my knees. I glanced around and peered up at the 100 ft tall rock wall above me. I could see the starry sky was gone, replaced by the red rays of dawn. I turned away from the sky and inspected the ground around me. Gone with the pesky sand and was now covered in a clay-like substance. It was hard to the touch and stained my fingers red when I brushed against it. I wiped my fingers against my leg and got up onto my feet.

I peered out in front of me and saw a long pathway that stretched on for miles. At that moment, as I felt a sense of annoyance due to the long passageway, a gentle breeze brushed against my exposed back. I reeled around in shock and found myself staring at a large cave opening. It was a massive opening that could fit dozens of buildings within it. Inside it was pitch black, and the small amount of light from above only illuminated a few feet of the cave entrance.

The small amount of the cave floor that was revealed looks almost obsidian in appearance. It glinted in the light and had a subtle black glow. As I stared at the black obsidian, I suddenly felt a deep unsettling chill.

All the instincts in my body told me to run, and in the next instant, I was suddenly lifted off my feet.

"OH SHIT!"

I cried out in alarm as I was thrown through the air and engulfed in the shadows of the cave entrance. I trashed around, but the invisible force kept pulling me deeper into the cave. At this point, I was beginning to panic, and in a fit of desperation, I thrashed my arms around to grab something. As my hands touched empty air, I felt my right-hand brush against something cold. I felt my eyes widen, and I reached toward it. As the object appeared in the palm of my hand, I felt my thumb brush against what I assumed was a button. A buzzing noise echoed in the darkness, and a sudden intense beam of light shot out from my hand. The invisible force instantly vanished, and I fell to the floor, my back striking against the obsidian surface.

I grunted in pain and arched my back upwards, the force of the fall knocking the air out of my lungs. After a few struggling gasps, I eventually gained my breath and glanced at the glowing beam within my hand.

Is that...

At that moment, I felt my heart jump into my throat, as an overwhelming sense of nostalgia flooded my consciousness. I slowly got to my feet, my eyes never breaking away from the object in my grasp. Eventually, I got to my feet and was now standing in complete darkness. My only source of light was the long beam of energy that vibrated and buzzed in my grasp.

"Is that a fucking lightsaber?"

Yes...

I was, in fact, holding a lightsaber in my hands...

A genuine Star Wars lightsaber...

I felt an immense sense of giddiness and gazed in wonder at the dream of every Star Wars fan. The lightsaber itself had the appearance of a katana hilt, with black and gold trimmings. The guard of the lightsaber was gold and was circular in appearance. Of course, besides the exquisite lightsaber, my gaze was instantly drawn to the beam of energy brightening my surroundings. Instead of the original Star Wars colors, the plasma beam of energy was a bright grey. It vibrated with power and caused the surrounding air to gain a new temperature. As I gazed at the lightsaber beam, I suddenly felt a tingling sensation in the back of my mind.

I had no idea why, but my body instinctively dodged to the right as something red flashed across my vision. I rolled across the obsidian floor and leaped back onto my feet. I lifted my gaze and noticed a figure eerily standing in front of me.

Oh...

A few feet away was a man covered in a black robe. His features were concealed behind a faceless red mask, and he had his hood over his head. Yet, the reason I was alarmed was because of the glowing lightsaber within his grasp. Wielding an original-looking lightsaber, the beam of plasma was a dark red, something only a Sith would wield.

A Sith, belonging to the Dark Side...

(Well, not everyone with a red saber is a Sith..)

I felt sweat drenching down my back as he raised his saber, the lightsaber echoing in the silent cave. As I stood there, the Sith dashed forward, his speed almost seemingly inhuman. As his blade carved a red afterimage through the air, I raised my lightsaber up and blocked his attack. The force behind his attack, along with his momentum, caused me to drop to a knee.

Our lightsabers hissed against one another, causing sparks to dance around my vision as the Sith gazed down at me. As the Sith pushed against my lightsaber, I could feel the same tingling sensation in the back of my mind.

As the Sith forced my saber closer to my face, I could feel the heat from it scorching against my face.

"Motherfucker!"

In a fit of desperate rage, I cried out in anger and pushed with all my strength. The air around me suddenly exploded, and a sonic boom filled the silent cave. I watched as the Sith was knocked off his feet and was thrown across the room before he violently struck the wall. The sounds of bones crunching rung in my ears as the Sith lifeless body crashed against the obsidian floor.

I knelt there in shock, my lightsaber still in front of me, as I gazed at the dead Sith.

Slowly, my mind replayed what happened, and my eyes were drawn to my hands.

(Did I use the force?)

That thought caused me to look back up at the Sith, and a feeling of nausea overcame me. I leaned over and vomited a mouthful of stomach acid onto the cave floor. I could feel my body begin to shake as realization dawned on me.

