She's gone!

Brayan's point of view:

As usual, I woke up early in the morning and was getting ready to go get more firewood and catch some fish, our food supply had dwindled a little and soon we would have to compare more groceries.

I wore brown leather pants and a white linen shirt, my red hair slicked back.

I grabbed the thick wool coat near the head of the bed and walked out of the bedroom to the kitchen to talk to my mother.

"Good morning" I said with a smile when I saw her.

"Good morning son" I said returning the smile, my mother was dressed in a gray linen dress with a white woolen shawl, she was crouched in the corner of the kitchen lighting the fireplace to keep the temperature inside the room.

"I'll get more firewood, half an hour and I'll be right back", I told him, already arriving at the door and putting on his coat.

"Of course, be careful" I nodded at her and headed for the foot of the mountain as usual.

* * *

Half an hour later, I was back, I put the freshly harvested firewood in the storage room, and I ran to the kitchen to eat the meal.

"Bray, call Elora to eat, she hasn't got up yet" Say my mom when she saw me walking into the kitchen.

"Ok, I'll be right back" I went to the door of the room where Elora had been for the past few days and knocked softly, intending to invite her to eat.

"*knock on the door* Elora, my mother is calling you to dinner, are you awake?"

I waited a few seconds to see if she would respond, but to my surprise no one answered on the other side of the door.

"Elora?" I called again and the result remained the same, silence.

"If you don't answer, I'll come in, sorry for the inconvenience" I took courage and pushed the doorknob, upon entering the room I froze and couldn't let out a little scream. "Ah!!!"

I was surprised by the sight, not that there was anything to start with, and that was the problem, there was nothing, let alone someone! She's gone!

My scream wasn't loud, but my mom still heard it from the kitchen. She came with quick steps towards the bedroom.

"Brayan, what happened?" She asked me worried.

"Nothing really, it's just that Elora is gone" I spoke in a low voice like I was trying to confirm what I saw.

"She disappeared !?" She spoke in exasperation.

"Yeah, looks like she left…" I was a little sad that she was gone, hoping she would stay here for a while longer.

After we calmed down, we went back to the kitchen, it was quieter than usual and there was nothing we could do.

Thoughts flooded my head, will I ever see her again?
