Yoai, I met him years ago, just when we had first started school. We had been friends for what felt like forever. I had loved him, platonically of course, but the love was still there.
When I saw that text he sent me, my world lit up. He has been there for me my entire life, I had finally realized it. I wasn't alone, I had at least one person. He made me excited, he was cool, amazing. At that moment, all the platonic love I had for him turned romantic.
I had fallen in love with my best friend, I felt like he was finally the one. But I had realized that in doing so, I had a chance to ruin our friendship instead of strengthening it.
I decided to not think about it too much, I stood up, getting off the bathroom floor. I cleaned up the mess of pills everywhere. After some time, I had decided to lay down in my bed. I walked into my room feeling the soft carpet on my feet. I fell onto my bed, the cushion caught my fall.
While lying there in my bed, I had my phone in my pocket. I took it out and tapped the screen to turn it on. I saw the low batter sign in the top right corner of my phone screen.
I turned over onto my side and grabbed my phones charger from underneath my bed. I plug in my phone and open up my messages with Yaoi. I see the message again.
My heart fluttered, I loved him, he was the light in my life. He was the only person I felt was truly there for me.
I reply to the text with, "I felt kinda bad earlier, but I feel better now!"
I didn't want him to worry about me, why would I have someone I love see me weak and vulnerable?
I left the messaging app and scrolled through.
I saw a post from him, he was talking about how he was drawing. He was amazing at art, he was one of my biggest inspirations with art. He taught me many techniques with art. He was always there for me. Why did I barely realize it?

I woke up to my younger brother telling me to get him a snack. I groggily got up and got him some goldfish. I slowly walked back to my room. I crashed onto my bed and checked my phone. There was a new notification from my messaging app, it was Yaoi. It read, "That's good, what are you up to?" I smiled, I replied,
"Nothing much, just woke up from a nap, what about you?"
Yaoi said, "I just finished a drawing, wanna see it?" I said, "sure!" He sent me a picture of a drawing, it was amazing, and I told him that it was. He said, "Thanks." "Hey wanna talk for a bit," I asked. Yaoi replied with, "sure"

"Lol," I said replying to a video Yaoi sent. "Yknow, I really like spending time with you."
Yaoi replied with "me too." I checked the time, 2:37 A.M. "I gotta go to sleep, we're almost done with the school year, rather not wake up late again," I said. "Ight, goodnight," Yaoi said.
"Goodnight," I replied
