Leaving

After that first client with the dog, I gradually got more and more clients for my house-cleaning service, both from the ad and from recommendations. Apparently those I worked for were very pleased with me, because they kept singing my praises to their friends and acquaintances. Within a few weeks I already found myself cleaning at least one home every day of the week, with the exception of Saturday. Each home I cleaned earned me 200 shekels, so that line of work alone was enough for at least 4800 shekels a month, or around 9 gold and 80 silver. It wasn't a bad income, and it was enough that I could rent a tiny apartment for myself and still have enough left for my other living expenses, as Rebecca reminded me.
