Applicants

In a certain room inside the company's building, applicants were seated in every seat. Since ANC Corporation was recruiting, a lot of people applied for the position, even if they already knew they were going to select only two people for the role.

They wanted only male applicants and the young men had to be in their twenties.

So all the applicants were actually intimidated and lost hope when they saw the other young and agile-looking men who were applying for the same position. Some even looked like foreigners.

"You seem nervous." A young man turned to look at the applicant seated beside him. He was tapping his fingers on his thigh rapidly.

The young man he was talking to turned to look at him. He had beads of sweat all over his face. The first thing he noticed was the sharp hazel eyes of the man who had just spoken to him.

"Yea."

"Your anxiety is making my anxiety anxious." The first young man whispered and flashed him a weak smile, revealing his nice and clean dentition.

The other man was almost beginning to get jealous of him. He looked at his hand and stopped tapping it on his thigh. "Sorry. I just have a bad feeling. I'm usually not this tensed."

"I understand what you mean. But try to be confident. That's what's going to get you this job." Hazel eyes said.

He was glad he was sitting beside this guy who would give him more tips on how to scale this interview like a boss. "Thanks. You seem like you've worked for a Corporation like this before."

Hazel eyes shook his head. "I haven't."

O-kay... maybe he has worked for a bigger company? Which company was bigger than ANC? Did he work abroad?

"Then... which company have you worked for?" He asked with interest.

"Uhm... none?" Hazel replied with a sheepish smile.

"None? As in, no one?" The other frowned. "Then how did you know the 'keys' to getting this job?" He inquired, emphasizing keys with an air quote.

"I saw it on the internet. I have been failing the other interviews so I did some research."

He scoffed. It was pointless talking to him anyway.

The air in the room suddenly turned icy cold. People began to wonder if someone had increased the air conditioning until they saw a lady walking past them towards the room where the interview was being held. She didn't bother to spare any of them a glance. A young woman in a trim suit was behind her and trying to keep up with her pace.

"Shit!"

As soon as she was out of sight, people began to swear, and chaos ensued as some of the applicants stood up with their belongings and began to leave.

"What is going on?" Hazel eyes asked the young man he had been talking to earlier. The young man appeared ten times more nervous now.

"That was Grace Anderson!" The nervous man said and turned to look at Hazel eyes. "Now I realize why I am so nervous. What is she doing here? I heard she doesn't interview applicants!"

"Uhm... what is wrong and where are all these people going to?" Hazel eyes asked in confusion as more people picked up their files and began to leave.

"They are leaving because of Miss Anderson! Maybe I should leave too?" He murmured the last part to himself as his fingers resumed tapping on his thigh.

"I... am still lost. Who is she?" Hazel eyes asked.

The other guy turned to look at him in surprise.

"You have no idea who she is?"

He shook his head.

"Do you even live in this country? Dude! Two words for her; BAD NEWS."

One of the applicants stepped out at that moment. The boy looked like he wanted to cry and also throw a punch as he walked out of the place.

A nervous-looking staff member called for the next applicant.

"See that?" He said, referring to the boy who just came out. "No one expected her to suddenly show up here. She is the first daughter of Wilson Anderson, the Chief Executive Officer of ANC Corporation. She may or may not take over this company from her father."

"But... she... is very pretty."

Nervous guy turned to look at Hazel eyes in shock. "That's all you are concerned about?" He asked in disbelief. "Dude! None of us may get this job."

The door opened and the applicant they had just called in was already out.

"Crazy bitch!" The boy cussed as he stormed out angrily.

"Can you see what I'm saying? A family friend who works for this company but in another department, told me she is the reason they keep looking for employees and interns in this division. She either fires them or they quit within a month. We are so doomed."

"Maybe... we might get lucky?"

He laughed. "You want to try LUCK with Grace Anderson? What's your name? You seem funny."

"Brad. Bradley Morgan." Hazel eyes supplied, his gaze fixed on the door through which Grace had entered.

"I'm Nerd." Nervous guy said and extended his hand. "Nice to meet you. Let's fail this interview together!" He cheered, looking all pumped up.

Brad laughed. "Cool!"

"042. Nerd McGrath."

Nerd stiffened before he turned to look at Brad. "I guess this is it."

"Good luck." Brad said before his anxiety kicked in.

He was applicant 043.

"Grace Anderson." He murmured softly.
