Letter Eight

Hi dad.

In the last few years, I guess it's the first time I'm writing a letter to you again. You were here when I turned five and never went back. It seemed like you loved living here again until the last month.

I was on my school trip when mom called the school and asked them to speak to me. I was sad the whole trip back to our house. You promised you would stay, but you left again.

I don't know if it's about the fight you and mom had last night or the fight you both had been having for the last month. I don't know where to put my fingers and who to blame. But dad, it's been a month now. You hadn't called. I waited by the phone each day to hear your voice, but you never called. So I thought I would write you a letter, our old odd way of communication whenever you went on a business trip.

I hope you write back because I miss you. I miss talking to you, and since you left without saying goodbye, it's been hurting me a lot. And so is mom.

We miss you.

Your Ann.
