CHAPTER 25: ENCOUNTER (2)

CHAPTER 25: ENCOUNTER (2)

*Grhh*

The sound of klaurs was heard in the rear of the trees as Aria's attention quickly shifted to the sound.

She quickly took out a knife made from amethyst which she had stolen from the facility, thereafter taking an attack stance.

*Grrhh*

The sound came louder as she observed a klaur rushing towards her.

It was a wolf-type klaurs as it's body was like a wolf, but had a black body and its legs glowed a blue color in the dark.

The klaurs rushing forth had not noticed anyone in front as it rushed blindly from within the trees to the place Aria stood.

In an instant, she jumped forth, running into the raging klaurs.

The knife then glowed with a blue mana energy at its edge.

*Swoosh*

Creating a sharp blue slash into the air.

The klaurs then stopped as the strike hit its sides, creating a big deep wound.

*Thrud*

The klaur made a sound as it collapsed on the snow, leaving lingering snow dust in the air. She then walked to the fallen klaur as she noticed it was half dead, as it was still bleeding with its blue colored blood on the snow.

*Swoosh*

She gave it a finishing blow as decapitating the head of the klaur. Thereafter, vanishing, leaving only traces of black particles lingering.

On sight of the black particles, she wondered,

— Klaurs... How comes. They should have found me.

*Grrrhh!!!*

The sound of the klaur was louder.

Worried over the sound, she ran towards Blu, laying on snow wrapped in animal fur.

On reaching Blu, she carried him, pushing him behind a tree to hide him from the klaurs.

Hiding almost the tree, Aria turned her gaze towards the trees, searching as she pondered,

— The klaurs are not supposed...

After a brief moment of silence.

*Dum*

A different sound was heard, but much louder.

After the sound stopped, it was silent, as then at that moment, a large horde of wolf-type klaurs came rushing from behind the trees.

Their numbers were many.

Aria quickly took cover from them, shifting her gaze behind the tree from her left.

Worried over their numbers, she waited.

*Dum*

Another sound was heard as she noticed a horde of klaurs were running in panic.

Aria then shifted to notice what happened, but to her surprise none of the klaurs running attempt to attack, she wondered

— Why are they not attacking... It's like their running...

Thud... Thud...

The sound was heard closely as it became louder,

Aria was shocked as what she could observe—was a giant klaur almost a building tall.

It was a different klaur from what Aria had encountered before, as it had tentacles coming out of its body with many eyeballs from on its face.

The klaur were spotted eating other klaurs that were running from it.

Aria was scared, as she had never encountered any Klaurs like that.

She then recalled all what went through to escape, as she said.

***

I have to protect Blu.

***

*Sigh*

After a brief sigh, gathering courage, she then clutched her knife.

Using her psyche [phase], she could become invisible by entering incomplete spirit mode by leaving a part of her body, mostly her legs, in physical mode, or else she would stray into the spirit realm, but to attack she would have to undo it.

Aria knew this, but still went on to attack.

Because she had a plan to attack both legs of the klaur resulting in it falling down before she delivered the last strike.

As she entered incomplete spirit mode, she then ran toward the klaur's leg, leaving traces of snow prints behind.

On reaching the klaur's leg, she then undo the invisibility on her right hand.

*Swoosh*

She then struck the first leg, but to her notice the mark she left had regenerate.

— Regeneration.

Petrified by her lost to strike the klaur.

The klaur quickly noticed her, as its eyes all gazed down at her.

As Aria attempted to escape by entering spirit mode, the klaur using its tentacles swiftly grabbed her.

Aria, having been caught by the klaur couldn't escape with her psyche, as the klaur's tentacles prevented it.

She was then left with no choice by the force her way out by attacking it with her knife.

*Chud*

Thrusting the knife into the klaur, she noticed it was bleeding, then continued thrusting it.

The klaur deeply pained by the attack, then swiftly raised Aria into the air.

Aria was shocked, as she didn't expect the klaur to raise her, as she then noticed what it was going to do, she then struggled to escape.

With the klaur raising its hand in the air, it then rapidly flung Aria as she dived down unto the ground.

On impact, Aria coughed out blood as she couldn't completely withstood the impact, as it resulted in her passing out.

While unconscious, Aria then recalls her time with Blu.

***

'The first time I hid behind Blu, I got this warm feeling in my heart.

I don't know what it is, but every time my body merely moved on its own.

I started to become selfish as I started to hide behind him everyday, but he never complained.

Even that time he told us about the escape plan, my heart fluttered.

Remembering the first story I read—The princess's knight.

I thought of Blu being a knight in armor.

He was like a knight willing to protect his kingdom, even though he laid his life for it.

I thought that was cool.

I don't recall much of what happened after I woke up from the explosion at the vehicle.

But the feelings remained as I wondered—Is this how the princess felt when she saw her knight rescue her?

Still, I never comprehended what really was that feeling.

But, I knew Blu protected me.

So even though it's just this once, let me repay the favor'.

***

On waking up, she noticed the klaur had already started to eat her, as she was wrapped by the tentacles of the klaur.

With its mouth wide open, it carried Aria, who was slowly gaining consciousness

As it was almost to gulp her up.

A white glittering light entered its wide open mouth.

*Boom*

The klaur exploded, dropping chunks of its body from the sky.

Without a foothold, Aria, who was above ground, started to fall down.

*Swoosh*

A black figure then carried Aria in the air, dropping down smoothly.

Aria wondered.

— Who is that?

All she could see was a black figure as she lost consciousness.