I just killed someone...

I just ended someone's life...

The thought alone made me vomit onto the floor again...

Using my free hand to wipe my mouth, I stood there in shock, a frown forming on my face. Silently, I shook my head and took a few deep breaths.

(The Sith was going to kill me...I had to protect myself.)

I glanced back over at the Sith and felt another wave of nausea wash over me, but I quickly swallowed the bile back down my throat.

(Even if it was in a gruesome fashion...)

As I stood there, trying to shake the feeling of guilt from my mind. A sudden sound drew my attention. I froze and pressed the button on my lightsaber. It deactivated and went back into the handle as the silence retook the atmosphere. I was quiet as I listened in on my surroundings, the tingling sensation returned, and my hearing suddenly turned sharper. I blinked in confusion but quickly shook my head and refocused on my hearing. It was faint, but I could hear engines rubbing along with the sounds of footsteps near the cave entrance.

I nibbled my lip as a feeling of uneasiness took over. The tingling sensation grew, and I could feel a heaviness in the air. I could only assume that people at the entrance were enemies. Also, the feeling of negative emotions near the entrance, along with the heavy feeling of uneasiness, prove another vital point.

There was another Sith...

I need to get out of here...

So, I imagined a wave of force going into my eyes, and to my disbelief, my vision grew clear, and I could see in the dark. I glanced around in amazement before my gaze landed on the dead Sith. My eyes looked over at his lightsaber, and a thought came to mind. Raising my hand, I focused my mind upon the lightsaber. Baffled, I watched as the lightsaber flew across the room before landing in my hand. I gave off a gasp of surprise and glanced down at the Sith's saber.

I pushed up a slid near the top and watched as a violent red beam slowly ascended from the hilt. It gave off an eerie rumble and cast a red glow upon the surroundings. I deactivated the saber and turned my attention toward the entrance of the cave. I found myself feeling worried as I moved forward, my bare feet touching the cold surface floor. Yet, as I drew closer to the cave entrance, I froze as my hearing caught another noise.

It was the sound of a louder rumble followed by sounds of plasma rifles being fired. I quickened my pace, my feet slapping against the obsidian rock as I drew closer toward the entrance. As I ran around a large boulder, my sense tingled, and I activated my lightsaber. The grey beam erupted, and I swung it upwards in time to block a downwards swing from another robbed Sith. Our sabers struck and sent sparks flying across the room. The Sith pulled away and delivered a spinning kick to my chest, sending me tumbling backward as the air was knocked out of me.

I quickly tried to regulate my breathing as the Sith advanced toward me, his red beam casting a menacing glow upon his visor. Swallowing a lump in my throat, I quickly activated the other Sith's lightsaber, and the red beam quickly emerged from its place. This action caused the Sith to pause. I couldn't see his features, but the way he was standing told me he was being cautious. I held both lightsabers in my hands and quickly found myself feeling useless.

(I don't know how to fucking fight!)

I tried to rack my memory for action scenes in the movies, but then a video game came to mind. Glancing at both sabers, I reversed my grip and placed my arms by my sides. The Sith instantly spun his lightsaber and dashed toward me.

(Shit! Here we go!)

As he stabbed the end of his lightsaber toward my stomach. I felt my heart leap into my throat as I used the saber in my right hand to swing it upwards. Red touched grey, and my attack caused his trajectory to bounce off course and fly over my shoulder. I spun around his body before using my left hand to stab my red saber into his back. The Sith quickly reacted and swung his lightsaber behind him, blocking my attack and thrusting his hand toward me.

I crossed my lightsabers in front of me and felt the force strike against them. I was thrown off my feet and sent flying across the cave. Cursing, I quickly connected with the tingling in my head and swung my hand behind me. A weird feeling entered my hand, and the wall behind me cracked in response, the force allowing me to stop my flight.

Before I could have a chance of relief, I was already dodging a red saber that was aiming toward my head. The Sith's weapon cut through the obsidian wall and caused it to leave a trail of melted rock.

(Holy Shit!)

As I screamed within my mind...

I watched as the Sith's lightsaber cut through the remaining rock and came flying towards my chest. I frantically crossed my sabers over my chest and blocked his oncoming strike. Our weapons clashed, and sparks flew as he pulled away and swung at me again. I dodged a strike aimed at my head and used my grey lightsaber to redirect a thrust aimed at my midsection. I quickly backed away, my eyes firmly locked onto the Sith's figure.

As I stopped my retreat, the Sith slowly moved forward...

Each step echoed throughout the cave walls...

(Is this how I die?)

The Sith drew closer, his lightsaber casting a menacing red glow in the darkness...

As I gripped my lightsabers tightly...

Something completely unexpected happened...
