Letter Thirteen

Hi dad

It was my birthday. Just a few hours before is became was. It's 2 pm while I'm sitting in my room writing this letter to you. I know I will just leave it on the counter in the kitchen for mom to see and send it to you. I can't even face her with this letter in my hand. Maybe I should just stop now?

The house was full of people. There were kids from my class with their parents hanging around with them. You know to watch out for their children. Mom ordered my favourite cake, a chocolate one with chocolate chips somehow inside the cake. She even decorated the house with balloons and fairy lights, my favourite colour, rainbow.

She bought gifts for me, not just one but so many.
