*Earthland, Ishgar, Fiore*
*June 17, Year 772*
*Afternoon*
While we were eating we made some idle chat.
"Master, if I remember correctly the date of your birthday is near right?"
"Well it's about two weeks and a few days away, why do you ask?"
"I'm gonna ask if you have already made some plans for your birthday?"
"Isn't it just spending time with a few people like Cana and Gildarts and eating cake?"
He showed a tangled expression and said.
"Don't you plan to make it grander? Like renting a small restaurant or something and inviting all your guildmates?"
Hearing what he said, I just sighed.
"It's not that I don't want to, it's more because I can't afford it because I spent a lot of my money buying those pieces of land."
"And it's about time for me to accept a new quest or else I won't be able to pay rent next month."
After we finished eating, we then headed to the guild hall to pick a mission to do.
Since I've made a D-rank puppet and two of them to be exact I am now eligible to accept D-rank missions.
"Hey, master what do you think about this mission?"
Sebastian asked as he passed a piece of paper to me.
[Pretend]
Requirements: Handsome mage
Location: Hargeon Town
Description: My mother is rushing me to get married, need a handsome mage to pretend to be a boyfriend and do a pretend wedding to deceive my mother.
Requestor: Madame Rose
Reward: 150,000 Jewels
Wow! Such rich rewards, isn't just 50k jewels enough to hire somebody to do this why the extra?
As if seeing my confusion Sebastian handed me another piece of paper.
When I took a look at the paper, I immediately threw it out and blocked my mouth to prevent myself from vomiting.
"Hahahaha, what's wrong with you master feeling out of the weather?" He asked with a sly smile.
"How could you do this? Doing such underhanded tactics." I said with deep disgust.
Inside the piece of paper is an ugly fat woman with warts all over her face, no wonder the rewards are high but no one is interested in accepting this mission.
"Be serious when picking missions next time prioritize hunting monsters."
After a few minutes of searching, I finally picked a mission that I'm satisfied with.
[Snow Lynx Fur]
Requirements: at least Peak E-rank Mage
Location: Mt. Hakobe
Description: The Fur of the Lynx must not be damaged, The more damage the lower the purchase price.
Requestor: Threads&Stripes merchant guild
Rewards: Depends on the amount of fur the quest taker submits and an additional set of winter-style clothing.
Yup this task is good not only can I make money but also test my new puppets as the general rank of Snow Lynx is High E-rank to Low D-rank, it's extremely suitable for me.
I then picked the job off the task board and have Makarov stamp it for me, although he expressed doubt about me finishing this mission after showing him my puppet he agreed to let me do the mission.
After the job was stamped I immediately went home and packed up my stuff and went to a nearby magic item shop and bought an Ice cutting pen and some cheap magic winter clothes.
An Ice cutting pen is a necessity when going to Mt. Hakobe as you might never know and you encounter a rare natural magic item called Hakobe Ice.
Hakobe Ice is a really good thing! It can be used to moisturize your skin, can be used as condiments, and can even be used to restore energy and cure diseases.
It's extremely popular in every store! No store will refuse to buy Hakobe ice.
After all the preparations were done, we then hired a carriage to go to Mount Hakobe.
Sebastian looked at the Ice cutting pen in his hands and asked.
"What did you buy this pen for master?"
Then I told him about the wonders of Hakobe Ice.
And Sebastian after hearing about the wonders of Hakobe Ice, especially the one that can enhance the taste of food, clamored to go search for Hakobe Ice all over Mt. Hakobe.
I can only say nothing can stop a foodie from finding more ways to enjoy food.
