Dinner Together

Soon, Aunt Song came.

She was in her forties and was very hardworking.

She quickly arranged a room for Xia Yunshu and carried her baggage upstairs.

Her room was on the second floor.

Aunt Song left after she was done with these administrative tasks so that Xia Yunshu could have a good rest.

She would also alert Xia Yunshu for dinner. If she wasn't tired, she could also go for a stroll in the courtyard.

Aunt Song knew that Xia Yunshu had been in a vegetative state for five years and believed that she would not enjoy the crowd.

So, she gave her some books to kill her boredom.

Xia Yunshu did not come down.

She walked towards the balcony, took one of the books Aunt Song left on the table and sat on the hanging chair.

As the sun set and night fell, she switched on the light in the balcony.

It was very comfortable to read a book in this atmosphere.

With gentle breeze and cicadas chirping under the sky with sparse stars.

Her soul had wandered in that mysterious place for nearly ten years.

She learnt a lot of things, including mathematics, physics and chemistry, but not "Chinese", of course.

Maybe the place where her soul floated was set based on her past experience living abroad. Hence, "Chinese" wasn't mandatory.

Fortunately, the Xia family based in Country Y were Chinese. Mastering Chinese was compulsory in every Xia family. Otherwise, she might not be able to speak Chinese with such fluency that she retained at thirteen.

But being able to speak Chinese was insufficient for her to ace examinations.

To her teachers, she had always been a very good student.

She was always strict with herself.

She must return to school and will sit for exams after coming back to China.

She didn't want her "Chinese" to hold her back.

She won't go wrong reading more books.

As she read a few pages, someone knocked on the door.

She placed her hands on the pages of the book, poked her head out, took a glance and said, "Come in."

The door opened and Aunt Song entered.

She was in her standard professional attire.

She stood by the door professionally with clasped hands in front of the lower abdomen and said,

"Dinner is ready, Miss Yunshu. Are you going downstairs for dinner or do I bring it up for you?"

Xia Yunshu closed the book, "I'll go downstairs and eat."

It seemed impolite if she didn't go downstairs to eat with others on the first day at her host's house.

She put on a relatively homely long skirt, light green.

As she came down from the upper floor, one of the seats was already occupied at the dining table.

It was by the owner of this manor, the grandson of Yu City's aristocratic Qi Family, Qi Jing.

He was also the current head of the Qi family.

Qi Jing was a legend too.

He was the head of a large family at twenty-two.

Hearsay he was excellent since he was a child, but still completed his studies at the same pace as his peers.

He became an entrepreneur in college and had achieved considerable results within his four years there.

This was expected from the Qi family with a profound heritage over the years.

After graduating from university, he was tasked to take over the family business and handed his entrepreneur-related businesses to professional managers.

Within a year, he was so popular within the inner ring

No one dared to look down on him just because of his age.

Everyone in the circle knew that he was a high flyer and stayed away from him.

Yutian had never crossed paths with Qi Jing before.

Xia Yunshu only knew him from the news that he was performing well but didn't know much about him.

Precisely because she didn't know him well, she was inevitably a little curious about this powerful person.

Of course, she was just a little curious.

Withdrawing her gaze, Xia Yunshu calmly walked down the stairs to the dining table.

The square long table was not an exaggerated long table, just an ordinary six-person table.

The manor is very large, but there wasn't magnificent decoration in the main building.

The main building was mainly in black and white, simple and restrained.

Qi Jing sat at the main seat of the dining table, and Xia Yunshu walked to the seat on his left.
